Indian restaurant in small village near junction 10 motorway. Excellent food to suit all tastes. Generous portion main meals rice portion is good for one person. Friendly attentive staff. Very reasonably priced. Will be returning often. Car park opposite but think you have to pay not sure. Check with restaurant.

It's a lovely old building and a great spot for a pint. I had the fish and chips and I wasn't amazed. For just over £16, the portion was very good, but the fish was bland. The chips were obviously frozen and not any better than you would make at home. The salad that came with the meal was pretty decent though and nice that it was included. My companion had the sausages and mash and enjoyed it so this is not a spot to avoid but I wouldn't have the fish again.

Attended to celebrate a fronds 60th as a group of 7. From start to finish the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Initially we were disappointed as the front of house said we couldn’t take the birthday cake in unless we had signed a disclaimer but once we were seated in the restaurant one of the senior staff (didn’t get his name but I think he was Greek) stepped in to look after us. He offered to refrigerate and open the champagne we had bought with us as a gift and then reserved us a lovely space in the lounge to enjoy the cake and coffee after the meal. The environment is beautiful and the food was incredible and reasonable priced for the quality. Thank you for making the evening so special :)

Lovely pub, great food, great prices, great staff. Came for a meal mid-week and was impressed so returned on a Sunday for roast without a booking and was seated immediately. The roast was perfect and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend and will be returning in future!

This is a fantastic restaurant. The food and service are impeccable. The kitchen surely has some creative hands. I think it should be advertised more., so that it attracts outsiders, other than the hotel residents. The view from the dining room is wonderful. I would say that the place does need some re decoration, while maintaining the period decor of the manor itself.

New landlord and landlady doing a great job. Really lovely people. I do prefer real ale but the beers they have on are very good.

Well what can I say. This pub excelled itself.. The first thing that caught my attention was the décor. The silver grey duct tape used to patch over seats shimmer beautifully as the sunlight caught it. Some of the duct tape was rolling at the edges giving the tape a charming two tone effect. Who ever put this together has clearly been following Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, in fact I wasnt sure if he might just pop out. If the dizziness of this treat wasn't enough, the food was on a similar imaginative and creative par. The bacon in the burger was bordering on cremated as was the bacon used in my hunters chicken. The burger was drier than the Sahara desert and my chicken somewhat resembled road kill. The 'chef' was clearly heavily competing with Gordon Ramsey.

I had to write this review to express my total gratitude for the generosity, warmth and hard work of Emily and all the team at the Fir Tree Inn, for donating and preparing an absolutely amazing meal for 20-+ guests at at Woburn Sands Winter Night Shelter for our local homeless community. The Fir Tree is a valued and vibrant part of our community and I approached Emily to ask if The Fir Tree could help us out. knowing that they would already be busy. They were busy, but nevertheless Emily agreed immediately and enthusiastically, but couldn't chat about it much though as she had totally lost her voice. Despite lack of voice and busy trade, Emily took the time to get a team member to call me the very next day! Everything was arranged smoothly and immediately and all the team were really supportive and pleased to be involved. When we went to collect the food, we were overwhelmed by the super friendly reception, and the quality, quantity, presentation and variety of food that had been made. The chefs had made us Thai Green Chicken Curry, Thai Green Veg Curry, mountains of fluffy fragrant rice with loads of Prawn Crackers and a whole range of puddings. Everything was piping hoy, delicious, healthy and satisfying. There was enough for everyone to have seconds- and everyone did eagerly (they had to have a break before even thinking about pudding but really enjoyed it later). Cant thank the Fir Tree enough for everything they have done. A really generous. community minded team.
