I visited on the 14th of November, i had a lovely experience and my server Daniel was more than accommodating. He went above and beyond to give us the best experience and made sucre we were looked after. He is truly a credit to Toby Carvery :)))))

Fantastic service from Zoe and the lady carving Liv, great food very tasty and plenty to go at, thank you Toby for a lovely meal when I’d had a very busy day.

Last minute reservation before we went on holiday. We had the wraps for the first and it was so nice. The meat wasn’t dry at all. The staff were also lovely and welcoming. Our waiter Daniel was lovely and happy. We forgot my daughter’s tablet and he chased us over the road to give it to us. We will return again. Thanks

My 2 friends and I go to Toby’s roughly once a month for a good old catch up we sit for about 2 hours chatting away and on our visit today we have to say it’s the nicest breakfast we have had there in a long time.. everything tasted delicious… the lady who knows us and always reserves our table as requested (can’t think of her name sorry) is always lovely… the place was lovely and clean… we look forward to our next visit thank you

Was told by head office that staff do have to tie their hair back. This doesn't happen in P'boro. The manager said his staff don't have to and as they couldn't meet my requirements they didn't want me to return. This was a restaurant I used frequently.

Normally it is really good, but the roast potato's were not quite cooked, and my daughter had lots of fat on her beef, so didn't eat much, the male server was annoying as soon as we had finnished eating he came to the table then again with Bill and we were still drinking and had refillable and felt we had to not fill up again and leave, this was for my daughters birthday and wasn't an enjoyable experience with his pushy behaviour, for almost £30 this is not acceptable, puts me of returning.

Pretty good breakfast! Eggs very nice, as were the sausages. I avoided the bacon as it looked a bit…. Nah. Scrambled or poached eggs would have been a bonus but overall pretty good and very good value!

Such a lovely Sunday carvery here, and to make it even better when we had finished Una ( the head chef ) came to have a chat and she was super friendly and made the experience 10x better!!

I'm not generally a fan of chain resturants, but we've just had a great-value roast dining. The whole team were friendly and helpful, while working very hard. The chef carved a good sized portion of turkey meat and there was a good selection of potatoes and veg (although most of the veg was stewed). Our plum/apple crumble pudding was huge, with crisp crumble, soft fruit and cold ice-cream. We had a voucher which made this a great value meal. Well done Toby, you've up'd your game and deserve a 5 star rating for food , service and value!

Fantastic food really enjoyable, the best we have ever eaten tonight. Jo and Fran was lovely while being friendly and professional. A great experience all round. Thank you also to the kitchen staff who take the time and care to get the good ready.

We had a breakfast at our local Toby carvery, we were served by Mario, he was brilliant, his name badge should definitely be super Mario 😂😂

Went in with my husband and asked if they had any tables left .lovely young lady got us a table and we hadn’t been in ages very clean and they tidy.Lady serving the meat was very polite and friendly her name was una and also Daniel was very cheerful and took our money at the end .There was an young lady who took our order also very friendly and polite.couldn’t fault the staff and the food was good to .All in all had a nice meal and will return soon thank you

Great service and food. Staff were incredible especially Dru who had a beaming smile on her face from the moment she welcomed us to the moment we left. Atmosphere was great, it’s good to see a place extremely busy but still very well run and we definitely felt very looked after. Highly recommend especially if you’re looking for a delicious carvery!

Came in for a quick lunch. Food was superb, best Toby carvery we've visited. Shoutout to the tall chef who went above and beyond to get us some sweetcorn to top the meal off. All the staff were lovely, especially salad, carver had great banter too. Will definitely be back!

Stopped here on our way from Stansted Airport back north. Kids ate for £1 as it was Easter holidays. Staff were friendly and the lad carving the meat was excellent- service with a smile!

5 star The place has had a refurb and much cleaner and brighter. The staff were so friendly- special mention to Una who took the time to come out from behind the servery to make sure we had enjoyed our lunch. Nice touch! Will definitely return.

