Novo Lounge in Harlow

Pretty mixed experience - between two of us we had six of the tapas options. A couple of them were very nice (Cauliflower especially good and also enjoyed the Patatas Bravas) but most were somewhere between poor and mediocre. The squid was pretty obviously frozen and the prawns were fairly tasteless in a very anaemic sauce. Also took around 45 minutes to arrive (although granted it was a saturday evening). Place felt somewhat short staffed as well and found the decor a bit odd, as though someone had been to a car boot sale/charity shop and purchased every cheap painting they could find and put it up in any old random order. Very weird. Overall not the best and probably won't be back, but there were some decent dishes and it wasn't inedible just not great.

Good menu choice, enjoyed the wine, very friendly service, reasonably priced. Great atmosphere and very cosy in the evening.

My companion picked the venue which I had never been to before. Decor is nice and lighting subdued which I liked but it made reading the menu awkward. I noticed a couple on a neighbouring table using the torches on their phones to see the menu. Ordering is via a QR code or going up to the bar neither of which I was expecting - hardly relaxing. I have no objection to going to order at a bar or even clearing away my own plate (a la IKEA) but then I would expect a commensurate lower price which there doesn't seem to be here. I made a comment about this to the man at the bar saying I didn't expect this from a restaurant. He replied that they are not a restaurant but a cafe/ bar. Not friendly not apologetic. I ordered food at the bar. My companion ordered drinks via the QR code. No one came to see if we were okay. Food arrived and was lovely. The drinks didn't arrive as my companion hadn't navigated the app correctly and had to go and order at the bar. When you are eating out, the least you expect is some service. (They actually ask on the app if you would like to leave a tip for service!). It was lunchtime but the place was practically empty. Shame. It would be a great place for hanging out, working remotely but is too expensive for that and the staff too rude and unfriendly. I won't be going back.

A lovely place for a few drinks cosy set up. Cocktails are delicious. Food for us was hit and miss a few plated the food was hot then small lukewarm and some had ingredients missing but they dealt with it asap but we did notice that a few other diners were returning their food one told me it was cold and missing an item… for what we could see it was busy so I spose kitchen got in bit of a flap … lovely staff x

Beautiful restaurant, and the food was amazing!! Everything was cooked perfectly and service was outstanding!! Will definitely be back 👌🏻

Nice atmosphere and staff. Great coffee but after two visits and both times served a stale tea cake I will be going elsewhere.

A fun evening drinking cocktails and watching the weekly salsa class that goes on here. Our lovely waitress Zoe was the cherry on top of a great experience!

I’ve dinned here before and had a great experience. However the food last night was very disappointing. My husband and I both ordered the Kiev burger. I would have expected some garlic to be an ingredient in the Kiev burger but instead it was covered in coriander and a not ver pleasant cheese. My daughter ordered the Mac and Cheese with a side of garlic bread. Unfortunately she left hungry as the dry bread (no garlic to be seen or tasted) was again not very pleasant. I don’t like that they ask if you want to leave a tip when you pay before your meal, just feel how can you judge as soon as you sit down. And you don’t have a server you feel you can talk to when your food isn’t very good. I hear it’s good for breakfast so won’t right it off, but won’t bother for dinner.

It's so good to go to a restaurant where everyone working there seems to be genuinely having a good time! The food is varied and interesting. I love it when there's a separate vegan menu. I love it even more when the vegan menu fills a side of A3! The food came quickly and was delicious. Perfect birthday meal!

I came here with friends and was impressed by how spacious it is plus the quirky decor. There was also nice chilled out music playing in the background. We were all really happy with what we ordered. I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was absolutely delicious! The menu was quite varied and experimental. We all said that we will definitely come back in the future. Harlow needs more places like this.

I had butter chicken it came two pieces of flat chicken and looked nice But it was so over cooked i could not cut half of it one piece was very thin and hard the other piece was a bit thicker so was not so bad .you have to pay when you order if i had to pay after it came up i would have sent it back nobody asked if the meal was ok .my wife had a veg meal and said it was nice

Very nice restaurant with good value for money wasn't impressed on being charged for two non alcoholic cocktails which was only pineapple juice with aload of ice £12 for two that's a rip off but the place is nice decor and friendly staff.

