Went on Christmas eve. We have been before and has been perfect every time. Our friends had not and were really impressed by the whole ambience and atmosphere staff very friendly with smiles on their faces I'm wondering if they open Christmas days as I think I'd enjoy NOT cooking for a change. Four of us came for a meal on Dec 22nd and we couldn’t have been happier. The food was absolutely delicious. Fabulous menu with such a wide choice.our only regret is that we hadn’t tried you earlier. Still, we will be back. It was an absolute treat!

Went for dinner on the last Friday of the month which includes a DJ so we could have a dance. The food was excellent as was the service and staff. The only downside is the fact that there were not many people there so the atmosphere could have been better. Its a shame because they deserve better.

5 star experience! The Team here provided A1 Customer Service… Aryan, Jafar, Raju & Ali - took great care of us. The food was excellent, quickly served with care and they even provided food for us to takeaway on the house! Brilliant food at good prices and refreshingly accommodating staff! Our first visit to Spice 1875. Car parking is sparce and you have to find parking on the street. Very welcoming staff when you walk in. Our friends had opted to sit in the back room which lacked atmosphere but we could talk comfortably. Plenty of choice in the menu, in fact too much! All came out very hot. We chose two platters for starters, veggie and bbq. Slightly disappointed with the bbq one, not enough meat but too many peppers. The main courses were large, we could have done with just two instead of four!! Would we visit again .... maybe. Not because of the venue but because we are not huge fans of Indian food.

Been here a lot now and it always delivers amazing flavoured curries, as someone who loves curry it’s definitely one of the best curry houses in the local area. Must try

Would not recommend to anyone. Food is bland is taste and chicken taste cheap and over cooked. Awful

Pleasantly surprised. We were passing through the area and spotted this place. The service is impeccable and to a higher standard than most restaurants. We were made to feel very welcome. The portions are good sized and the prices lower than we are used to in London. Highly recommended.

Currently one of the best Asian restaurants in Bedfordshire, I cannot recommend highly enough, will definitely be returning.

As soon as we walked in we were impressed by the warm and friendly greeting. This restaurant is spacious, well decorated and has a nice vibe. The food is delicious and my wife and I agreed that this is the best Indian food we have had in years. I would recommend the Chilli Masala for main as it has a great combination of spices and flavours. In summary - Delicious food, great service and this will now be our go to place for Indian food.

Food was alright, but nothing special. Salad a bit limp. Quality and quantity of meat was good, but dishes just a bit bland. Bit of confusion between waiters as what was on the menu and what was served. Has an eclectic mix of ornaments and decor. Still thinks it's a pub?

Our second visit to Spice 1875... did not disappoint! Food is SUPERB!... not your average run of the mill curry... but aromatic and spiced to perfection and the service and ambiance is just spot on! We had heard lots of positive reviews about this place and so went for a Thursday dinner. The place has been done up very well and is very spacious. First impressions were good. The service was good and the staff were nice. Those are the only positives about the place. We tried to order beer and were told there was only one type of beer available. The menu has some really weird sounding names. The starters were not good - the Varnasi tandoor platter was tasteless and not properly cooked. The mains were awful - tasteless and flavourless. We will not be going back to this place again.

Nice friendly environment, always delicious food from a wide ranging and interesting menu compared to your typical Indian restaurant. Lots of great specialties like the Black Mamba curry, Chilli Beef fry, Chicken Tikka 3 ways, and the excellent Okra fries. Good selection of beer and wine, and friendly staff.

Such accommodating staff, tonight we had a fabulous meal where the vegetables outshone the chicken. The chef was happy to adjust the dishes for my father who is a diabetic and myself who can’t tolerate a lot of fat. I would recommend a visit.

We turned up at Frog and Rhubarb and then realised it is now an Indian Restaurant known as Spice 1875 in Slip End. The decor was very bright and airy with tables placed so as to create space and tropical fish were displayed on the wide-screen TV offering lovely calm ambience. It was a wonderful surprise, the staff were most welcoming indeed and found us a table. One review of the menu it had a full array of authentic Indian dishes from different regions of India. Our food when it arrived was piping hot and very well presented. Our waiter Akitur was polite and very attentive to all our needs. This was our first to Spice 1875 and definitely won't be our last, I would strongly recommend this Indian Restaurant.

Hell yes. Food is delicious and prepared with love, menu is varied but not overly ambitious, waiters are friendly and happy to accommodate, great pub/Indian restaurant fusion atmosphere, portions are generous and prices are great. Service timed to perfection too. Well worth a go.