We have been to many Toby locations, and this is the best one by far. Just had breakfast, and the food was amazing. Coffee was better than Costa. Your staff are friendly and smiling. Great food and great service.

You get what you pay for here.. I think it's a tasty roast at a decent price. Not fine dining by any means and they could do with a bit of a clean up as it feels a little grubby. I do enjoy the food though

this was a lovely meawent on tuesday 12 march for 2 carvery meals for £6 each with the app the waitress was great and fetched us 2 glasses of water the carvery waslovely meat good and enough veg good roasties brilliant really enjoyed our dinners a bargain for £12 for 2

Had a great experience late Wednesday evening at TOBY , Daniel made us feel very welcomed even though they were soon closing , they prepared some extra vegetarian options for us . Friendly service overall wonderful experience . Definitely would be back

As shareholders we use Toby regularly and generally have no issues. This time round we were shown to the smallest table in the middle of the room. We ordered our drinks and visited the bathroom. Our drinks arrived. We ordered "J2O in a pint glass topped up with lemonade". These arrived in the standard J2O glass, c. 350ml glass, they tasted quite weak and well diluted. We felt like it was one bottle split between the two glasses with loads of lemonade. We told the waitress that the drinks were wrong, she took them away but then returned stating that she had been told it was a pint glass. LOL. Then to the carvery, the chef was well tight on the meat and then we found there was no 'mac n cheese '. So according to the chef if you visit during the week you CANNOT have 'mac n cheese'. Then all of a sudden chef said "I've put some in the oven, come back in 20 minutes". Well thanks but in 20 minutes we'll be finished! So all finished. The drinks charge was £8.40 for two small drinks - so - No tip. Except to Annie. Learn the size of your glasses. She tried to prove the J2O glass was a pint by pouring water from the pint into J2O and then considered that as there was water left in the the pint glass the J2O was bigger than a pint!! Please be careful - Next time you may be prosecuted by weights and measures! Oh yes, no apologies, no discount, just poor. By the way, the food in general was fine.

Usual very busy and so noisy. Not been since refurb looks nice. Meat very sparce veg very over cooked. Didn't look appealing. Left most of it. Server good. Won't hurry back. Over priced and gone too.

Thank you so much to Gary who went above and beyond and absolutely saved my life! We stopped for a lovely roast dinner on our way home from the airport, I then proceeded to leave my handbag with passports and everything inside at my table. I called the restaurant at 8am the next morning in such a panic, left my details and Gary called me straight back to let me know said bag was found to put my mind to rest. I really can’t thank him enough, all the staff were so lovely. Thank you so much, we will come again soon 👏

My family friend and I went as it was my daughter’s birthday and she loves the food there as do we all. One friend is disabled. When my disabled friend and I went up to the carvery. The lovely chef dishing out the meat was wonderful she helped my friend back to our table with her plateful and gave her a pot of gravy. The meat and veg were delicious and I told her do. The waitress who served us with drinks was very sweet and she brought us plates and cutlery afterwards as we had taken a birthday cake.

Hasn’t been to this Toby for years. Didn’t fancy doing a roast and washing up, let’s go to Toby, surely they are pros at it. Meat choice good. Lamb is fatty but I feel that they don’t see a really fatty bit and leave it aside, you are literally given whatever comes off. Beef the same. Turkey and gammon more lean. Roast potatoes ok. Cabbage and carrots ok. Cauliflower cheese absolutely tragic! Overcooked- almost must in a tasteless watery sauce. Gravy was tasteless. Only outstanding thing was the Yorkie. Glass of wine extortionate! Asked for their cheapest one at £6 a glass. Not available so had I ❤️ Shiraz £8 a glass! You can buy a bottle of this for £5.50. All in all £65 for 3 including one wine one beer and a J20 (£3.75) not good. Should have cooked my own. Poor. Waiter Mario friendly and professional but proper conveyor belt there. Will not return.