First time visiting this venue, friendly welcome from the staff who explained either order from the app or come up to the counter. Menu had a great variety of choice , we only wanted a light bite so went for breakfast muffin. Service was very good and food was hot and tasty thank you

I really love this place, great staff, lovely vibe and always warmly welcomed. I ordered burger and chips with a side of onion rings, burger was really tasty, chips and onion rings were hot and crispy, however the portions are really small -there were about 15 fries and onion rings were £3.35 for 3 onion rings. Really tight, not worth ordering at that price. It was also really cold in there! Other than that i enjoyed our evening.

Had a really good overall experience; a good choice of food and drinks (the food quality was really good) staff had the right level of attentiveness which is a hard balance. The decor was amazing, the price was good value for money. a hidden little gem in the town centre. and very good customer service, would recommend to anyone wanting a quick bite or a party very amenable.

They were LOVELY I cannot stress this enough. Food was amazing, servers were friendly and so sweet. Definitely coming back.

I entered the restaurant at lunch around 12 and was warmly welcomed by the lady behind the bar. She kindly explained how it works. You can either order at the bar or via a QR code. I used the QR code. I ordered a pint of Estrella and the twisted chicken club and fries. The beer was served within 5mins and the food around 15mins. The beer was cold an crisp and kept its head well. The food was excellent and avg price for an establishment of this sort. The food arrived piping hot. The fries were crispy and the sandwich fresh and yummy. Kudo to the management. It's about time Harlow had places like this. I will be bringing my family back soon.

Spent a lovely sunny bank holiday afternoon here. Service was excellent, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Great choice on the menu and prices very reasonable. Cocktails were lovely, not watered down and very reasonably priced. The restaurant had a nice atmosphere and it is good to have somewhere to go as a couple for a nice meal out. My husband also said the mac & cheese side dish is the best he's ever had!! We will definitely be back.

This place could really be amazing and just what Harlow needs. I know the concept is casual but I really did not know who the staff were as they did not stand out from the customers, while I understood why this was it was almost impossible when I needed help with my food. The tapas is great but unfortunately all my chicken was cold on the souvlaki and the wings were very dry. This could definitely be a 5 star next time just by having hot food, also out cocktails took nearly 30 minutes to come by which time out food was finished and we were nearly ready to go. Great place though and hopefully next time these teething problems will have been sorted

Unplanned visit when we found Nando’s next door was closed for refurbishment. What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be. All was excellent from decor to menu to service. Only been open for a month, but we’d certainly missed hearing about any grand opening if there’d been one. We’ll be back for sure 😋🍽️🍷👍😁

Went for breakfast to try out the new restaurant, me and my boyfriend had the full English breakfast and it was delicious! Generous portions and fresh hot food. Would definitely recommend and will be back for dinner!

We’re still sitting here after having the most perfect breakfast and I couldn’t leave without leaving a review. We stumbled across novo lounge purely by accident, I haven’t seen it advertised anywhere at all (it’s been open a week) so we thought we’d give it a go. The menu is varied and well priced. A good selection of cocktails, with special offers on them, Sunday to Thursday. Open until 11pm, Sunday to Thursday and 12am Friday and Saturday. It’s gonna be a good evening venue, something that Harlow has been crying out for, for a long time. I’d highly recommend.

Noticed the new Novo Lounge a few days before it opened and after checking the menu was eager to check it out. Came here for lunch now it's opened and 5 stars doesn't even do it justice... staff were instantly very welcoming and explained how to order food which can be done at either the bar or on your phone... I ordered a raspberry lemonade and my girlfriend a coke. Ordered the drinks first because we needed to take our time to decide exactly what we wanted as the menu has such a wide variety of choices. I finally chose the get the Nasi Goreng rice and my girlfriend ordered the lounge breakfast. OH MY GOD, my Nasi Goreng was UNREAL. Just the right amount of spice whilst also being able to taste the sweetness as well. Needless to say I polished every bit off, too quickly unfortunately. My girlfriends breakfast was exactly what you would expect from a breakfast but there was one star of the show.... the hash browns!!! We both agreed they had to be the best hash browns we had ever had, crispy on the outside, soft and hot on the inside!!! Throughout the staff regularly checked we was okay and if we needed anything more just to add to the warm and welcoming vibe we got! Novo Lounge, we WILL be coming back!!
