Went recently for a big surprise family meal. Food was hot, lovely and catered for everyone (even my two fussy little eaters who are not easy to feed!) Made to feel welcome every moment we were there by all the staff. Theres also a little play bit for the kids down the bottom of the garden which they thought was amazing!

I’ve just read the past few reviews and wonder if I’ve eaten in the wrong place, but no, this is the same restaurant. After ordering and food being served it seems there was a mix-up between my wife and myself - of course I’ll take the blame (that what happens after 50 years of marriage). For my good lady I ordered Eggs Royale, but I should have ordered Eggs Benedict, but what do I know, I’m a vegetarian of 30 years, but I’ll whisper this bit because I ordered what she asked for - so there! Our server heard our conversation, but my wife said that she’ll eat what she wanted and leave aside the rest - this was then passed on to the restaurant manager who insisted the correct meal be delivered, so a big thank you to the restaurant manager Karl, who went over and beyond his remit. That’s very good service.

Deafening loud. Intimidating chubby bored looking bar tender.Walked in...... walked out.... music way too loud for an afternoon visit. Shame as the seating/interior was nice. Just not a social atmosphere

My brother hired the cellar bar for his 50th birthday. He brought his own decks to DJ. At 10.55pm the female manager suddenly appeared and smashed her hand across his decks and demanded they were turned down. Bear in mind they paid for the cellar bar to 11pm, and the volume had not changed since 9pm. Suddenly rounds of shots appeared as an apology, but far too late. My brothers birthday was ruined. I’m can’t express how much this utterly ruined his birthday. It entirely changed the vibe. Appalling management. Never seen anything like it. I would add the bar staff were lovely. His help then working for her.

We chose two bacon ciabatta rolls, a chicken focaccia, a coffee latte and a half white coffee. The bacon was dry and burnt on the edges and pretty tasteless. The focaccia was fine. The total bill came to just over £20. Which I certainly did not regard as value for money.

Our office Christmas party night at Ravens was a fantastic night. The service was very friendly and I can honestly say that this was the best food of all the work Christmas parties attended over the years. Thanks to all of the Ravens team for making this a night to remember. We hope to be back next year!

Visited for a birthday lunch and was greeted by Gemma. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. We chose to take our first drinks outside to view the menus in the sunshine. We were made to feel so welcome and at ease. Nothing was too much trouble…more like the answer is yes now what’s the question! Deciding to remain outside for our starter we chose the oysters and asked if they could be cooked in tempura batter which arrived superbly presented with a delicious mayonnaise. With a very comfortable break our main courses were brought out to us…Plaice on the bone stuffed with prawns and mushrooms in a sauce with new potatoes and samphire…skate wings in caper butter with chips and vegetables. We opted to have desserts inside and these didn’t disappoint either…classic crepes suzette with vanilla ice cream! A wonderful 3 hours with superb friendly service throughout! What an absolute treat! We will definitely be returning very soon! Thanks to the whole team!

I attended Hitchin Priory with 3 other members of my family for Christmas Day lunch. The whole experience from start to finish was exceptional. The staff, service and food were all excellent. The feel of the room was very relaxing and the tables nicely spaced out. The atmosphere was very convivial. If it is still the same set up next year we shall definitely be back. Our visit to Hitchin Priory made our Christmas Day. Thanks to all concerned.

I'm sorry to hear about the consistently poor service, especially from female staff, and the issues you've encountered at the restaurant. As a local customer and coffee enthusiast who frequents the place twice a day, you express your desire to sit upstairs due to limited space downstairs. You highlight the uncooperative attitude of a particular employee, mentioning you are a restaurant owner yourself. Furthermore, you point out ongoing problems such as non-functional toilets, uncollected glasses on the upper floor, and overall poor cleanliness. You emphasize the lack of supervision, and you urge them to address the issues promptly, as you've made this disorder a matter of pride.

There were kids driving around on electric scooters even though they were banned on the site. The would literally ride up to the bar and be served, it wasn't safe with so many little kids around. We ordered a pizza and two sides. The sides came out within 5-10 minutes of us ordering but it took a further 45 minutes for our pizza to arrive (having to ask a member of staff twice). When it arrived it was greasy and unappetizing.