We love a good Toby Carvery. This one was no exception with great tasting meat and vegetables. Choice was a little more limited than some restaurants but this was offset with the wonderful customer service we received from our young waitress Zoe.

Lovely staff. The roast meats are tender and tasty. The vegetables again ( visit monthly) are barely warm. Pot of tea Luke warm, man on next table sent his cold coffee back. Good value but please turn the hot plate temperature up to keep vegetables...

Can’t fault the service at all, all staff (especially Amirr) were friendly, understanding and patient with myself and my friends. There was a slight misunderstanding with our table booking at the start which wasn’t ideal, but it wasn’t made a hassle and was easily rectified Thank you!

First time back since 2020 and was great to see this place goes from strength to strength. extremely well organised and covid friendly, while still able to ensure our visit felt extremely normal.

I’m a regular here every Saturday and managers and staff are always polite and work hard to please. Well I sat behind guest who put one star review (previous review) he should be ashamed of his comments. Moaning to the manager about his sausages being to brown lol. He was extremely rude to the manager after he politely said”we cook them all the same way”The guest then continued to mumble away after being told £4.89 for all you can eat breakfast is great value. My partner and I were shocked! If you want Lincolnshire sausages cooked to your choice go to a hotel or restaurant and pay there prices!!! And know the laws regarding the wearing of a mask. People like him make me sick! Stay at home they have a tough enough time as it is!!! Rant over

Popped in for a quick dinner.Found restaurant clean and tidy and applying Covid-19 rules of engagement.Was greeted by Francesca who booked us in helped us through the formalities of Covid @ Toby sat us down and took our order all in short time and with polite efficiency. Once we’d joined the one way system to gain access to the Carney we were not disappointed by the spread of 3 roasts and a multitude of beautifully cooked vegetables, both root and green. The portions were generous. Danga was there to help ensure all went to plan and finished the plates off with sauces and gravy, finally delivering our roast dinners to the table.The service was attentive but not overbearing ensuring our meal was meeting expectations and our drinks were topped up as required.The price of this service was an excellent value for money dining experience.Many thanks to Francesca and Danga for looking after the pair of us.We will be back.

Although we had to wait for our table before we could get seated. when we came in today for our lunch. and waited for our food for a little longer than we liked we were left with full tums. Whilst it wasn't the best start to a family meal. Your waitress need to know what a great job they are doing in these wired times! Different way of serving up the carvery roast dinner now it is table service. Still covid safe. We love coming here

Meal was average, felt uncomfortable queuing for food. Staff not using any form of face protection, including staff serving food onto plates, they were also handling cutlery in bulk with bare hands. Not able to move around restaurant without passing close to other diners.

Your staff are an absolute credit to you, everything is ran perfectly organised. The food was hot and beautiful tarting. My only gripe was I always eat too much and make myself feel poorly afterwards 🤣🤣

I’ve been here a few times now with family. A nice roast, friendly staff and good value for money. Also returning post lockdown, the restaurant take the public health procedures seriously with tables well spaced for social distancing and good ventilation of restaurant, so you can be reassured that they make customer safety the top priority.

I visited twice in August, the first visit was disorganised, with staff struggling to cope with newly introduced procedures. And it was so very very hot inside, it did not appear to have aircon turned on.My second visit today, this time staff were very organised and everything was great. For both visits the Carvery meals were as always great, well presented and great value.I will continue to choose this Toby restaurant for my Carvery meals.

An absolutely amazing roast dinner yet again. My wife and I and our baby had a great feed last week. The staff are super helpful and friendly and the food has improved so much in the last year or so. I still think the roasties could do with par boiling but everything else was amazing. We will be back soon

Well what a difference our visit to Toby was tonight. Very friendly and helpful hostess showing us to our table. Glad to see they kept to social distances guidelines. Jo was very understanding and helpful with my special needs children. She put us in the great hands of a waiter called Amir who was top class. Then when time came for us to get our food the young man behind the service station was really Kind and friendly. Food was good service was good staff were fantastic, will definitely be going back when they on again. I strongly advise that management get more staff and service like this on weekend mornings too, as a team like this make all the difference in a family of 4 wanting to come back.

