The best restaurants serving British food in Harlow East of England

This is my local coffee shop , all the staff are friendly and a real community feel . Great coffee and great cakes .

Amazing experience! Debbie and Sarah amazing as was the guy serving out meats. Really Feb meal. The gammon is the best I’ve had, and I eat gammon where ever I go. Well done Cannons Brook golf club.

Wonderful service as always staff and students very polite and friendly. Food was superb steaks were absolutely amazing. Had a lovely lunch with our daughter. Highly recommend and such great value.

Went here for a breakfast no salt or pepper or any thing on tables paid £9 for a breakfast no tea or coffee inc was very basic food and not much of it. I have had many breakfast.s all over and this was the worst so far

Lovely relaxed meal. Menu had lots of choices, everything ass beautifully cooked and service impeccable. A really enjoyable evening.

Pretty mixed experience - between two of us we had six of the tapas options. A couple of them were very nice (Cauliflower especially good and also enjoyed the Patatas Bravas) but most were somewhere between poor and mediocre. The squid was pretty obviously frozen and the prawns were fairly tasteless in a very anaemic sauce. Also took around 45 minutes to arrive (although granted it was a saturday evening). Place felt somewhat short staffed as well and found the decor a bit odd, as though someone had been to a car boot sale/charity shop and purchased every cheap painting they could find and put it up in any old random order. Very weird. Overall not the best and probably won't be back, but there were some decent dishes and it wasn't inedible just not great.

Friendy staff welcoming really warm cosy pub

Stayed here this week for the first time with work and wanted to review as this place is absolute class!! The rooms are immaculate clean and the restaurant food is piping hot and tasty... All of the staff members i have met have gone above and beyond to help and made my weeks stay the best ever!!! The restaurant staff are friendly and helpful throughout your meal. Its a credit to Joe the (Owner manager) who you often see are the Green Man as i couldn't fault anything and highly recommend The green man hotel and restaurant you wont be disappointed one bit 👍

Asked for a large chips with no salt. Got a regular chips if that with salt. Won't be going there again. £3.85 for nothing, you get double the amount in most places.

We had a lovely waitress named Amy and she made our night absolutely lovely, she was so attentive and kind, she made our experience even better! The food was also absolutely amazing!

Picked the cookhouse + pub as a pit stop during a long drive (France to Yorkshire) on 04.01.25 - Reasonably close to the M11 and had Tesco next door for fuel. Warm welcome on entrance and were advised immediately they were having some supply issues and the menu wasn’t fully available, still a variety to choose from. We were asked about allergies, I have recently discovered issues with gluten and whilst I can tolerate smaller amounts it’s easier to eat GF, I was given a printed allergen list to help me order. I asked if it was possible to amend another menu item and after a quick check with the kitchen it was agreed. Only 2 staff working the restaurant, it wasn’t busy but they were both working tirelessly. Food was served fresh and promptly and can’t fault the service at all. Will bear this place in mind for future was worth the short detour from the motorway to get a proper meal and not fast food from the services.

Went for dinner park in car park and today get a parking fine when say you get free for couple hours will not be returning Toby again.
