Thank you Ibrahim at the service counter for taking such good care of my problem with the fish. I'm accustomed to rude service at Peterborough Waitrose. I shop there for the convenience and quality. Writing to Waitrose to complain is a waste of time really.

We always use waitrose, not the Peterborough one but we were in the area and went in to pick up a few bits and see some profiteroles were reduced, the staff member was reducing them again and as soon as he see us looking at them he put them down so we asked him if they were being reduced any more and he said yes so we waited and waited, we asked him again and he said in an angry manner when I get round to it but he had them in his hand. He was so rude to us and made us feel like we were begging him to reduce them so we put them down and my partner went to complain to a staff member about his attitude but they wasn’t interested, we went to the tills to pay for the stuff we were buying and we heard the staff members laughing at us saying we wanted to buy reduced items saying they must be poor. I wrote an email to the store and they have totally ignored me. Horrible rude staff

Not again! Only one person in the kitchen so no hot food on offer other than chips and Welsh rarebit. This has happened several times on recent months so, needless to say, I won't be returning anytime soon. To be honest. I don't know why they bother with coffee, snacks and cake the only guaranteed food available. This place, next to the bus and rail stations, should be a goldmine but, at the moment, it is a total embarrassment

O'dear, the service at the tills is getting worse, as now they only have four tills open, the rest is taken up by self service only. It was bad enough trying to get served before with i guess were maybe eight tills, and usually only two or even one manned the times i shop there, which is on a regular basis. It's a good job they have manned counters that sell fresh meat, fish and cheese which are excellent btw, otherwise i would think of going elsewhere.

I visiy the city centre area on a regular basis and have started using the café over the last few weeks. I have been a vegetarian for around 38 years so I tried the vegetarian set options. Eggs Florentine, poached Eggs as savoury options and Pancakes as a sweet option. I was very impressed with all three meals. The Florentine was as I expected, well presented and tasty. The poached eggs accompaniments were a pleasant surprise - hummus, avocado, vine tomatoes and rocket. The flavours complimented each other - delicious. Baby vine tomatoes has been a new experience for me with a breakfast and definitely a plus point. The pancakes made a pleasant change and were tasty and well presented. I usually drink Earl Grey tea with fresh lemon or a flat white coffee. I usually go at about 9am so the café is not full, hence excellent service by helpful staff. A pleasant, clean and bright café. My only complaint is that you do not have the café menu on your website. Thank you.

I had a tea in the lovely café here while waiting for my boyfriend to get in to the train station. Aaisha who served me was very polite and professional. After paying for my tea I decided to buy two pastries to takeaway and Aaisha gave me one for free as an ‘on us’ gesture - how kind. It made my day, thank you!

Waitrose excels at creating a worthwhile shopping experience. Next to Peterborough station it is well placed to enhance arrival/departure experience. And depends on mainstay of regular shoppers choosing to shop at Waitrose. The staff are exceptionally helpful. Merchandise is second to none. The restaurant is a comfortable place to take a break. As a 'MY Waitrose' card holder I feel valued. Therefore I can select my shopping in a comfortable environment and also enjoy one of the best coffees on offer in Peterborough. Then go directly to the Queensgate bus station with my free Guardian newspaper (that gets recycled). There is an option to choose the Telegraph (for free) and 2 hours free car parking.Thank you to the management and staff on behalf of all who visit Waitrose.

Always a popular cafe for me to meet friends, primarily because of great parking and early availability. Generally clean tables with plenty of choice of sitting, nice to be outside when the weather permits.Staff often take a while prepping drinks if they're on their own and a queue can build up quickly at busy times.

I was third in the queue at 14.35 (not at the peak of a lunchtime rush) and the two people in front of me ordered and paid for their drinks and food (chicken curry and a soup) and were then told there would be a 20 to 30 minute wait, even for the bowl of soup. As they were in a hurry they decided to cancel and get a refund. When my turn came, although I was looking forward to having Welsh Rarebit I was also told there would be a wait so decided to have a coffee and a cake. When I sat down there were ten other people in the cafe so the wait was inexcusable. I watched those serving. Normally, in restaurants, waiters are running around like blue tailed flies, but here if the three I saw had gone any slower they would have been walking backwards. After 20 minutes they came out with the cancelled food (the curry and the soup) as the cancelled order had not been passed on to the kitchen. It was offered to people free but this was not taken up and taken back to the kitchen, presumably to be thrown away. So much for Waitrose's green credentials. I will not be visiting again, especially on a Saturday, as the cafe is obviously staffed by school kids who are under no adult supervision. If Waitrose want to benefit from being next door to a major train station, they need to realise that some of their customers might be time limited when calling in for something to eat. With regard to the green credentials, I have given up trying to get receipts recycled. I have been told by Head Office that they are shredded and recycled but when I ever mention this to staff I get the response "that's news to me."

