My wife and I booked a meal in the restaurant last night . We had great service from friendly attentive staff. My wife chose Scampi and Chips . The portion was generous, served with chunky chips and crunchy but tender scampi . I had a sirloin steak again with lovely chunky chips and a really tasty perfectly cooked steak . We also shared a chocolate brownie with ice cream and cream which was delicious . The bill came to £49 which we thought was good value including a couple of drinks . The atmosphere was welcoming and we would definitely go again to try one their pizzas cooked in the wood fired oven !

I wanted to praise The Green Man. We've been going to the pub since we were children, over the past 50 years and although we do not live in Lt Braxted any longer we still go back; it never fails to deliver. The new owners are keeping the standard high! The liver & bacon was delicious, very tender & plentiful. The prawn & veg Thai stir-fry was amazing, really spicy but not overly so. Go to the Green Man, you will not be disappointed!

Lovely pub in the heart of bovingdon. A place where locals and visitors to the village are made to feel more than welcome for the landlady Tina. Iv been coming here for 8 months since I moved to the area and was instantly made to feel welcome. To summerise a lovely pub reasonably if not cheap drinks and a lovely landlady to boot

We had lunch here today. Sat outside under a shady canopy with a fab view of the lovely garden and river. The food was nice - recommend the mini puds - but the service was particularly friendly (despite the fact they were rushed off their feet) and made the whole experience very enjoyable. Special shout out for George, our patient server, who explained the menu, put up with our middle aged musings and slightly muddled ordering, with a smile!

Having visited the fur and feather a few times previously was very disappointed. The menu was extremely limited with next to no specials. The food served was extremely poor for the price. Salad had no dressing, calamari was greasy and not crispy . Husbands Gammon and chips was a large portion of underwhelming gammon and chips , flavourless and poorly presented. Would not visit again .

Nice place on the front over looking the sea. Lovely outside area, inside I thought was a bit 'hungry horse' or 'brewers fayre' compared to outside. Food was basic for what the location is. Can do so much better on that front. Staff were friendly, prices ok, location great...parking horrible...literally nowhere to park so get ready to walk to get there!

Normally it is really good, but the roast potato's were not quite cooked, and my daughter had lots of fat on her beef, so didn't eat much, the male server was annoying as soon as we had finnished eating he came to the table then again with Bill and we were still drinking and had refillable and felt we had to not fill up again and leave, this was for my daughters birthday and wasn't an enjoyable experience with his pushy behaviour, for almost £30 this is not acceptable, puts me of returning.

Very disappointing I had garlic chicken & chips. The chicken had seen better days and the chips too. I was also worried to see a young man wiping down the tables using the same cloth & no cleaner. Our table was sticky so not a good sign. We won't be going back.

Popped in for a drink £9.10 for a glass of wine. Had the same in Wetherspoons a few days ago for £2.45. Expected it to be more expensive but can’t see how they can justify that price

I met a business contact today for lunch. The menu is extensive with a wide range of beers available. My colleague had a burger, it was huge and it cooked to perfection. I had s as crayfish and avocado sandwich with salad, which was delicious. We both had a dessert. I had an apple crumble which was delicious. Lots of families there, lovely covered area at the back of the pub with a very friendly vibe. I would definitely revisit and Jo hesitation in recommending…

Thought we would have a treat today and go for breakfast…. Waited over 45 minutes for 2 breakfasts and one came with no egg's!??. I went up to the counter and was ignored, so I just interrupted their conversation and asked if all breakfasts come with eggs, one said no, one said yes! I told them what we were missing and I thought they would go and get some but nothing ! I couldn’t see the point in going back up as they had no interest in the customers. Even the ice coffees had just 3 large ice cubes, they were warm, worst Iv ever had. I certainly won’t be bothering again.

The place was devoid of customers the night we went, but it was only the second day of the new proprietors doing food. My husband’s burger was pleasant but my Lasagne was barely edible and certainly not recognisable as a lasagne! The so called mince resembled sloppy corned beef in texture and taste and the landlady said it was because they could only get steak mince so when it was boiled down in preparation for the lasagne it went very squashy as didn’t have much fat. BOILED mince in a Lasagne?!?! Since when did anyone BOIL mince to make a lasagne? I only use 5% or less fat mince for a lasagne and never have any trouble with taste or texture (but then I don’t boil it!). Maybe the chef needs to check out a few recipes on google, and find a new recipe, because his present one was only a recipe for disaster! Will we be returning? I think that’s a no.
