Never go anywhere else to eat when visiting town, in fact we make a special trip just for our lunch. All the food is homemade and the specials are top notch. If the Corned beef pie is on the specials then that is a must!! The atmosphere is welcoming, friendly and that goes for the customers and the staff and the owner/chef is a great guy!

Good choice of reasonably priced food. Service by bar staff who took order for food and drinks and by Ali who delivered our food was excellent.

Have eaten here many times and it remains one of my favourite restaurants in Northampton. Staff are always very friendly and attentive. Love the range and quality of food. Their onion bhaji scotch egg is a stand-out dish!

When I booked for our annual visit I was a little concerned as to whether the experience would be as good under the new owner. I needn't have worried. It was magnificent!! This thought was echoed by my party of 8. Plenty of food (we all took a box home) and pots of hot beverages. Great experience all round to the point that I have booked a return visit at Christmas for a party of 20.

Visited for lunch after seeing good reviews online. Looks cute but left rather disappointed. No proper food available, just a few pastrys, ordered two & was given an incorrect order. Hot chocolate just tasted like warm milk. :(

My wife and I, both of us in our late sixties, were driving back from Milton Keynes and decided to pop into Northampton to wander around the shops. We were getting a bit peckish, so not knowing the town we began to look for somewhere to eat, and happened across this fish bar. There were a lot of people sitting inside, and a queue for take-out (nothing advertises a place better than this scenario), so we decided that this was the place for our lunch. We got a table straight away and sat down to look at the menu. We noticed that they did a seniors’ special (fish, chips, mushy peas, bread & butter and a hot drink for £10.75 each), so we plumped for that. It took a while for someone to serve us at the table, but we weren’t in a rush so it wasn’t a problem. Now we had already been told that there was around a fifteen minute wait for food, so we were well aware of that. It appears that this is not the normal situation, but there was some problem that was unusual to the running of the establishment (they tried to explain it to us, but the reason went totally over our heads, although it didn’t matter anyway, as we were fully prepared to wait for the meal to be freshly cooked and brought to the table). In slightly less than the time we were given the meal arrived and looked good, and as it had just been cooked and brought immediately to the table, was piping hot. It also tasted great, and the tea was good quality. Now onto a few negatives, for which I’m going to drop this eatery down one point in the overall score. Back in our home town the same meal in our local café is similarly priced, but this is the cost to everyone, and not a special price for seniors, so we really didn’t think that the cost of the meal was that pensioner friendly. Also the fish here was much smaller than in our local eatery. Saying that the meal we had here tasted great and we did enjoy it. The staff are also some of the politest and friendliest people we have met running an eatery. We would eat here again if we were in town, and would recommend it as the meal was good, but consideration maybe need to be given to dropping the price a little bit more for it truly to be good value for senior citizens.

A hidden gem 💎 great value for money and amazing coffee and food. The milkshakes were a particular hit with the kids with such a huge variety of flavours. Cleanliness and presentation was 5 stars all round and staff were all really lovely and accommodating. Will definitely be back again!

We ate here for Sunday lunch and I must admit the food was absolutely outstanding. The roast dinners and accompaniments were cooked to perfection and served at the perfect temperature. The staff were both attentive and polite. The setting itself provides a lovely atmosphere to enjoy your food in. Would highly recommend and shall definitely be returning. 5*

A group of us visited for an evening meal. First impressions were good. The pub looks very nice both inside and outside. It has a good selection of beers. The menu is dominated by pub classics and there's nothing wrong with that. Two of us ordered the Hunter's Chicken. Initial presentation was good. The chicken looked good and the chips were good. Cutting into the chicken though revealed a horror story. Seared on the outside, the inner 75% of the chicken was stone cold raw. Not undercooked. Raw. Almost still strutting and clucking. The management was quick to respond and dealt with it effectively but there's no excuse for such sloppy cooking. Unappealing. Unhealthy. And dangerous considering the risk associated with undercooked chicken Would I go there again? I think not
