BB's Coffee & Muffins in Braintree

Popped in for some lunch. Really really busy and cramped - tables are far too close together so people are falling into you to get past. Food ok - staff a bit disorganised and didnt get the orders quite right. Steak bake I had a bit average -- wasnt all that. Needs improvements.

We had such delicious food every time we went at bbs coffee freeport braintree. Fantastic panini, great muffin and coffee. Thank you for the great service and food

Poorly run and not very clean tea room, food prep a disaster had a breakfast bap that was just a little bit of ham in a brioche bun. I am sorry to say this really lets the center down

A poorly managed café, with slow and inefficient service. I had a long wait for my coffee, and when finally drunk spotted something at the bottom of the cup, probably a piece of bread or cake (not mine). We had baguettes which were average at best, probably been sitting around a while. Little choice of places to eat/drink at Freeport, but best to go outside rather than here.

My husband and I went for a coffee here whilst shopping at Freeport. The cafe tables was dirty and hadn’t been cleared away, we should of walked out then actually. The queue wasn’t particularly long but the wait was unbelievable, all we ordered was two blended ice coffees and one muffin, quick you would think, we was waiting nearly 15 yes 15 mins for the coffee!! Their excuse was there was only one blender working, there was no one else in the queue or waiting for another blended drink, I did point this out but all I got was this explanation and a shrug of the shoulder, eventually when the coffees did arrive it was the worst iced coffee we had ever had, don’t know what they blended it with or whether or not coffee was actually in the drink but it was tasteless, weak and quite frankly disgusting. Will never go back and wouldn’t recommend this place.

We are regular visitors to BBs in Braintree. The staff are always friendly and the coffee tastes great. Definitely recommend!

Unfortunately this was not a good place for lunch at freeport Braintree. The weather wasn't good and costa was full, so we decided to try this place out. It didn't have a great atmosphere but decided on a drink and paninni each. We waited ages at the counter for our order while everyone after us got their drinks. Our paninni's were getting cold by the time we were acknowledged we didn't have it drinks yet. We did get a few muffin each for the trouble, however the staff openly admitted they didn't know how to make a mocha. They tried, but it wasn't right and didn't taste great. I don't rate the food in general either. The girl doing drinks there was only on her second day and I know everyone has to start somewhere, so do not fault her service. But the other two members didn't seem to be that efficient or organised. We were sadly disappointed in this cafe.

My daughter and I ordered two jacket potatoes which were lukewarm and not even warm enough for the cheese to melt on them. We also ordered a sausage roll for my grandson which was very tough as apparently the whole batch had been over cooked. The Earl grey tea that I ordered and paid for never materialised so I had to go and ask them where it was. Admittedly a member of staff made me a tea there and then and the sausage roll was swapped for a doughnut but the whole experience was wholly unsatisfactory.

Whenever shopping at Freeport Designer Village we start off with a lovely decaffeinated coffee & hot muffin. The service is excellent & there are plenty of tables. Highly recommended.

Delicious gluten free lemon and poppy seed muffin made by the lovely Sam just for me! Just yum! It's tough to find gluten free options out and about so I was so happy to see they had an option for me ☺️

I and my wife visited BB’s Braintree last weekend we ordered Chicken hot wrap and it was amazing was quite busy but the staff perfectly managed it, then we had 2 coffee absolutely the best coffee we had. recommended, we happy to come back every time we visit Freeport.

The best muffins I’ve ever had, absolutely delicious, place tidy and clean staff very helpful, good prices, food quality was very good, bbs makes me and my family happy every time we go there, definitely visit again.

I ordered the breakfast bap “wakey wakey” In the advertised photo it shows bacon and egg on a roll and included a hot drink We paid and then had to Continue to another queue to wait for tea and coffee The lady in front said she had been waiting almost ten minutes I decided I wanted to eat my food while it was still hot. And return afterwards for the tea and coffee HOWEVER when I opened the roll it was completely are except for a strange meat that we think may have been turkey ham It was not bacon and there were no eggs I couldn’t eat it and exchanged it for a cheese and onion slice, it was equally unpleasant filled with a cheap tasteless cheese I didn’t eat that We then went back and queued for our drinks The tea was weak and the coffee tasteless We observed a lady waiting for tea for over 5 minutes, she said her food was cold I would recommend going to a well known coffee shop close by

Only about six tables occupied in what’s quite a big cafe, but the service was slow, the sole server seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else, not a smile to be seen. There were tables still strewn with used crockery, and the place seemed generally untidy. However the coffee was decent, which I guess is the most important thing, they just need to up there game and make the place more welcoming and efficient.

