The White Hart in Central Bedfordshire

Took over an hour for food to arrive for 2 people, lukewarm food, dirty salad bar and dirty floors. We had previously visited a month earlier and had same experience but hoped it was a one off, however after giving it another go I woukd say we won't return and wouldn't advise anyone wait this long for food for only 2 people. We should have left after 30 minutes

Amazing, new menu very nice thank you. Sausage medley hits the spot. My partner and sister had the beef rib up which was excellent value for money

The Fine food was prepared by E & D in the kitchen and it absolutely 💯 % spot on. Service was excellent and the staff in general are always very friendly and obliging. Well done to you all 👏👏👏

Cold baked beans cold chips corn on the cob, NOW out of a packet, Sorry why bother coming out to eat we give up what else is there to say used to be lovley

I would thoroughly recommend the White Hart at Hockcliffe.I was able to book by telephone. All the staff from the telephone booking to those on the day were welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. All the food was tasty and well presented. This is our second time and will definitely come again.

Evening with 8 friends. Very polite, attentive and patient staff member called Matt looked after us. Nothing was too much trouble. Salad bar well stocked for that time of the late evening. Kate was also very good. Great service on one of the hottest evenings of the year! Thank you to the kitchen staff as well as we never see them!

I went to the White Hart Harvester with a friend who is unable to comment online as he doesn't have the Internet ability. We were both impressed with the kind and courteous staff. Nothing was too much. My friend Ken has dementia but is very able. The food was served very well and quickly 😋

2nd time i’ve visited this place, i have to say it’s bloody awful. slow service, few bits empty on salad bar. chicken cool and very very dry. sorry won’t ever be visiting a HARVESTER again.

I came in tonight and was served by the young lady at the bar Madelyn who was very polite and efficient. Then I ordered some food it was excellent, asked who cooked it and they said it was a young lady named Ellie, she did an amazing job food was top quality. Will definitely come back for some food and highly recommend !!!

Although the menus are the same the Harvester experience is variable. From the moment we walked in to The White Hart it was obvious it was going to be excellent . The service from beginning to end was attentive and friendly. The restaurant was bright, the tables clean, it was well organised and the staff well trained. The food was great and the salad cart as good as ever. An absolute credit to the management. If you like Harvester this has to be as good as it gets.

The service was excellent with prompt and friendly service from Sandra and our order for food was delivered in good time. The food was excellent good value for money served in salubrious surroundings - We look forward to our next visit. Dennis & Eileen Hylton

Came for breakfast, I have to say the food was very nice. I ordered a classic breakfast with fried eggs, couldn’t fault it. Service was fantastic. Thank you to Louise!

We went to the White Hart for Mother's Day (10th March). The service was polite and attentive and the food was ok, apart from the sweetcorn being overcooked to the point of mushy, the children's rump steak was clearly an end of a steak, full of gritsle and very hard to eat. The ribs were good and the chicken was well cooked. Generally an ok meal but nothing to write home about. £82 for a 2 adult meals witth 1 pudding, 2 alcoholic drinks and 2 kids meals wih ice cream (no starters for any of us).

Our waitress lily was lovely and made sure we were all happy and accommodated all our needs. Such lovely staff. The food was also super yummy !!!

Excellent service throughout. Lovely warm welcome. Nothing too much trouble for the friendly , smiley staff. The food was delicious and very good value. Topped off by the staff bringing in the cake , singing happy birthday, which were then able to cut up and eat as our dessert. Great atmosphere in the restaurant . The food here used to be fine but recently the standard has slipped. The staff are friendly but the food leaves alot to be desired. Bread rolls cold and hard, salad bar looking tired, chips cold, mushroom overcooked, onion rings as hard as nails, chips lukewarm, steak over seasoned with pepper. Poor.

Evening dinner for a party of 11 people, restaurant very clean and tidy, salad bar well stocked, service was very good. Warm welcome on arrival, and front of house (Kirsty) very friendly and attentive.

