Stopped for Lunch while in the area. Great pub very clean and well looked after with a great selection of beers. Fantastic burger for lunch. Wonderful

Best pub near Paddington Station

Pleasant pub and staff. BUT ONLY TAKE CARD PAYMENTS. Shame on you. Many of us pub users,especially who have travelled a distance to come to Paddington want to use cash which I feel is quite normal and reasonable. So this establishment needs to adapt for both preferences

The rudest staff in all of London. We were completely ignored. The tables outside are dirty and are not cleared. The highlight is that there is a QR code stuck to the table that says Order&Pay. After scanning you just go to the website to reserve a table or room

Proper english Pub with good beer and the food was good as well. During our first visit (we sat inside and it was possible to order on the table) the service was good - litte bit slow but good. On the second day we sat outside and the service was horrible. You were not able to order on the table, nor using the ordering app. The empty plates and glasses stood on the table for ages. It depends really on the time when you are in.

Recently stayed here on first time trip to UK - room was described as cosy double & it hit the mark. Cosy but comfortable with recent refurbishments making our stay very enjoyable. Great pub, good food, across the road from Paddington Station however very little noise apart from the occasional rumble from the Tube. Would stay here again... not everyones cup of tea but it would recommend it for location!

Lovely pub good food nice staff

Popped in for dinner as we were waiting for the next off peak train home. Very noisy music making people shout to make them selves heard above which was annoying. We asked for small drinks but were brought (and charged for) large which was also annoying. The beer was in short measures, well below a pint but the food was freshly prepared and very nice. The staff were pleasant but poor command of English or just taking advantage of out of town visitors. Food was charged with a 12.5 % service charge which I refused to pay but was charged anyway, the automated payment system doesn’t seem to understand the word no. The food was really really good, the beer was in good condition albeit short measures.

Really tasty breakfast very close to Paddington station with a big plus of having the train times and platforms on a tv and as it is only a 3 min walk you don’t need to leave til the last minute to catch your train. We will definitely visit again.

This is strictly about the pub, didn't stay here, didn't eat here. The location is perfect, just outside of the Paddington station Elizabeth Line entrance, it is on a cozy corner, not as busy as others. Good draft selection, stay to the basics that is what always say. There are outdoor seats where you can people watch and enjoy the good weather when you have it. The pints are about £6.50 - £ 7.50, not bad.

Great location when meeting a friend when I was staying at Heathrow airport. Friendly staff, nice beers, food was OK. I had the burger and it was reasonable (but nothing special).

Typical busy pub next to a busy railway station. Nothing distinguishable about the place; has indoor and outdoor street seating. Serves all the regular drinks. Price slightly higher than other pubs around.

Had mega breakfast here before travelling home to the west country.

Unfortunately a very sad experience. We sat down with my son in a half-empty restaurant and fairly quickly ordered chicken wings, nachos and a son burger. The nachos and wings came quickly, I finished and the burger was nowhere to be found. 5, 10, 15 minutes, nothing, service only in the other part of the restaurant. In the end, despite the fact that he saw his son's cutlery, the barman asked if we would like something else, we remembered with food. Ah, surprise, not ordered...error. Ok, he excused himself and went to the kitchen. We immediately ordered another drink. Nothing else happened until after 10 minutes he came to check what kind of burger we wanted...after a while he came again that it would only take 5 minutes. No drinking anywhere. It took another 15!! minutes, but when he brought the drink he said it would be on his account for the long wait. Ok, forgiven for the moment. The burger arrived in another 10 minutes. Then this bartender disappeared. I'll cut it short, we waited 55 minutes for 1 burger in a half-empty restaurant. We quickly paid so that we could arrange something else, unfortunately I found out from the bill outside that they also charged the drink that was supposed to be on their account.

