The best restaurants serving British food in East of England

Great service, food was okay. Husband and I ate majority of our meal. Kids dinner was basic. Waitress was very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, she brought over colouring for our child and accommodated us when our food arrived with condiments.

My band rehearse in the function room most Mondays so last week I decided to book for Sunday lunch as we came here for Christmas lunch and it was amazing as was todays Sunday lunch the beef was very tender and all the vegetables were very tasty as well, The Owls About guy came in with his Owls and they were a big hit with dinners they sat on top of the chairs so well behaved just topped a great Sunday lunch. Big thank you to Louise and all the staff for making everyone feel welcome and relaxed

My parents have been here multiple times and recommended it as a great place for my 30th birthday meal! The food is incredible! Firstly, the menu is so varied and I wanted SO many things on there, it was hard to choose. I settled for the starter of Beef Croquettes with Wasabi Mayo and my main was beef rendang with rice. Both were delicious and full of flavour. I also tried the Bang Bang Cauliflower which was SO tasty! The highlight of the meal was the apple crumble though .. beautifully sweet and sugary. It is expensive here but so worth it for the quality! Thank you for making my birthday so special!

Came here today off the boat and it did not disappoint. We had pizza, chicken burger and gammon. Portion sizes were huge and we were full up for the night. Great selection of beers and takeaway options too. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Will try and come back before our week ends 💙

We were seated quickly without booking despite it being busy. It is a lovely, warm atmosphere with a brilliant selection of food and drinks (for our dog too!). The waitress Maddie was attentive and friendly and gave great food recommendations.

Just popped in for a quick drink but ended up having 3 and a meal due to it bring a nice cozy and super friendly pub .

I am 21years old and I have been sent back to my car for my ID for a small breakfast I had my car keys in my hand and have tattoos . I am outraged that you have to be over the age of 16 for a breakfast in this day in age

What a great pub! Went for a long lunch and was greatly impressed with the choices on the menu. We had the prawn tempura sourdough toastie, yuzu mayo and salad… wow was delish! Prawns perfectly cooked, still crunchy, salad fresh and with a lovely dressing. Followed by dessert and coffee, all to a high standard. We were made to feel at home by the excellent service provided by Ben, thank you, nothing was too much trouble. We have already put our next visit in our diaries.

The pub has a warm, welcoming feel with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The food was excellent — proper homecooked meals, full of flavour and clearly made with care. It’s the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy good company, and have a great meal without any fuss.

We came here for my husband's birthday meal and were so glad we did! He chose the tuna which was perfectly cooked with interesting and delicious accompaniments and I had the perfectly-cooked cheese omelet. Both meals were outstanding - it's quite common for both omelets and delicate fish to be overcooked and they're a good test of the competence of the kitchen staff! So well done to the team. We were too full for dessert and ordered flat white coffees which unfortunately were a great disappointment - a large mug of something not very nice from a powdered milk type machine. However, we will be back for another, hopefully faultless, meal!

The food was brilliant, we had a varied choice, each of us choosing an item we thoroughly enjoyed. Cannot fault the food. Sadly we felt let down by the volume of a few of the staff. Not only in voice but when clearing tables, the cacophony of voice, plates and cutlery is why I can only give 3 stars. Not all the staff were loud, just 2.