Staying a mile down the road at Redwings Lodge (who have no bar or food provision on site) so decided to have a walk down to the White Hart for a beer & dinner. A 1 mile march down Watling Street made me realise what it might have been like as a Roman soldier back in the day (well almost apart from 70mph 🚗 🚗 🚗 💨 💨 😂) A warm and friendly welcome from Natalie and plenty of time allowed for a couple of drinks in the bar before sorting a table in the restaurant area. Triple combo was proper nice and all three pieces of chicken were fresh, moist and very tasty. Corn on the cob was perfectly done too and a nice addition to the plate. My waitress Lily (sorry if I didn’t spell your name correctly) was fab too. Very pleasant and attentive without overdoing it. Thank you Great meal & well priced. Will deffo visit again if I get back to this area. My only thing …… it’s not a complaint …..more a minor issue …..would be the fact that I was given an empty bowl where Lily said “here’s your salad bowl” but got no instruction as to where or how I could make use of it. Bearing in mind I’m a complete newb to this place. It wasn’t until 10 minutes later when I got up to go for a wee that I discovered there was a well stocked salad bar where you could knock yourself out as part of the deal 😂 The onion flakes & bacon bits could actually be made into a complete meal by themselves BTW 😂 amazing …. once I found them. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area and will definitely be back if I ever get around these parts again. Thank you!

Not sure why people rave about Harvester, we have been loads, but, never been overly impressed. Firstly the young lady who served us was lovely, she got my order wrong, but we all make mistakes. My correct order came back around 15 mins later, and maybe the kitchen staff had the hump, but I had a few lettice leaves with a few bits grated carrot in the flatbread, with a dollop of salsa, with just 3 pieces of buttermilk chicken chucked in . It was dry and inedible as a meal and I could only eat the chicken. Nothing at all like the description. Manager was ok, when I complained and said I would not be paying, and gave us a free dessert, but our family dinner was not a grea experience. One meal was battered Halloumi and it looked liked there was 4 pieces of battered Fish picked high on her plate .. so much batter and one of the pieces had no halloumi only batter at all. Restaurant is v noisy, which is pretty awful when you have your Dad with you, who is quite deaf, but this can't he helped. We won't be returning😒

We were served by Greg today. He was very friendly and efficient on a busy evening. Nothing was too much trouble to ask for, and kindly boxed up our leftovers and a brownie for my son who was too full for dessert! Super helpful nice chap! As usual at the White Hart food was tasty and filling and a lovely family atmosphere.

We was served by Nikki and she was so welcoming and accommodating. Everything we needed she tended to with no issue. She is also very polite. Food was amazing, as always, and service was everything we needed and more. Thank you so much. To the whole team.

We were served by 2 lady’s. Both were super polite and friendly. Nikki served us part way through and checked everything was okay throughout. It was clean, quick and an overall excellent experience.

This is an excellent place to eat. We had a really nice meal. Would recommend the half rotisserie chicken meal and the rack of ribs both served with chips and corn on the cob. Help yourself salad bar and bread rolls was great and fully stocked. We also had a dessert that was great.Also would recommend refill drinks on fizzy drinks. On leaving we was full to the brim and couldn't eat another thing.

We received a warm welcome. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the service was exceptional.Just a small observation and word of advice: It would be a good idea to ensure ALL the salad trays are removed before spraying cleaning fluid and not just one half at a time to stop any contamination taking place.

Visited Harvester with some friends for brunch We we're greeted and shown to our table Waitress was friendly and knew we were waiting for other friends to join. Food come out hot, I had the pancakes which were great We look forward to coming again

The restaurant looked good and staff very friendly but a lot of what we chose was not available and when we ordered they came back to say the rotisserie chicken not available Ben though when we ordered was told it as! We were offered chicken breast but this was not what we wanted!!!!! I then ordered steak medium rare which came back medium to well done and tough!!! On top of that there was a terrible smell where we sat and when we mentioned it were told it had been since the refurbishment and they were thinking of closing that area!!! It smelt like the sewers!!! My friend who came with us had eaten there the day before and said the ladies toilets were blocked then!!!! This is not acceptable for a restaurant and wonder if the local environmental health need to be advised and checking on this?? The company who did the refurbishment should be called in to sort this as a matter of urgency!!!

The beginning of January is always a busy time for my family. My twin boys had their 10th birthdays but they were born on different days and they celebrate separately. We had a long weekend trip to Center Parcs booked on 7th January but decided to go out for a meal after school on 6th January to kick off celebrations and the choice of restaurant was left up to birthday boy number 1. He loves the Harvester, our local one being round the corner from us in our hometown; however, it was closed due to staff shortages so we booked the Harvester, White Hart Leighton Buzzard, as it was our next nearest. There were 8 people in our party in total and none of us had never been to this venue before but I’m so glad we chose to come here because the service was outstanding! Sarah was our main server and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was attentive and went above and beyond for us ensuring that my 3 children were happy and that we were all taken care of. The rest of the staff we came into contact with during our visit were all friendly and provided excellent service. The food was great and what we would expect from a Harvester and my children all enjoyed the salad bar. We took a birthday cake to the venue and Sarah and the team very kindly put the candles on the cake and brought it out to us singing “Happy Birthday” to my boy, he was chuffed! They then provided us with a cake knife so we could cut the cake. I would highly recommend this Harvester. 10/10, we will definitely be back!