Booked two night break for myself and husband. We were attending a concert in Wembley on the second night and I trained in St Mary's and hadn't been back since I left in 2003. We arrived early and couldn't check in as rooms were not ready but we were able to leave our case . When we did check in at 4pm . The room was spotlessly clean , nicely decorated . Bathroom was nice - water was nice a hot with lovely shampoo, conditioner and shower gel . The mattress on the bed was unbelievablely comfortable but sadly the pillows were awful with minimal stuffing and no support. The bar atmosphere was OK staff were dutiful and carried out their tasks but never developed much of a rapport and didn't go out of their way with help . We paid £474/E538 for 2 nights with no breakfast which was expensive for what we got . We ate the first night - average tasting but lovely and hot in fairness Location is its biggest asset

We booked here for 3 nights. The room was over $400CDN a night…. But figured it was London. Our room at top of pub..57 steep windy steps to a small room. Drag your luggage up yourself….no help offered or available. We are 70 year old women. No one came in 3 days for any housekeeping….towels etc. Stayed for a Sunday Roadt Beef dinner. They forgot the order…. We had to ask for it. It was tough to eat….and they then added a tip!!!

Friendly bar close to the station, great food and drinks

Good vibrant atmosphere. Nice selection of drink's. Only thing that let this place down was the appalling smell and cleanliness of the toilets both male and female.

The food and coffee were nice but the staff were downright rude and abrupt and unfriendly . I had to go off looking for the condiments my self as well . Will never be going back here ! You really need to up your game pride of Paddington with the staff as they couldn’t care about the customers .

Rip off service charge of 12.5% on food. If you are going to impose a service charge customers expect a proper dining area with tablecloths and waitress service. If we have to order at the bar and sit at a bare table we expect to pay the bare price.

Decor and atmosphere very fitting for the area. Staff were bubbly and it was busy but service was in a timely manner.

The bad grade is because without warning or saying anything they have charged me the maximum tip.

I writing a review with a 1-star rating because I experienced what I believe to be racial discrimination. I walked in today for the first time and went to the bar. I asked the bartender if I should order at the bar. She kindly told me if I am ordering food then sit at any table, the menus are on the table, and her colleague will come take my order. I took a table, took my time to look at the menu, then set it down. A woman, whom I thought at first to be the waitress was interacting with a patron who sat two table to my left, about 5 feet away. But she joked and conversed with the patron and I thought maybe that's not the waitress. A young man glanced at my table and stood in front of it, looking toward the TV. I thought he was another patron. Until, he signaled to the woman who was interacting with the patron to my left and alerted her to a couple who sat down after me at a table directly in front of me, about 10 feet away. The woman said, "Oh, sorry," and went to them with her note pad. Turns out she was the waitress. As she went over there, I tried to catch her attention - I smiled and waved. We made eye contact. She proceeded to take their order. I waited. When she finished with them, I tried to catch her attention again, but she went the other away to a party sitting at a booth and took their order. Then she walked past my table to go to the computer station which was next to the patron on my left. As she walked by, I said, "May I order too?" As she walked by, she looked at me again. She kept walking and I said it again a second time, a little louder, thinking that she probably didn't hear me, as it is a pub. The table directly in front of me heard me because the lady sitting there looked at me and gave me a sympathetic smile. While the waitress entered the two orders into the computer, I caught the attention of the young man, who turned out to be a staff who set out the place settings and condiments for customers. He took direction from the waitress. But each time he looked at me, he then looked away. I waited for the waitress to finish entering the orders, looking at her to catch her attention, but she turned around and disappeared. I waited a couple more minutes and I made eye contact again with the young man who had alerted the waitress to the other customers that sat down after me. But he look away and walked away. I concluded that I was not going to be served or acknowledged. I got up and as I walked out, I stopped at the bar to tell the bartender who initially directed me to take a seat that no one took my order. She looked surprised and asked, "No one took your order?" I said no and I've been sitting there the whole time. She looked genuinely disappointed and sorry for me and said, "I'm sorry." I walked out. The only conclusion I have for this experience is I was the only Asian in the room and everyone else was white. The three parties that the waitress tended to around me were white. I was skipped and others were served. They noticed me sitting there. I wasn't rude to them because I didn't even get to interact with them before I was getting ignored. They were a few feet away from me, stood in front of me, walked by me, and made eye contact with me. But I was not served. And the only difference I could observe between me and the patrons the waitress and the staff helper did serve was I am Asian and the other 3 parties were white. I did not see another Asian in the pub. I was the only one. I don't normally post negative reviews even if I have a bad experience at a restaurant. But racial discrimination and racism at an establishment has to be called out. Nobody should be treated that way, to be treated as less than others based on ethnicity. I think that is shameful. I am hopeful that things can change for the better.

