The best restaurants serving British food in Norwich East of England

We went to Tatlers on Saturday evening, we were a group of 6 and what a great experience it was, the atmosphere was perfect, the staff could not have done more to make it a memorable experience and the food was wonderful and all at a very reasonable price. Thanks to all the team, we will spread the word and we will be back.

The Britons Arms is a well known building at the top end of Elm Hill in Norwich, built in 1537, it's been around for quite a while. For many years it was only open during the day to refresh the hoards of tourists wandering up and down the cobbled street with tea, coffee and sticky buns, but no longer. From Thursday to Saturday it is now open until 9:00 pm for some of the best home cooked food in the city. I had a lamb shoulder with stewed veg and dumpling that was to die for, very tasty and everything perfectly cooked, we will be visiting here again very soon, delicious!

Came for a Lord Tavener’s event and the food was exceptional. From the Arancini to the Panna Cotta it was all amazing. The lemon and. basil sorbet was an amazing surprise that blew me away. Would highly recommend.

This place is amazing. We go two or 3 times a year and love it every time. The Belgian Choc desert is absolutely fantastic and we have their special cream with it. Haven't found anywhere else that comes close.

Great place to have a Sunday Roast. Food was delicious, all of it. Service a tad slow, but there was only 2 of them, and they were very lovely young people. Absolutely highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed!

Cracking little real ale and cider pub. Not a drop of bloody inch's in sight, and more the better for it. 12 odd ciders from the barrel and about the same number of beers. 15 mins walk from the city centre but come up the riverside and it's much nicer. A must visit pub in Norwich with a great and knowledgeable landlord &team.

Popped in here with friends for a morning coffee and pastry. Really enjoyed our first visit. Plenty of seating. Good choice of pastries and snacks. Similar pricing to other local coffee stops. Would recommend as somewhere new for a coffee with friends or family.

We got there on a Friday evening. The table was booked in advance online. We found seating too close together. I could touch my neighbour seating by just raising my arms to the side, which made me feel uncomfortable. It took a long while to ask if we were ready to order our food. Food took too long to prepare, approximately 50 minutes wait, then my food had to go back to the kitchen and be remade as it didn't come as ordered. Also,when I ordered the food, I requested an upgrade to sweet potato fries, and the waitress did tell me that might not be possible. I was expecting her to come and let me know before I received my meal, but that never happened. The atmosphere was okay but too hot and the music was not a relaxed volume to sit and enjoy our meal. The food was mediocre and not worth waiting nearly an hour for. I wouldn't return again due to the cost and level of service we received. The place needs air conditioning, taking out one set of table and chairs so it would be more comfortably spaced and more private.

Stayed recently, and I did like being there other than the staff refusing to accept scottish money saying. we have had a scottish forgery so we dont accept any scottish money (really). The most commonly forged currency in the uk is a bank of England £20 note. There are many ways to verify if money is genuine pens and machines. This prejudice needs to stop. Post office state Scottish money is accepted but not given back out except in Scotland. And all banks will accept Scottish notes.

Came here recently for the first time to go for drinks with friends. Really nice inside (though much smaller than it looks from the outside!), and staff were friendly too.

Went to this fish and chips shop today . And wooow what can I say everything I ordered was cooked fresh to order nothing pre cooked. The owners of the shop are really friendly and make me feel very welcome . Great food really tasty . If you have chance to go there please do and experience their great food .

Coffee was luke warm so asked for it to be heated and was told they would just make a fresh one-great I thought. The replacement was exactly the same. Such a shame as nice place and staff.

Perfect host , Perfect food .couldn't fault it. Yummy food. Had breakfast last week and it was the best breakfast I've had out .

I never normally write reviews but the Seoul burger with loaded fries is banging!! 2nd time ordering now, it's now one of my favourite places to eat