First time visited since the recent refit Seated quickly and drinks order taken not rushed COVID precautions in place and unlimited salad bar not help yourself but served for u Food was great and hot and nothing was too much trouble with changes to menu and ordering extras for our Grandaughter Would recommend the belly pork ribs chicken Dessert we wanted to take and was excellent packed by our server What made this evening was the great service from our server Sandra nothing was too much trouble and she was very attentive making sure we were having a pleasant visit she went above and beyond Will return thank you Sandra for your Great Service

I “had “to put one star but it didn’t deserve that! Went there for a family lunch yesterday. We ordered 3 cokes through the waitress and they were awful so sent them back. Then for lunch we ordered our mains. My daughters chicken burger was literally raw! She bit into this and had to spit it out as it was not cooked!! My salmon looked like it had been kicked around the kitchen with stale rice. My husbands ribs and pork belly were “warmed” up in the microwave and were like rubber. We sent my daughters burger back and had to re-order another southern fried burger which was awful. No money off or a free pudding. Completely ruined our visit and would never eat here again. The salad bar was nice but the bread rolls were very stale and seemed like they had been there from the day before. Wouldn’t recommend!

Was in for dinner with the family a couple of weeks ago and even with how busy it was, everything was still up to the usual, great standard. We were served by Beth and she was particularly patient with my grandparents who needed to be led through the menu choices and wine list with assistance.

We visited on a Sunday afternoon and, although the restaurant was clearly busy, the staff were still very attentive and looked after us brilliantly. We had a delicious meal & will definitely be back as we were too full for dessert and there are a few we'd like to try!

Visited the White Hart with my family this evening. There was a slight issue with my meal but this was dealt with very quickly and professionally by the very welcoming staff. I would definitely return and can highly recommend it to anyone looking for good value and pleasant, polite staff.

Me and my friends came out for dinner on Saturday, we where very happy with the quality of food and the amount of choice for vegetarians. We where told that the ice cream machine wasn’t working unfortunately however we had such a enjoyable experience and our waitress (Sandra) was so helpful she was able to find all of us an alternative that didn’t disappoint too. We would definitely be back for more desert. Sandra was such an attentive, lovely waitress and couldn’t do enough for us, which made me and my friends evening all the more enjoyable. She’s a credit to your restaurant.

We have always visited the Harvester, and meals have been nice (a few not so great) however, we recently visited and could not fault the service or the food. This was our first visit since the refurbishment. The waitress (Nikki) could not have made our visit any more comfortable, especially as we had our 3year old. She was very kind and friendly- a huge thank you to her. The food was amazing, the salad bar is always a hit but the mains were delicious. The portion sizes were very generous (we definitely had eyes bigger than our bellies). Our daughters meal was fantastic value and, to top it off, Nikki was kind enough to provide us with boxes to take what we couldn’t eat home. We will definitely be returning and have already recommended it to friends and family.

Great place, basic food menus but always cooked to perfection . Salad always fresh and enjoyable. Mains are filling . Staff are lovely especially Nikki who looked after us and my elderly mother in law who was now wheelchair bound... Access is easy and plenty of space, nothing was too much trouble... we will return

This is a standard Harvester styled restaurant, so it can be noisy with children as it is a family styled restaurant.The service was good, the food all arrived promptly, nicely presented and hot.The salad bar is a little different now, as you have to wait to be served (Covid effect, I guess). So, this can be a long wait if the restaurant is busy, portion size and bread is controlled.No real ales on tap, only bottled ales and they had run out of one of the rose wines on this occasion.

Today I drove all the way to the harvester to sit down order a round of drinks to only be told as I’m ordering they did not have majority of the food or a sauce for any sort of steak.In addition to this there was 5 items on the kids menus which was absolutely shocking as the food that was on the menu for the kids we could have got in McDonald’s. (Off apart from the 4oz steak that half the kids would not even eat) The prices of the food menus was absolutely shocking. Nor Me or my family will be returning here as it was a dreadful experience.

