Had the Harry Potter afternoon tea and it was so lovely! The decorations were for on theme and well thought out. The food was also very tasty but I especially loved the themed cakes. The cocktail (that was made alcohol free for me) was also amazing. Lastly, the service was immaculate so thank you!

Went there today honestly was very disappointed, the sausage was mushy meaning its low quality as in high fat low meat content, the chips were okay nothing special tho. Staff were lovely althought did confuse orders. Won't be going again. So as promised I tried it but was sadly disappointed.

I can't recommend enough. Fish was fab, chips lovely and fresh, staff amazing. Stayed in Southend as attending a concert at the Cliffs Pavilion the next day. Had a long drive with my mum who has dementia and her carer. Original restaurant I had earmarked was busy, so asked a local friend for a chippy we could sit in and she mentioned the perfect plaice.. and it was. The manager couldn't have been any more friendly, kind and helpful, considering it was very busy as it was early on a Friday evening. My mum thoroughly enjoyed everything which is rare and the cup of tea she had was perfect and she is a tea expert having drunk oodles of it in her 88 years. Thank you again for making this part of our trip very easy.

Awful food. Had the fish and chips, the batter was rock hard, almost burned, the fish was soo dried up it was non existent, and the chips had been heavily salted. I then ordered the sticky toffee pudding, it was more like a syrup pudding and not a very good one, The serving staff were lovely, really helpful and friendly.

Had the ham, egg and chips for lunch and there was only one razor thin piece of ham on the plate. It was so thin I couldn't even taste it. I think the management are very stingy to pass this off as a portion and I will never go back there again or recommend the place because of this. That being said, the broccoli and stilton soup was divine as was the dark Belgian chocolate tart. I wish I had have complained at the time now but I didn't want to spoil the occasion and the waitress was so lovely. This is all on the management to ask the kitchen staff to serve up such meagre portions of ham. A very short sighted way to do business in my opinion. What a shame.

We booked here as a birthday meal. Having decided to try somewhere different for us , this was very much a random choice. Which turned out very well as this is a most delightful restaurant. With a relaxing ,gentle atmosphere but not too quiet (we ate early so it hadn't got too busy) , the gentleman looking after us was friendly and very helpful with our questions on the menu. The food was served quickly, hot and fresh made, and if Potuguese food is your thing , will not disappoint. Thoroughly recommended, we'll be returning.