Fish & Chips were soooo good. The atmosphere is typical british, I liked it very much. Next to the Paddington Station. The Service was brilliant.

The pub was Great, big enough portions of food, nice music to drink all the beers that they have!! The breakfast was Grate and full! The service excellent

A real English feel pub, food to order. But coming from the north the prices are way over the top. £7.10 for a pint I don't care if it's the capital or not is completely out of order. London needs to lower its price for those who are not on London wages.

Best English Breakfast I have had for a long time.

Can't really judge the food as we had a booking for 630 on Saturday evening. Arrived and managed to find our own table as noone seemed interested in helping us. We got the menus and sat there for 25 mins waiting for someone to take our order. Alas , no joy , a few others seemed to be in the same situation. So we got up to leave and mentioned to the hostess we were leaving and the reason why. She didn't seem too bothered , so adios amigos 🤷‍♂️ check my other reviews for where we went after for a super dinner 😋

Very popular pub. Serves traditional pub fayre. Has sport and train arrival and departure board. Decent choice of beer and lager. Really lovely staff. Street parking is fair and is free after 6.30pm

Hello mate, thanks for reading and following along my london journey. I'm visiting from Sacramento California. . I came here to meet up my yelper friend who happened to be visiting the same time as me without planning together. My friend lives 10 minute walking distance. So I said we must be extra and get a selfie together. It's hard to meet up at home when we live so close to each other. But traveling and no planning to happened to be at the same place, it best be a priority we meet or It's a shame on you situation for not making a little time to catch up lol and have a selfie. . The pub is casual and has lots of seating. Nothing fancy like a pub you would see at other spots like a dark classy rustic vibe for a pub. What I imagine is like lots of dark woods, velvet chairs, high tops, one men drinking beers and smoking a cigar like movies lol. . It was cool though, music wasn't too loud and we just caught up on where and when we have went in london so far. Bathroom was small like all norther places, at least it's not upstairs or downstairs. . The beer I had was a light beer, bier Amstel and another london pride beer. The beer temperature isn't freezing cold like the states in london. I want it icy cold. But the beer taste so fresh and bubbly. . Again thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day. Good food good service both time we visited. The Sunday roast is to die for!

Good beer, nice atmosphere and close to the hotel

The train makes the building tremble every 10 minutes. The service is really minimal

Had a small table, which, half of it i gave up to a Canadian family of five so they could sit and have a meal together. After two pints of lager, i was then forced to leave as they booked the table i was then left sitting at, for someone else. No consultation or anything... no apology, explanation, or anything... just put down a table reserved sign with a time (15 minutes later). Basically, if you are not eating, they are not keen to keep the customers! I had four hours to kill and wasn't ready to eat when they wanted me to eat. Shame, really, as I then went down the road and was fed very nicely in the Fountains Abbey! Perhaps the team needs training in some customer relations etiquette... you know, ask the customer if they are eating first, would you like some menus, sir?

Nice traditional pub right next to paddington station. Good atmosphere, it was nice to sit by the street at a table and watch people pass by and enjoy the day with a delicious beer.

We were there just over a week ago, shortly after checking into our hotel in Paddington. It's exactly what you'd imagine a typical British pub to be. The atmosphere is cool and perfect for anyone looking for that authentic pub feel. The food and beer were delicious. However, the toilet is an imposition, especially for men. They offer the option to order via an app, which we thought was pretty cool and used. However, it is advisable to reserve a table as it is usually very busy. And you should avoid the tables at the back, which are in front of the toilet, as it smells quite unpleasant there."

