Overall a pleasant experience. The food could be hotter, luke warm at best, the staff are friendly though & a relaxed atmosphere, had to hunt down sauce bottles but you get your moneys worth as the prices are very reasonable especially the after 2pm special menu, think about 7 or 8 choices is under £8 including a drink, so yes we will be returning

we ordered at the bar and the service was quick. we had two large vegetarian breakfast meals and it was super filling as i didn’t need to eat until dinner😂 the meal did not disappoint. prices are cheap and there was refillable drinks for £1.35. would recommend 👍

Food was cold & 1 was frozen so all had to go back. The food was clearly pre frozen & reheated in chef Mic (Microwave) but not checked if hot properly which is very dangerous could cause food poisoning. The next day we all had the runs, gas & feeling sick. If we wanted microwave meal we would have gone to the supermarket & bought 1 it would have been cheaper oh we would have made sure it was reheated properly. The place was also very short staffed. We would never eat there again.

Good Wetherspoons. We go here often. Plenty of seating, good food, friendly staff. Their chicken wings, burgers and fish and chips are good. Decent choice of drinks. Parking options are limited.

Large Wetherspoons. Love using the app, direct payment, and table service. Nice mixed grill and pint of beer for £11

great ambiance in the pub especially in the mornings. prices are more than reasonable and food quality is decent and usually very quick. can feed the family for a tenner which in my opinion is cheaper than doing a food shop from asda. one of the best places to come out in harlow

Good value for money. Has plenty of seating and the place is stretched out so always possible to grab a spot and make it yours for the evening. Part of the wetherspoon chain, so most people know what they like on their menu. Town centre location also ideal. Not so busy

Bacon served up as a crisp cheap I admit but it was a crisp. Promised to change it but had to go and chase it up after I had finish the rest of the meal

I found the food was ok and it was brought out quickly but there's very little interaction with the staff who don't even ask if all is ok. The way of ordering may be convenient but it's very impersonal.

Let's be real. It's the Harlow spoons. What are you hoping to get from the experience? Temper your expectations.

Good prices on drinks, first shipyard was flat and tasted off but bartender was happy to replace it with another drink. Good choice of sambuca shots lots of flavours.

Great selection of ales, food OK, was a great place to meet up with old friends.

Worst weatherspoons I've been to so far had to go outside to warm up.

Popped in for breakfast and was surprised by what they had to offer and was nicely surprised by the bottomless coffee.... the barstaff was really helpful and the locals seemed friendly too. Would defently go back next time I'm up this way.

Used because we were pushed for time and we are familiar with menu. Table not clean and wasn't wiped during our visit. Usual noisy customers that grate into your conversation. That said, food reasonable quality and certainly cheap. Coffee good and toilets clean. One of my least favourite Wetherspoons and regrettably consistently poor.

It's a Wetherspoons. In Harlow. That being said, you know what you're going to get and there's always a relaxed vibe. Ordering from your phone is the coup de grace!

I ordered a jacket potato cheese & beans the beans were dry, cheese a couple of shreds on top & the jacket potato was hard at the ends where it had been microwaved & wasn't even warm. My mum had Ham, egg & chips the chips were as dry as, ham was ok the egg wasnt cooked properly it was snotty on the top🤢. Sent email in to head office, someone from the pub contacted me via email, asking for reciept which I wasn't given & as I paid by cash it's my fault they can't do anything about it, I've sent a further email but they haven't responded as yet. The disabled toilet really smelt terrible, & wasn't that clean. Would I go back certainly not.

Waited 20 minute for 2 pints order on the app. Went inside to fetch it at the bar. Another 10 minute wait for pints that's been standing there for 30 minutes waiting to get served to us.

ordered food & drinks sat down then the waitress came over with our drinks and was very rude her tone of voice She said in a stern manner if you order drinks you have to wait for them at the bar which we didn't know all the other waitress were really pleasant

Nice cheap pub in the spoons chain with decent cheap food. However service has been horrible of late with missed drinks on table service orders. Please spoons employ more staff so these things do not get missed.

