Waitress was pleasant and the view was excellent. Poor quality burger and chips. A mug of black coffee served with a small jug of milk is the answer to a flat white. With an increase in hot drink knowledge and good quality food, this would be a super place to dine.

Meant to visit long ago to see what it was like, we weren't disappointed. We had booked to go to another Suffolk pub where we were regulars but after reading several recent reviews on Tripadvisor decided against it at the last minute. Needing a dog friendly pub for Sunday lunch to meet friends limits things but we managed to get in at The Dog at the time we wanted. Service was maybe a little on the slow side but as we were catching up with friends that we hadn't seen for a year we didn't really notice. Nice atmosphere in the bar are where we were seated and staff were very helpful as I was the designated driver and needed low alcohol beer, given a reasonable choice by the young man taking the order. The white wine apparently was very good too. We all ended up having Sunday roasts, 2 pork and 2 beef and both were spot on. Decent size portions and not overloaded and piled high on the plate (one of my pet hates) One of us asked for only one potato and more vegetables and that was no bother at all. One potato arrived with a nice portion of green beans. Value wise - no complaints at all. We've had much worse Sunday roasts and paid a lot more for them. A pity it's so far away for us as we would happily be regulars.

Such a shame as it feels you are still operating a limited menu like we are still in lock down (main course all with chips) ) A locals opinion, it feels both the Lion and White Horse are targeting only transient clientele through holiday season and why maybe, they are quieter out of season where public houses with good old âEnglish foodâ for the local community are a busier. Both great pubs, staff lovely, but the food really needs some attention and love and updating!

Very disappointing food. Artificial flavours spoilt the meal completely. The sardines on sourdough were nice but the bread was horrible. The pork ribs were covered in a highly flavoured sauce which spoilt them and even the side salad tasted like it had a bottled dressing. The risotto sounded great but again did not taste freshly made. Not a good experience.

Around 18 of us had the Anchor booked for lunch and it was very very good. Welcoming friendly staff and an obviously excellent chef. Eighteen orders served at the same time, all hot and superbly cooked. If you are looking for a good lunch in Woodbridge then this is the place to go.

Had Sunday lunch here with the family to celebrate a 70th birthday. This was my second visit to eat here, the first time was excellent and so it was this time. Three of us had Lamb Kleftiko and two had pork belly. Food came hot flavoursome. Service was excellent and good value for quality food. If you like salad, they are every bit as good as you would get in Greece. Canât fault it for friendliness, service and food.

Food presentation is abysmal; every course is served in bowls. Starter Fenland Chicken served in small desert bowl, on top of a very small salad (a garnish), not at all easy to manage to cut etc really needed to be on a small plate, I just gave up trying and my husband managed to eat most of mine as well as his. The mains then arrived in bowls too...Mine had sloppy mashed potato, topped with a small lamb shank then covered with red cabbage, not an appetising sight. I scrapped the cabbage to one side and removed the bone which I had to put on a napkin as there was no space for it, and once again cutting was very awkward at an angle and I had to move the meat off the potato, not an enjoyable meal... My husbandâs meal of Porchetta (Stuffed Belly Pork) also arrived in a bowl stacked on one half of sloppy mashed potato and the other half red cabbage which looked very messy and not at all appetising. The pork was tough and hard to cut made even worse by being served in a bowl, and was very bland tasting. We ordered desert, a couple of scoops of ice cream for my husband which my husband said was the best part of the meal as it came as expected and had not been messed about with. I ordered Treacle Sponge with ice cream which arrived in a deep sided soup bowl (about 5 inches deep) with the ice cream on top of hot sponge, Although the angle of maneuver was awkward I had to agree with my husband that the sponge was the best part of my meal too.

Amazing overnight stay here. Luke was so friendly and everything about our time was lovely. The food at lunch and dinner were exceptional. The carrot & coriander soup was hot and delicious. We had a late checkout which meant we left really relaxed. Would highly recommend. We will be back for Sunday lunch soon!

I was greeted by "we don't cater for gluten free diets". Fortunately my husband was not with me, I was out with a friend. After discussing the low risk of cross contamination for me, I was offered two main course options and a dessert. Food was good and well presented. We had to go to the bar to remind them to take our order, again to ask for a desert and again to ask for the bill. At no time were we offered another drink, such a shame as sales across the bar must be really poor. Why don't staff get trained in good service anymore đ«€

Had a delicious lunch with a group of friends, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. We all enjoyed our food, nobody was disappointed with their choice. Portions were a good size and the quality was excellent. As the weather was warm, we sat outside for a drink before going to our table inside. Would highly recommend.
