We visited twice once for a drink then went back for breakfast the next day. Staff were absolutely lovely, such a peaceful garden full of flowers and birds. Just a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the seafront. Plenty of water bowls for our puppy and also a doggie menu including 2 sausages and gravy for £3.50.

brought my Aunt here for Sunday lunch - we both had the carvery. There were 5 different meats on offer: lamb/beef/turkey/pork and gammon - all looked delicious, and we were given plenty of it. The variety of veg was amazing, and the roast potatoes were to die for! Our drinks waiter Roman was friendly and attentive, without being annoying, and Jane the Chef was also very friendly and helpful. A very pleasant experience that will be repeated.

The service was poor. The tables were not set. Then the food came 2 beef roast, 1 lamb roast and 1 fish and chips. The roasts were over cooked and looked like they had been cooked the previous day. The fish and batter were undercooked. The batter was pale almost white. We got £15 reduction on the lamb but did not cause a fuss as we were entertaining. It was all really inedible.

Popped in after a lovely day out at the coast to finish off the day with a pint of Guinness on our journey home. Felt so incredibly unwelcome. No eye contact given by older male staff member at the bar who muttered ‘we only do it in cans’ under his breath - wish we had walked out there and then. We did however, notice that obvious locals to the pub were greeted… not in a massively friendly way I might add - benefit of the doubt- maybe it’s their way or they were just having a bad day - whichever - we won’t return!

Lee and the team are always on hand to provide you with great service. The food is always delicious and you’re always made to feel welcome…even our dogs like visiting! Food/drink prices are reasonable, the themed nights are always fun and there’s a great community spirit about the pub. We love it there!

Was a bit worried having seen a few other reviews but it was unnecessary as we had an excellent Sunday Lunch . The staff were very helpful especially Amelia and Maureen, her first shift. All the others were equally good, badges would have helped to be able to mention them. Portion sizes were excellent in all 3 courses and the food was hot, when necessary. Prices are competitive and definitely worth it. Sorry forgot to do a tip, as took service off the bill to give cash and then I didn't realise no one had left anything... Will double up next time.