Really good value for a midweek meal during this pandemic period especially with the eat out to help out deal. The restaurant was hectic and busy but the food on offer was wholesome and tasty! We intend to return again and have no hesitation in recommending this establishment.

From walking into the restaurant Sunday afternoon we was made to feel very welcome. The waitress was very helpful and attentive and the food was of very good quality. There was measures in place for covid 19 of which we felt they seemed to be implemented very well. All in all very good visit, we will be returning soon.

As a family of four, we have been loyal customers of this restaurant for a good number of years now, and every fortnight or so we come here for our dinner. There are three reasons for this:(1) Always freshly cooked meals.(2) Friendly and efficient staff.(3) Easy parking, and a nice and practical dining environment.

My girlfriend and I popped in for some lunch on a Saturday, we’ve been before so knew what to expect; food is tasty and friendly service, with safety taken into consideration to make us feel at ease during this period.

We have just returned from our first visit since re-opening. We had a really positive experience and felt very safe. We were greeted at the door where our booking was confirmed. We were then shown to the hand sanitiser. After being seated we were talked through the new way of doing things. Foot markings lead the way to the carvery where the chef calls you forward. After plating the meat, he loads your plate up with vegetables according to your instructions and in generous portions.The cutlery and condiments are brought fresh to your table and the waitress tops up refillable drinks for you.The lovely waitress maintained a safe distance and was professional and attentive throughout. Tables are cleaned when vacated and exit is through a door to the car park.As ever, the food was delicious and the staff are to be congratulated on their responses to their new way of working and for ensuring safety all round.

At arrival we were greeted with our waiter ‘Super’ Mario, he sat us down explained the process due to lockdown. We got our meals fantastic quality! While eating our meal Mario checked in on us refilling our drinks and his banta was fantastic! The guy deserves a pay rise or something! The deserts were also fantastic! Thank you for such a good experience will definitely be returning!

Upon my arrival at the Carvery, it started as a positive experience as my two sisters and I were shown the sanitising station, which speaks volumes about the clear emphasis and safeguarding of the customers. After we were seated we were served by Jamie and her general demeanour towards us as a group was FANTASTIC!!! She was very enthusiastic and catered to our every need. However, my reason for my 3 star review is due to the clear poor organisation and distribution of the workload between the waitresses and the managers. It seemed as though the manager would not leave deck/food area along with the chief who may I add we round very rude and abrupt. From my perspective the poor waitresses seemed to always rushing around to be attentive to every customer as best as they could, which seemed very unfair on them as the floor manager should take a commanding role and not just leave all the work to be shared between two poor waitresses, which we felt was unfair and lazy. Unfortunately we weren’t able to catch the other waitresses name(she was short and wore her hair up), however we would like to add that she was, just like Jamie, very attentive to any request we had.

Our waitress was Cherokee, who was very polite, warming and most of all very cheerful which made our evening while enjoying the lovely carvery. We were an evening sitting, everything we wanted was still available, really delicious, good table, polite staff and our waitress Jamie was one of the best we have had whilst eating out at a resturant. We had table 14 and we were happy with the booth.Everyone was social distancing and lots of sanitising taking place and toilets were clean as well. Lovely meal again. Thank you

Four of us was greated at the door self distancing rules were clearly in place and hand sanitizer well provided, we sat at the table and was told how the system worked to que for the carvery then asked what drinks we wanted, to be served at our table.The chefs served our food up there was plenty to choose from turkey beef & gammon all beautifully cooked & tasted delicious. Our waitress the lovely friendly Olivia made us feel very comfortable through out the evening. Not forgetting the lady who was constently cleaning the tables with a visor on. Excellent evening & well done to you all ......