Stopped in for Lunch on the way back to London and glad we did! First ever visit to a Harvester and exceeded all expectations. Went for the Lunch Menu and a vast choice in all areas, lovely and friendly service from Nicki at the table and all the staff at the Seating area and salad bar. Would thoroughly recommend and will be back when we are next in the area

My wife and I enjoyed two evening meals recent on a Friday and Saturday night whilst visiting family in Dunstable. We were staying in Aspley Guise and wanted to find somewhere to eat on our way back from visit family in Dunstable. We came across the White Hart at the traffic lights in Hockliffe and decided to see if we could get a table between 8.00pm and 8.30pm. We were lucky to get a table on the Friday night and were looked after by the lovelly Nikki who made us so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We ordered the dirty burger and the sirloin steak with breaded mushrooms for starters which were all delicious and plentiful. We returned on the Saturday night and had cod and chips with mushy peas and scampi, chips and garden peas and were not disappointed with both of those mains as well. All in all a very enjoyable experience and would have no hesitation in visiting again when next in the area.

Absolutely first class, both service and food! We were celebrating a 60th wedding anniversary and we couldn’t of asked for more. Sandra our server was AMAZING, so friendly and efficient. Also, the management team were buzzing around helping all the time…. Such a lovely atmosphere. Lovely refurb too, will definitely be back soon.

First time we have been here in years and a really pleasant experience! Nikki our server was lovely, so helpful & friendly and always on the go, perfect service. Steak was well cooked and the burgers were massive! Loads of chips too. The dirty burger combo and chicken combos were definitely a gut buster. Will return soon.

The newly refurbished Hockliffe restaurant is so much better than before. It is a total transformation. So inside the whole decoration is now much more welcoming and comfortable.Our visit was a Friday evening and we had booked in advance. We got seated straight away, our drinks and food orders were taken in good time and it was served in good time. The food quality was still a good standard too which was nice and enjoyable.Sandra was friendly and welcoming as always.The restaurant refurbishment really improves the dining experience now.

Booked a table for 10 for a family birthday for Sunday 10th October for 14.30pm. When my son arrived he was told no booking had been made even though i visited the restraunt and booked in person the previous Wednesday, not even offered a drink as an apology or a discount if we booked again, just staff error sorry. they have spent a fortune doing this place up perhaps should have saved some for staff training.

Decided to try Click & Collect as wanted to eat, but not cook, in comfort of own home. Got on the app & ordered to pick up in 30 mins. Walked in & the food was ready & waiting for us, with Sandra going above & beyond, in her usual way, with sorting us out with the salad bar choices & rolls etc. Once home we realised how carefully it had all been packed & all the relevant sauces were included. Well done Harvester Team, we will be back!

Absolutely superb service, Sandra to be specific, she was outstanding all night ensuring we never had empty glasses, and also very polite. The food was decently portioned and was very tasty, overall walked away very satisfied with this outing.

First time out since lockdown, brilliant system and felt really comfortable. Our waitress Louise was brilliant as were all the staff. Food was well presented, good portions and hot.

Having booked a table for my sons birthday the whole family was looking forward to a night out. It started well the waitress was extremely helpful and the service quick so quick in fact that we had only just started eating the salad when the mains arrived I appreciate the way things are it’s probably not good to sit too long in a restaurant. My wife ordered the kebab with prawns as well two children’s meals and a double burger children happy with there food mine also but my wife having saved the prawns till last found they were raw. Having explained this to the waitress she offered to change them but having not seen sushi on the menu she was reluctant to have more as once was enough. At the end of the meal the Bill came and a total of four pounds deducted for the raw prawns not that great considering the health risks that come with eating raw shellfish. Looking for a good sushi restaurant try here otherwise don’t bother.

We had a lovely meal, which was made even better by brilliant service from a waitress called Amber. All staff appear to be doing their very best in this difficult time- all wearing face coverings and maintaining social distancing. Keep up the good work :)

Take the Harvester you know and add helpful support for the Covid 19 issues. One way systems. Plenty of hand sanitisation. Someone to help with salad bar and unlimited drinks. But same great menu. We chose from the evening menu 3 courses. Although I chose starter n main and wife main and desert. This way we could enjoy sharing.We've been going to the White Hart Harvester for nearly 10 years. Sandra our waitress was attentive and not in our face all the time. She adds value to this restaurant and we love having her serve us.Felt safe and secure in this difficult time. Would 100% recommend Harvesters.