Visited Bb’s few times, always founding staff very helpful and making their best. Coffee is always like heaven in a small cup, muffins teasing you every time I get there. And they are delicious. Definitely will be back.

My double espresso was great, the best I've ever had in England. The staff was kind and polite . The place looked clean and tidy.

Busy cafe service quick. However the staff seem quite tense and under pressure to work with the queue. Which in turn did not make it a relaxing experience. Hot food was being produced quickly but quite chaotic on who had ordered the food. Coffee and muffin fine. Yes would visit again

Good value for money overall and the muffins are close to perfect. Lacks on customer service with staff always running around and not helpful. Most of the empty tables were dirty and people were standing with trays waiting for a member of staff to come and clean. Not impressed. I decided not to wait and bought a muffin and a latte to take away.

Good value for money..kids loved ice creams..coffees etc were all good..nice snacks..a good experience when walking round Freeport.

We ordered a jacket potato and two iced lattes, the former of which was a good size and sufficiently tasty. The iced latte however was not an iced latte, rather just a cold watery coffee with some milk. An iced latte should have a little foam on the top, and a bit of depth to it, but this was literally as if a normal coffee had gone cold in the cup. Summer is in full swing and more people will order these, so more quality is needed. Not impressed.

Came here earlier this year the place is good value for money. Cheap and it also has excellent customer service Sam is a very helpful young man and was always there to assist you if there's a problem. I recommend this place to anyone I give it full start. Definitely worth the trip and I'll be visiting again

Called in whilst in Freeport, my wife fancied an ice cream!

Have stopped for coffee and muffins before..but this time stopped and had their New Zealand Natural Ice Cream..which was fantastic on a hot day .,I had Strawberries and cream..other half had salted caramel..LOVELY

Whenever my wife & i visit Freeport designer village Braintree we start off with a nice warm moist muffin & their excellent decaffeinated coffee.

A truly dreadful experience today. I made the mistake of purchasing a 'bacon' sandwich and a 'bacon' & cheese panini, one diet coke and a bottle of water. I've put the word 'bacon' I quotes because they jury is still out on whether it actually was.. I have asked them to advise on who there supplier is ( no response yet) as it I have suspicions that the 'bacon' is actually some kind of cheap alternative. I would advise against anyone purchasing either a sandwich or panini from this establishment. Had better food on an cheap airline!

We often used to stop here for a coffee & a baguette but this time the choice was extremely limited - 4 to be precise [and 2 of those were chicken]. As it was a cold day, I eventually opted for a warm Cornish pasty but it had the wettest, soggiest filling imaginable. It was difficult to find any meat in the mush.Big disappointment.

Whenever we visit Freeport shopping centre we visit BB's for a hot cup of coffee & a hot freshly made muffin. The service is always friendly & polite & the prices reasonable. Highly recommended for a break while shopping.

After visiting Freeport on my late night shopping to see Gemma Collins turn on the lights i thought id pop into BBs for a hot chocolate to warm up! Despite being busy, it cannot be faulted! Hot chocolate was one of the best ive had and the muffin was to die for! You can certainly see how much hard work goes in to them! The staff were very helpful and created a great ambience amongst the place. Will certainly be visiting again!

Can’t believe the difference between here and the Chelmsford branch - they should go to Chelmsford to see how it’s done !

Tomamos un almuerzo tan precioso aquí en el sol! A pesar de estar muy ocupado con ser Pascua, el servicio era todavía brillante y el miembro del personal con el pelo azul era encantadora y muy amable. La comida era genial, en especial los muffins!

Después de visitar muchas tiendas de café por el condado, decidí ir a visitar el café y muffins bbs situado en Freeport Braintree. En el primer pensamiento el aspecto interior no le hace justicia, como dicen no juzgar un libro por su cubierta. Este sin duda se aplica aquí! Me decidí a tomar el almuerzo; yo pedí pollo panini barbacoa con un capuchino y una de sus famosas magdalenas. El personal llamado Ben que me atendió era un buen muchacho que me ofrecieron su Panini y oferta de café donde es más barato que comprar los dos por separado, también los molletes sólo £1! ! ! ¡Qué ganga! Sin duda nos alojaremos allí de nuevo y lo recomendaría a otras personas también.