I've upped my 1 star rating from 6 years ago as the service has improved massively over the last couple of years. The Real Ale choice is getting better as well. Quiz nights on the frist Monday of the month are well done, if a little short. The rating is for a Wetherspoon, not a pub.

Upon receipt of the food i realised there was no chips. I went to enquire about the chips at the bar. The young lady at the bar told me that I had not ordered the chips. I explained that I ALWAYS order the same, but I would like to add the chips on the meals. Only to be told that they are extras and i should pay £7 plus for them. I said this has never been the case before I want to add the £1.30 chips 3 times to the meals ordered. The young lady slammed her hands on the bar and said ' I'm not serving you! I was surprised, then shocked, then unset. A customer told me , that the same young lady had got his order wrong too and was also not helping him. I explained that we always ordered the same thing because of or childs autism and could I speak to the manager. I explained to The manager, who said that she believes her staff and is not willing to help us. It's 'or own fault' for ordering wrong. I asked for her name so I could make a complaint she said No she does not have too and told me, my family is 'not welcome anymore ' beware everyone if you expressed your dissatisfaction, you are Barred!

Its wetherspoons. Think flat roof pub with a load of Harlow in it. Then, add a long wait to get a pint. The toilets are clean and the drinks are cheap. Didn't eat any food but it is wetherspoons, it would be the equivalent of rating a McDonald's. We already know what to expect It is the only place in the dying town centre where you can get a drink so by default it is the best place in town

Good food, reasonable price, and a pint of Guinness. What's not to like?

Very slow service... half five on a Saturday (17th June) and it took over half an hour to serve 3 other people and myself... Definitely gone downhill over the years. Didn't want to tempt getting food, the table next to us had ordered before we got there and was still waiting after we had finished our drinks. Editted to drop one star for the creepy response from "owner" and to add the date as requested

Staff was rude and not understanding took a drink in I brought from Asda put under table was not open went outside left it with mates then got taken away refused to give it back and got barred not understanding at all

Went for lunch with my friend. Never noticed it before. The staff were attentive. It was spacious. Perfect atmosphere and the food was lovely and very reasonable to boot. I couldn’t fault it and will definitely be going back. Chrissy

Great wetherspoons pub nice and big inside with great ales,great food at great prices

2 months after my original review we decided to chance breakfast. (We used to be regulars until our last experience below) We arrived at 11am and ordered our food and drinks by 11.05 via the app. Our coffee cups arrived within 5 minutes. At about 11.30 we were told there were no vegetarian sausages so we were offered a choice of swaps. (1 egg for 2 sausages!) At 11.50 our food still hadn't arrived. We were told there was a delay yet everyone else who had arrived after us had finished eating. We eventually ate at 12 after I chased our food up. When my husband had finished eating they brought a hash brown which had previously been missing. Honestly, we won't be bothering again, as this place has a habit of ruining our mood and our plans for the day with their ridiculous inability to serve food in a timely manner! --- Have had a few decent meals here so we generally return fairly regularly. However on this occasion I was extremely disappointed. We sat for 10 minutes with someone else's plates piled on the table and had to ask for them to be removed. The table was not wiped either. I ordered a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw as an extra. Also ordered drinks. The drinks came after the food and there was no glass incduded for my husbands bottled drink, a glass was offered and accepted but never came. The jacket potato had a thimbleful of grated cheese on it and the coleslaw didn't come, I was told it was coming separately. I had to chase it up. It arrived, the pot I had paid extra for was half full. I asked for it to be filled. By the time it came back full my food was stone cold and I had lost my appetite and my husband had finished his large brunch! They refunded me and were nice enough about it, but honestly I wish we hadn't come as it just really put me off the place. I appreciate it was busy. The place always seems sorely understaffed and despite the fact they're always rushing around the staff don't seem to see the jobs which need doing such as clearing tables etc.