Stopped by this large, conveniently located Waitrose to buy food and supplies before catching our train from the station. It’s really helpful to know this store is situated right next to the train station and very useful. Always enjoy their pastries. Waitrose needs to really get a grip of the management of this cafe. We were there this morning and during the 30 minutes we had a drink a total of 7 tables were piled high with trays of dirty crockery. When a member of staff came out (infrequently) with food they never cleared tables, just went back empty handed. The only 2 staff appearing to be working were the 2 serving coffee and cakes. For Waitrose standards this was really poor & it will be a while before we go back again.

I visit regularly and the quality of the food is always of a good standard. Not sure if it is because the offers have changed (again) recently, but the cafe seems less busy these days. Still concerned at the level of recycling at Waitrose. Till receipt are offered and if refused are not recycled. Despite assurances that they are shredded and recycled, no-one at any of the cafes I have visited are aware of this and throw receipts away. Some education is needed here.

I use Waitrose a lot for specialist shopping and love their stores. I decided to have a quick bite to eat instead of going to a fast food outlet. I ordered the Aberdeen Angus burger at £5.75. I didn't have any side dish or drink with it otherwise it would have been far too expensive. The burger was in a brioche roll. It was as dry as old Barney's bull. There was a big of iceberg lettuce, a slice of tomato and two half gherkins. Luckily I had some mayonnaise and ketchup to liven it up. Sorry Waitrose, it was poor. Look at the competition who are giving far better value for money. I was so hungry I ate it and didn't complain. I just won't eat there again.

We've eaten in the cafe twice in the last month and found it to be great. The menu is really nice - such a change from baked potatoes and boring sandwiches. I've had the halloumi, chickpea with wild rice salad both times which is a great light lunch with lots of grilled halloumi. My only minor niggle is that there is way too much salad (mostly spinach and rocket) so I tend to leave at least half of that. I hadn't claimed my free coffee (with a MyWaitrose card) before so was very pleased to find that I could have any coffee and not just a plain one. The staff are all pleasant and helpful and we especially like the bright seating area with loads of natural light and newspapers to read. This morning I went into the store to purchase a coffee whilst waiting to collect someone from the station. Have done this on quite a few occasions. I walked in this morning to see a large queue for the coffee machine. the lady at the counter said that the other coffee machine was not working. Whilst standing in line (8/9 people in front of me) I noticed to my right a counter with a WORKING coffee machine and no one using it - the young lad behind the counter just pottering around. obviously this large line of people in his sight. I noticed a gentleman go up to the counter purchase a muffin and got a coffee, so I stepped out of the line and went and asked the young lad if possible we could use his machine......My Reply: No, not unless you purchase something. Mmmm bearing in mind this line is caused by the store's machine breaking down, a perfectly good working one in front of all these people, and no one thought to waiver the normal requirements of that counter in order to offer good customer service to people standing waiting to use this machine. I am in customer services myself and if there is one thing I detest is poor/bad customer service. Surely in order to help your customers the other coffee machine not being used could have been used to help these people get on their way quicker than they were. Have to say as well that if this is the standard practise - staff not using initiative to help customers - then I think id rather shop at Tesco's who at least sort issues like this out. Surely management should have thought of this the minute they knew the coffee machine was broken. Just a thought - A managers role to make things happen and problem solve so that customers are pretty much unaware of issues. Rant over, just shocked because you have a reputation of good customer services . Disappointed if nothing else

I don't get why a classy up-market supermarket like this would bolt on what is clearly an after-thought of a restaurant. On our visit, 70% of the tables were empty but still loaded with old plates and leftovers so we had to clear our own table. Service was then painfully slow and the food (scampi) was worse than you'd get in a poor chip shop with a lousy excuse for scampi that was barely edible.Very expensive, poor service and a feeling that it was "not as important" as the main store. This pub has come a long way. It's a traditional pub which does some food but it is not the modern-day theme pub that is ‘dressed up to the nines’ and tries to be everything to everyone. A good selection of beers at reasonable prices and personable staff all helps. The atmosphere is positive and traditional and the two lads who run the pub work hard to keep it clean. The downside is not being able to take your dog into the pub now the autumn has arrived and the chain has stopped selling peanuts, a good seller I understand. Keep up the good work.

Four of us ate here in the restaurant. Starters wild mushrooms in cream/garlic on bread. Mains - gammon, braised beef, pork belly and fish and chips. Desserts apple and rhubarb crumble. The service was excellent and food hot and tasty. Excellent portions and well priced. Only one suggestion- the crumble top needed cooking/browning more. it was pale and tasted floury. Also be nice to have some background music as only a couple of tables occupied.