We have visited lots of toby restaurants around the country but this was by far the worst experience we have had . The beef had run out , as had the drinks machine .There was a large queue of people waiting to be seated when we arrived but the staff seemed uninterested in attending to us.

We had to wait some time to get seated, but once we finally were given our table we went up for our food fairly quickly. Sadly there was no beef, so not a four meat choice as promised in the advert. The refillable drinks machine had also broken, which wasn’t good. The service was very slow and I had to go up in the end to get our bill as the waitress wasn’t around.

Staff were RUDE! All of them, chefs and restaurant staff. Food was awful, what was left anyway. We had to ask 6 times for drinks. The restaurant was not busy it was a weekday evening 7/8pm. Dirty plates Every where, food area was filthy. Waitresses/waiters were all busy giggling around the bar or in the kitchen. The place needs closing or all new staff and managers!!

Went in here for a breakfast and was very pleasantly surprised. I would have to say the buffet style breakfast was very well presented with a wide range to choose from. The breakfast Yorkshire puddings where great. They use proper sausages, fresh mushrooms not out of a tin... Fresh tomatoes... Its an all you can eat style breakfast self server but quite honestly you should only need to visit the buffet once.

I've been a longtime fan of toby carvery but most have closed near me but we decided to call in and try the breakfast for the first time here as it broke up our journey to the coast. This one is very modern compared to most toby's, felt a bit soulless if I'm honest, the 1 staff we seen was very polite, told us how it worked, the choice was good, but none of the food was particularly hot, sausages were nearly cold, bacon was very fatty, the hash browns were nice. Real shame as I've in the past had some Brilliant breakfasts at toby, it wasn't bad, just could have been better.

Went here with a two course carvery groupon voucher on 27/02 at 18.00 hrs .When the waitress took our order we were told several starters were unavailable and the ice cream machine was faulty . She was not prepared to offer us any alternatives .After ten minutes I overheard someone being told only turkey was available from the carvery where upon I cancelled my starters and left the premises .This has to be the worst establishment I have ever visited and would advise to avoid .

Well ... we have often wondered what this would be like ..unfortunately not hot beans, hash bs, mushrooms, filter coffee, rubbery veg sausages - typical buffet food

The tables were still wet when we were seated. When queuing for the Carvery ,we were told that there would be at least a hours wait for Roast Beef with no apology given .The waiting staff seemed completely overrun ...The Chefs and Kitchen staff were not wearing hats The vegetable section was a complete mess and counter very dirty and Cauliflower cheese was finished without being replenished .Very disappointing ....

Visited here as a table of 7 and we booked ahead. On arrival there was only turkey left and not a very large selection on the carvery in terms of veg and sides. Some staff were friendly, others made you feel like they didn’t want you to be there. The only good thing was the price. But we still Won’t be returning!

We haven't been to this Toby in years, good few yrs! We used to be regular when it was under old management! David was the head chef and though he was known as the grumpy carver I always got on with him and never had a bad meal. The food used to be fresh and full with clean areas around the food! We used to get served promptly with smiling staff and on the ball managers! Well we stopped coming after the main staff left as it wasn't great and we started going to The Farmers in yaxley! After a good few years we thought we'd try again hoping for change.....I was so shocked. Cold scraps of food, half the meats not available, lumpy gravy, staff that made you feel incontinent for asking for a drink and VILE DIRTY AREAS around the food and gravy. Chefs that stood there talking and waitresses busy giggling around the bar. We won't be returning, get back David and Daniel! The restaurant used to be so good with atmosphere and lovely food but no any more god knows what's happened its so sad reading some reviews from regulars feeling the same. R.I.P Toby Carvery it would seem.

My wife and I took my elderly mother for lunch. We arrived at the restaurant only to be told we couldn’t eat because we hadn’t booked. The restaurant was less than half full at approx 1pm.