I didn't stay in the rooms, so I can't comment on those, but I came in at 0730 for breakfast and had a full English. It looked amazing. It was nice, too. The only thing that let it down was that the bread was very hard and a bit cold - I couldn't cut it at all. Apart from that though, it was lovely! The staff were friendly and the music was so good! Some great tunes. The coffee was nice, too.

Stopped in for a cheeky drink and snack before catching my train home. Not only is the proximity to Paddington station(a block away) a huge plus but the environment and atmosphere are very warm and welcoming, a bonus . The employees were friendly a pleasant, the food was tasty, served hot and a good value. Will definitely return when next in the area

Although the location was great being right next to the station, the rooms lacked a lot of care. They didn't do housekeeping, which isn't a big deal on its own but would have been nice to know ahead of time. However, the mirror in the room was cracked and all the sheets had weird stains on them. The double bed was two mattresses pushed together. Again not a big deal except they didn't put any sort of mattress pad on top leading to a big seam right in the middle of the bed and making it very uncomfortable. If someone rents a double bed it's a safe bet they have a partner. If someone has a partner they usually want to cuddle without messing up their back on a giant dip and crack in the middle of the bed. They say that they are committed to energy saving by having motion lights and such. Under the counter in our sink it was never caulked so you can see straight outside and all the cold air comes in. (Unfortunately I forgot to get a photo during the daylight where you can see light shining in but to the people who run it go check under your bathroom counters and you will feel a freezing breeze as well as the alleyway). I wonder how much energy they spend trying to heat that room? It was certainly always very cold. We didn't try the pub. At one point the fire alarm went off and staff were up very quickly checking so points for that. Overall I don't think we would stay there again. For how much it cost there were just way too many issues. Also for anyone who wants to stay in the future heads up there's a long windy staircase to all the rooms.

Wonderful breakfast and the service is amazing and friendly.

The staff were awful. They were rude and dismissive. At one point all the staff stopped serving and huddled around and were eating chips and chicken strips, licked their fingers and then served food and drinks by touching the glass people will drink out of and the plates they eat from. It was clear no manager was on as they just did their own thing.

The food is delicious. Very good beer.

If you want a traditional British breakfast, go to the pub. Not a culinary triumph, but just the thing itself. Of course, this time I made a big etiquette mistake and changed tea to koki... My stomach was full, this set will last you well into the afternoon.

Can't comment on the room as just went in for a pint or two, the dropped stars for service as I kept getting charged different amounts for my wifes wine, I would also say the mens toilet was broken and floor visibly covered in liquid.

Interesting pub opposite Paddington Station. Football on two screens (usually two different matches). Great beer at reasonable London prices. Never seen a departures board in a pub before, but I guess this is ideal for someone waiting for their train without the mither of checking in across the road!

There’s no wifi or bag storage. Not helpful as a tourist.

Nice pub. Very convenient to the Hilton and the Paddington station. Very good food. Had a couple of pints and fish and chips. Would recommend for supper and definitely a pint.

Nice cozy room in a hotel with a great location right next to Paddington station. The service was unfortunately not so good - on arrival we stood in front of reception for about 15 minutes and were ignored by the staff throughout. The rooms were very clean but the wifi was so slow that it was impossible to use.

Disapointed when cash was refused. I'd already been in for coffee at breakfast time, staff were friendly and helpful, I didn't see any signs saying no cash and paid happily with a card...I'm not opposed to using a card..However there MUST be a cash option. Later that evening we returned to have a meal and drinks and there were NO CASH ACCEPTED signs on the bar. We left and took business elsewhere. Staff 10/10 Acceptance of legal tender 0/10

Like many places in London, the rooms are a bit small. But it is clean and has a good layout. The shower is a bit of a struggle to negotiate. The only other challenge is the stairs. If you have luggage ask for something on the 1st floor.
