Palmers cafe was more than what I expected. Food was top notch. Staff was unbelievable catered for my family when we have little one. We had big table with room to put our pram. The price was very good too but the quality was even better. Credit to people who run this place they have done a great job

The food was very good (Beef bourguignon and steak burger). What ruined the experience for us was the small but very loud group of local drinkers at the bar using foul language. The young staff on duty said it was a continuing problem they had tried and failed to deal with. The owner needs to get a grip.

After a good 4 hours walking with our 3 dogs we stumbled upon The Grouse Inn So we decided to have dinner and drinks. We went in the front door to be met by a sign saying 'no dogs or children, use back door' Went to the back door to be met by a sign saying 'no dogs or children' So i asked the waiter where I could go, he said I couldn't take my dogs inside as they had a big table of people in 'the dog friendly bit' Luckily it wasn't raining so we sat out side. I ordered my drinks and asked about food. Was told I needed to hurry as the restaurant closes at 2pm, so we rushed our order to the barman. The bloke behind me was told he needed to hurry as the restaurant closes at 2:15 😱 Believe it or not, the bloke behind him was told to hurry as the restaurant closes at 2:30. 😂 Anyway, my fish and chips tasted like they'd been warned up most of the day, no matter how much tartar sauce, salt, vinegar and ketchup I put on, it was absolutely tasteless. There wasn't any check back to see if the food was ok. The only time the came back was to clear the table. 1st and last time eating at The Grouse Inn The only good thing about the place was the barman was too busy telling everyone to hurry up with their orders, he forgot to charge me for 2 pints of San Miguel. 😀😀👍🏻

We had high hopes for the Millhouse Pub in Worksop, having booked a table for 7 adults and a baby for my dads birthday. Unfortunately, what started as a pleasant meal quickly went downhill. Six of us received lovely meals, but my sister was served raw chicken. Yes, raw chicken!! She immediately sent it back, only for it to be returned a measly five minutes later – clearly the same piece, but this time just slightly more cooked. It was beyond disgusting that they thought this was acceptable. Naturally, my sister barely touched it after that. When she cut into it again, she found a vein running through the chicken. This would put anyone off their meal, knowing the risks of raw chicken, and she was understandably revolted. To make matters worse, a different server briefly came to check on our table, but only bothered to wait for myself to acknowledge ) I said my meal was fine, but she walked off without even acknowledging anyone else; including my sister, who was still sitting there with her barely-touched, revolting dish. When our plates were cleared, we told the server that all of our food had been great except the chicken, which had been an absolute disaster. And yet, no apology, no acknowledgment – nothing. Just the typical “Do you want dessert?” as if my sister hadn’t just been served something that could have made her seriously ill. Unsurprisingly, we declined. Then, the real insult came when I went to pay. The raw chicken meal was still on the bill! I politely mentioned this to the lady at the bar, but she rudely dismissed me, claiming she had checked on us earlier and no one had said anything. Seriously? I corrected her, reminding her that I had spoken up, but she hadn’t even given anyone else the chance before walking away. She rudely brushed it off and went to get the manager. I wish I could say the manager was any better, but he was even worse. He had the audacity to say he had taken a photo of the chicken, claiming that aside from a red vein, it was fine. What an absolute joke. He then went on to blame the lighting in the restaurant for making the chicken look raw! How ridiculous can you get? When I pressed him further, he admitted the photo wasn’t even from the first time it had been sent back as he wasn’t even aware of this. The server who took the dish originally confirmed it was sent back raw, but even after all that, he had the nerve to suggest we were making it up and it was the lighting… Finally, after all the unnecessary back and forth, the manager brought us an amended bill. But instead of removing the entire meal – as any decent establishment would do after serving raw chicken – he only removed the charge for the chicken itself, leaving us to pay for the chips and vegetables. I have never, in all my years of dining out, experienced such horrendous treatment after being served a dangerous dish. No apology, no accountability, and instead, they acted like we were the problem. This place is a disgrace. The food (other than the raw chicken) was lovely; however the customer service and management are absolutely atrocious. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone until they get a serious overhaul in how they treat their customers. Avoid this place like the plague.

Our afternoon tea was a gift from our daughter. The waitress was lovely and extremely attentive but the afternoon tea itself was very average. A selection of teas but all teabags! Afternoon tea usually consists of a selection of finger sandwiches and then homemade cakes. There were finger sandwiches but the fillings were very bland. There was a minute soggy pastry tart and a soup! The scones were good but very small and these are usually the centre piece of the tea but instead a slate filled with huge cakes was served. The almond tart didn’t taste of almond and the orange muffin was very heavy. Not nice at all. Have had far better.

We did a slight detour on a 4hr walk to get some lunch. We didn’t know anything about the place, it was just a convenient place to stop. We sat outside, it was pretty quiet I guess and the food arrived quickly. We’d both ordered the turkey and stuffing on brown bloomer. It arrived with a tub of gravy, too! Absolutely delicious!! We also bought one of ‘Aidan’s Giant Sausage Rolls’ as a take out! Still eating it the next day. The bar man was very friendly. Great position in the village, opposite the Church. Only a short stay of about 50 mins but we really enjoyed it!

Great food, couldn't get over how much we got. We sat in the restaurant. It was very nice and modern recently done up. The service was quick and friendly even though you could see how busy they were. Our waitress Indie was great but also very attentive. My hubby and i had the roast turkey. Our only critique is that the veg is a bit bland. Other than that it was divine. We will be back to try the main menu

Four of us visited Skypark Farm for brunch on February 6th. We all had coffee following which three had scrambled eggs on toast with bacon and one had a kipper. Although these were standard brunch items they were particularly tasty. Service was prompt. We were served by Sonia who was very friendly and welcoming. The environment is appealing and the cafe comfortable. We stayed for an hour and a half having drunk our second cup of coffee!

Took my brother out for his birthday treat here. The food was top quality, hot and tasty, reasonably easy on the pocket too. Nice atmosphere in the countryside. Friendly helpful staff. Clean restaurant and managed to get a table with a view of the fields even though it was a holiday week. Fantastic treat. Would go again and take someone else too. Thank you

Visit to the seaside wanted fish and chips, as I'm gluten free I usually struggle. Not here have gluten free on the menu, also curry sauce. We both had regular fish and chips, mine was wrapped separately from husbands as he had normal.Great portions glad we didn't go for the large.