El servicio era impecable, ambiente acogedor y los helados son increíbles! Preguntad por el maravilloso personal allí y el tío con el pelo de moda un servidor super, definitivamente voy a volver!

The best muffins around! Every time we come to Braintree, we visit! Friendly staff, lovely muffins & a great cuppa! Bring back the chocolate brownies! We love the easter muffins & the sticky toffee ones!

Efficient and charming service, best milkshakes around and a great atmosphere, highly recommended (and I'm not easy to impress). Also check out their muffins ... wow!

The atmosphere was very relaxed, and yet the employees seemed to be completely enthusiastic and committed to providing the best and most pleasant service possible.

Family trip of 5 ordered 1 coffee 4 chilled drinks.Served 2 drinks instantly then a 3rd a couple mins later.Watching from table staff changed jobs and then when asked for missing drinks. One couldnt seem to read english two barely understand english and you could only laugh at the service.we were not the only customers haveing a hard time.I suggest spend a little more and go costa or starbucks.Otherwise my 17 pounds for a family of 5 at a 30 min comedy club was good value. Shame thats not what i was looking for,

As a frequent visitor to Braintree Freeport it's always nice to stop for a coffee or some lunch. We chose BB's on this occasion and really wished we hadn't.Staff are miserable and look like they don't want to be there, the tables are not cleared efficiently and the place is filthy. We had a jacket potato for a lunchtime snack - it was cold and not cooked properly in the middle and the filling was less than generous. The salad it was served with had seen better days and the lettuce was wilted and brown round the edges. Very disappointing.Needless to say we will not be returning. It used to be good so I'm not sure what's happened...perhaps they are under a different management?

Whenever we visit Freeport designer village we pop into BB's for a great cup of coffee together with a freshly baked muffin.We always receive friendly service and would recommend this coffee shop to anyone.

There was only one staff member when we visited and unfortunately he was very unfriendly. However the coffee was great. Everywhere looked a bit grubby and unloved and there weren't many customers. Could be great with a bit more attention and some good staff.

This was my first visit to Freeport and took a shopping break at BBs coffee. First impression about the place was average, but the service and quality of the food was very good that uplifted overall impression.This place has great range food and drinks, but was bit expensive. I will visit again if i will come to shop at Free port.

Although the sandwhich food looks good in the display cabinet this place is dirty.All the tables and sides need a thorough cleaning. Floors look like they have had bins dragged over then. Had tea served in a dirty cup.Nice enough staff but even they had dirty uniforms on.Won't go back. Not a patch on the Chelmsford one.

Visited with children. Had lunch during shopping excursion at Freeport. Baguette sandwich fillings generous and freshly made up. So generous, in fact that it was quite messy to eat. Paninis tasty too. Sausage roll eaten by one of the kids very passable. Free Wi-Fi on site.All said, not really lifting head above the average coffee shop, but certainly nice for a sit down and break from shopping. No particular problems or criticisms.

Popped in for some lunch. Don't know what was going on with the staff they were oblivious of the customers waiting and engrossed in talking. Food order taken then the girl just walked off and started making coffee and did not finish serving me. There is something wrong with the staff here. They make it very chaotic and don't seem to know what's going on. It's not a place I will visit again. Hot food luke warm and not nicely served. Just plain. No nice touches. Could be better. Needs to be better and staff more organised.

I have to say that every time we visit BBbs we are never disappointed. All the hot food is great & we love their Muffins. Coffee is of Great value and size. Their deals when they have them are a bargain.

We were meeting friends in Costa Coffee but they were so busy and no tables, we popped round the corner to BB's. There were plenty of tables and great coffee.We had toasted sandwiches, muffins and a decent cup of tea, which you don't get in Costa.We sat for a very long time, chatting and at no point were pressured to leave.Great deal on food too.......coffee, toastie and muffin....£5. Great value.The toilets needed a bit of a clean, especially the disabled one.Friendly staff too

I have no idea how this place manages to serve anything. It's utter chaos. The drinks and food are all served at the end of the counter so several people are hanging around waiting for drinks. The guys making the drinks asks you what you ordered and makes it. I had to ask for my soup as it had been forgotten.The tomato and basil soup was delicious and the servers were very pleasant and working hard.

