Toby Carvery in Harlow

First time here and very pleasantly surprised, Very affordable and very welcoming staff Thank you Dee! for your lovely smile.. Will definitely come again!

Came here while working away from home. After a long day on site, a belly full of proper food is what you need. Staff were pleasant. Very fast service. Excellent food and very cheap (£15 with a refill and I can’t move)

Went for a 7yr olds birthday party, 8 7yr olds, a 13yr old and 2 stressed adults.. and I have to say our server Dee was absolutely amazing and on the ball, she had the patience of a saint. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Thank you Dee

Sam was our server for our table. Professional knowledgeable helpful and friendly. The Carver Mike again Professional helpful and friendly. Both did their jobs exceedingly well. Always enjoy our meals there each month.

Dee was great, the service was really good considering how busy it was! Food was also really nice, and the desserts came out really quickly!

A massive thank you and shoutout to Alfie for being such a lovely server! Upon being seated he came over to take our orders promptly and I informed him at the time my sugar levels were extremely low and if he would be able to bring over the drinks(glasses) first. He went above and beyond and filled up my drink for me which was the kindest and most accommodating gesture! Thank you for all your help Alfie!

Alisha our waitress at the Harlow Toby was lovey. Friendly and gave a great service. We had the carvery, but have to say the veg was looking a bit dry, but we did go in during a quiet period. Other than that all was great and will say Alisha is a credit to Toby Carvery.

We take our Granddaughter a couple times a month on Friday afternoon for a roast dinner. The staff have always been very welcoming to us and Laura our waitress was excellent. She explained the options well as our little granddaughter is dairy intolerant and despite being very busy she was very professional, prompt and friendly. As was Mike the meat carver. The meat that we had ( beef and turkey ) was very tender and there was a good selection of vegetables that were cooked well. A very nice experience. Thank you.

Staying an overnight visit at the Travelodge and pleased to see the Toby Carvery on the site. Served by Donna who was top notch in a busy restaurant. Beef excellent so well done to the kitchen.

Great welcome and the usual great selection of food. Dee was a great server - friendly and professional. The carvery meat was excellent and the choice of vegetables was amazing. The pudding choices are really tempting and the quality was excellent.

Often use the Toby as good value and the only place where I can get a good variation of vegetables with the meat.

Our waitress was very pleasant but she had far too many tables to look after especially as she was pregnant. Bless her she was rushed off her feet. As for the food well I certainly won’t be in a rush to go back ! We went on a Tuesday early evening for a birthday gathering (9) which was busier than I would have expect. There was only one person servicing/carving so waited quite a while in the queue. Portion sizes were quite small on meat but plenty of veg on offer however, it was really overcooked and very messy. I decided on just a few roast potatoes but they weren’t great so left most of it. I know people help themselves and sometimes don’t worry about the mess they leave behind but it would be better if another person was behind the counter trying to keep it presentable. Gravy was cold and awful. Parking is a problem but obviously beyond their control

The service was amazing from Kim! She went above and beyond for us as it was my friends birthday, really made the day special. Will definitely be recommending this place and has really been cleaned up by the new and permanent manger!!

Very poor customer care at the carvery counter. The ‘lady chef’ clearly showed an attitude problem towards customers. The carvery counter was messy and in need of a tidy. On a positive note our waitress Emily was excellent in her manner and delivery of service. Well done Emily!

Went here for the unlimited breakfast. The servers behind the bar was polite and explained how everything worked. The breakfast items were tasty apart from the bacon which was very dry. Also, only fried eggs available which was a shame as I’m not a fan so didn’t have any eggs with my breakfast. Staff were clearing the tables but I felt they were a bit slow on this front and should of been clearing them a bit quicker, as well as the food area as there were a few stray beans and slices of toast strewn about. Would come again but please have another option for the eggs.

A very disappointing experience. It was a busy time but the beef and lamb on the carvery were inedible. Luke warm vegetables and rock hard roast potatoes. Utterly horrible. The staff on the carvery station looked exhausted. Sloppy food everywhere. Absolute disgrace. I asked our server to replace the meat, which she kindly did, but the replacement was just as bad. I could have made a pair of shoes from that offering of meat. The staff work so hard and are very polite but the food is sub standard. Another suggestion would be an area to dine in a quiet space. The restaurant is large. Maybe set aside an area for adults only. I know families love a Toby Carvery, but not everyone wants to sit next to screaming babies and toddlers.

What can I say I will never eat here again . Let’s start with the food !! In line waiting for meats and a lady in front of us picked up her meat of her plate and chucked it back at the Guy, serving saying it was dry. He then went to give me that meat she had her fingers on No !!!!! Food really horrible potatoes,so hard you couldn’t eat . the Yorkshire pudding dripping in so much grease. And all cold . Puddings nice and the lady served us was lovely and very professional . Toilets As I was going to the toilets the manager was roddig a blocked toilet . Told me to use the toilets the others side !!! As she was rodding all the faces was floating in the adjoining toilets, meaning anybody using said toilet would got splashback from her !!! All toilets coved in faeces and not cleaned up !!! This is disgusting and health and safety issue !!!! You close down your toilets and complete the job with out customers being put at risk of contamination!!!! Save your money don’t eat here !

Had a great meal with a fresh selection of veg, parsnips, carrots, peas, cabbage, cauliflower. My son loved the giant Yorkshire pudding and sausages.