Always enjoy visiting this venue. Excellent range of food and drinks as usual. Decor needs revamp though, very threadbare in places. Good staff and service generally, and parking close by if needed. Well worth a visit if in the area.

Came here for a bit of lunch. The QR code on the menu offered a nifty way to order from the table. Except the website is very unresponsive and some of the meal combos do not allow you to select all combo options, e.g. you can't add your drink choices. So I had my draft basket on the website and went up to the counter. I explained the website issue and the lady took the order from my phone screen, then reconfirmed my drink orders. I hadn't realised but one of the meal deals was put through without the deal, so was missing the chips and cost more. One of our group ordered the chicken burger and it turned up cold. Clearly cooked ages ago, dried out, then popped in the microwave for 30s. I assume thulis is standard practice in a place like this. For these prices, I don't expect great food. But I do expect hot chicken to be hot! But for less money, you can get significantly better food from most fast food joints. 2 stars and not 1 because: - the food was tolerable but not terrible (bar the cold chicken). - when we explained the above to the manager, she quickly sorted out the missing chips, and refunded us for the cold chicken. Credit to her customer service approach. It's been a good 5+ years since we've been to any JDW and probably 10+ years since we've been to this one. Based on today, I might stop into JDW for a drink but not to self: make sure to eat beforehand!

Outdated, and the toilets are miles away. (Standard for Wetherspoon 🤣) But does any of that matter. The staff are friendly. The food is decent. And the booze is cheap. Four stars. Five if the place was updated.

Took grandchildren. Had fish and chips, burger, chicken in basket and sirloin steak. Small pancakes, apple crumble, ice cream. Food was very good value, though steak was full of gristle. The puddings were again tasty, though out of custard and a very small scoop of ice cream was given as replacement. Had to ask for maple sauce, as was missing from pancakes. I have been in many Wetherpoons, but the William Alymer, unfortunately has the worst appearance. The tables are scratched, general air of neglect. The staff are very good, polite and friendly. Such a shame, Harlow deserves better. 5/10

Nice place to have food and meet people

After waiting over 50min for food (met with attitude from the server when I enquired where it was) at Pizza "Express" I walked out in disgust and came to the trusty old spoons. Ordered pizza on the app which arrived 9 min later. Makes you wonder how a spoons can manage it yet a restaurant whereby their job is Pizza can't. Well done spoons. Nice pizza and a nice cold pint.

Visited on the off chance, not a bad place but my thatchers had a funny taste. And someone was having an argument near us causing alot of noise. Probably won't return

Very poor meal today. 4 X cod and chips, 1 X 6oz burger and chips. Very small portions of chips and all the chips were luke warm and were stone cold before we finished our meal. Fish pieces were small and dried up as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Your new menu of using 3oz burgers instead of a larger 6oz burger was disappointing. We used to love your thick juicy burgers and lovely hot crispy chips. Was not good value for money. Will be looking else where for better quality of food and value for money next time. Sad to see this decline in Wetherspoons.

Worst place on the planet staff are awful they pour your drinks over you before you have even sat down, the staff are very confrontational and unprofessional, I would never go back or recommend anyone to go there and the door staff are appalling, the food is served stone cold and staff telling customers to either get on with it or leave and go somewhere else. This place is a disgrace and frankly whoever is running this pub is doing an absolute shambles.

What a sophisticated dining establishment with a superb atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Great environment for people all ages.

My sister and I came for breakfast, I ordered the small American breakfast and it came up stone cold, I returned it to a bar staff only to it being brought back to me having being zapped in the microwave, including the fried egg. Anyway it wasn't exceptible so the lady got onto her walkie talkie demanding a fresh one ASAP, letting everyone in the pub to know what was going on. Anyway the fresh breakfast came out only for the maple syrup to be so cold it must have just been poured from the fridge, and the hash brown was still frozen. The pub wasn't busy at the time, so I feel like this service really wasn't acceptable. The coffee from the self service machine was lovely though.