The staff are cheerful and attentive. The coffee is freshly made and the range of sandwiches, snacks and pastries is extensive. We never miss a visit here whenever we shop at Freeport. Sometimes it can be busy, but the outdoor seating is OK when the weather is good enough.

This place is an ideal place to stop and have a break when shopping at Freeport as it is in the middle of all the shops. Freshly baked on the premises and hot and tasty. Staff are friendly and helpful so pop in and relax then get back to shopping.

Definitely the best Jacket Potato I have had for a long time! Lots of choice of toppings. Lovely coffee too.Very friendly service.5* lunch!

I'm a member of staff of freeport and didn't get discount then my friend who also works in freeport got discount and when I asked the guy said I should of ask and didn't apologize for the mistake even though he recognized me on entering.

Clean, pleasant environment to sit and have coffee and/or snack. Their jacket potatoes are excellent. Staff are attentive and cheerful. Great customer service!

I went there in December last year. I was positively surprised that they serve a wide variety of food. I have enjoyed panini and coffee. I couldn't resist having muffin too. Service was fast and efficient. Great quality of food and nice coffee. Lovely place to go to. Would go there again.

I visited bbs coffee and muffins Braintree in Dec 14 with my friends and we have ordered coffee, jacket potato and muffins. All Food and service was excellent and I have enjoyed with my friends. Would love to visit this place again

We ordered some baguettes to be made up one lunch time. Initially we thought it was fantastic that they would do this. It turned out to be a huge waste of money!We wanted ham and instead were given turkey ham - it's not even from the same animal!! We said that it wasn't what we wanted, but the staff didn't care. We were refused a refund or even an apology. I wish I could say we ate the baguettes plain, but it was rock hard, so needless to say that wasn't eaten. The whole place is cluttered and seems to lack basic hygiene. I wouldn't bother wasting your time there.

Just had the misfortune of eating there. The staff are inept and struggle to fulfill a basic food & drink order. On top of this they cleared my plate while I was trying to get the drink they had failed to serve and when I challenged them they seemed genuinely amused.!The food quality was poor the salad in my baguette was limp and unappealing, very disappointing. I would have to be very hungry to eat there again,Mark F

This is a very clean coffee shop with outside tables.We had freshly baked Blueberry Muffins with our hot coffee which provided just the tonic before we got back to our shopping.The service is fast and the staff very polite and we would recommend the café to anyone.

Nice place, VERY clean and tidy. Muffins are fresh and incredibly tasty. Coffee is as good as in Costa or Starbucks. Definitely recommend!

me and my boyfriend ordered a jacket potato and it came and looked like it had been rolled around in mud and fluff!!we complained and they wouldnt do anything about it!!!not happy!!wouldnt go back!!

A good value coffee shop whihc offers a range of options for a light lunch. Great place to wait while the rest of the family shop!

Shop looks good and clean from outside and inside and produce is varied and plentiful.Drinks are hot (for chocolate and coffee) and the cold drinks cold.The muffins looked good along with the bagettes.That's until you take a bite.The muffins were light and tasty but the pecan and banana contents were only in the top 1cm. (Obviously the extra contents may have made them too heavy?)As for the bagette, that was just astonishing. The bread was fresh but for a tuna/sweetcorn salad bagette, I just wasn't prepared for the first bite.The lettuce leaf (one of) the was torn in two and laid along the whole 7" bagette. The extra thin cucumber and beef tomato (tasteless) filled the rest. The tuna was obviously acurately positioned along the front of the bagette for about 1.5cm deep. The back of the bagette had NOTHING but the thin salad. Visually fantastic and mouthwatering. Delivery a void.They must be making a FORTUNE on one tin of tuna? I'm told a 1kg bag of sweetcorn is 89p in tesco and a 2kg jar of mayo is £1.99. On a quick calculation that's 686% profit for contents based on what I paid. (Didn't take into account the bread itself, so lefts half that for good measure to 343%!)Only got a poor rating because the wife liked her coffer and the top of the muffin...it would have been less I'm afraid......
