Visited for lunch after seeing good reviews online. Looks cute but left rather disappointed. No proper food available, just a few pastrys, ordered two & was given an incorrect order. Hot chocolate just tasted like warm milk. :(

The service and welcome was rushed, unhelpful and unfriendly and we were the only two waiting. I have a lot of time for anyone in a service role and I'm not a tough customer, but I won't be going back again. I love my coffee so I at least expect to have a very brief conversation about what is on offer but the girl just pointed me to the menu. The coffee wasn't great and the brownie, worse. I noticed a GF label after buying, if this was gluten free perhaps you should mention it, I didn't ask for a gluten free brownie. If the service had been in any way friendly or helpful I could have overlooked this, but the whole experience truly left a bad taste in my mouth.

Popped in for a drink with my daughter, we were attracted to the decor and feel of the place. We had a drink each which was fine although I thought the tea was quite pricey. The big thing it lacks is the personal feel of an independent cafe. The hello, when you arrive. Goodbye when you leave. Acknowledgment when you arrive at the counter, the smile, friendly feel. We overheard other people ordering and there wasn’t the friendly help/ recommendation/ chat you would expect. The other criticism was the music which just seemed to be heart fm style radio music, totally out of keeping with the decor and atmosphere they are trying to create. It’s a shame but I probably won’t visit again even though the food and cake looks delicious.

We found this venue by chance amongst numerous other conventional cafes. Being late for lunch we understandably only had once choice of panini (with a bag of crisps)but it was tasty and we shared a scrumptious orange cake and cream too. The place was charming and comfortable with cheerful staff. We would recommend it and would definitely come back next time we visit Northampton.

I am generally not a person to leave a bad review, I would rather not comment at all but after my visit here last week with my daughter, I felt I should comment on the prices. We both had paninis, two soft drinks (water and gingerbeer) and we shared a brownie and were shocked to see the bill came to £19.65. We double checked when we were leaving to see if the food was priced up and it wasn't and unfortunately we didn't get a receipt.

I was driving past when I spotted this little place and thought I’d pop in. I was not disappointed, I’m a big Harry Potter fan so the decor and music was delightful. Pleasant Saturday meander in Northampton - had some shopping to do on St Giles St - then time for coffee - saw what looked like a pleasant independent coffee shop which we'd never tried before - wasn't sure if there was space inside but went in anyway - wow! What a nice place. Looked like some great baking - we'll try the Bakewell tart and the ginger and pumpkin tray bake. Service is great - delivered to table very nicely presented. And tasty, very very tasty. Enjoyed our coffee / salted caramel hot chocolate. Definitely a new favourite. Love the theming.

I went for the vegan sausage roll which was out of this world, and the vegan carrot cake which was even better. Highly recommend the cakes. A cute, fun spot to hang out and drink some coffee. This place is my regular destination if I'm town! The atmosphere is amazing, it's all centred around fairytales and magic with loads of Harry Potter memorabilia and the films usually playing on a discreet tv in the corner. Fantastic range of cakes including vegan and gluten free and they're all amazingly tasty. Huge range of drinks including different tea flavours and about 15 different hot chocolate options! Staff are always bubbly and friendly and happy to offer recommendations when you can't decide for yourself!! There's just enough tables so that it's cosy without being cramped and there's little games like jenga and dominoes out for you to mind your time with! For the quality, the prices are good and no more expensive than what you'd pay for a chain restaurant but with the homemade cosy feel of an independent cafe! Only downside is there's a limited savoury option, only does sandwhiches/toasties which doesn't suit everyone but the toasties are lovely!!

I have come here a few times for a coffee and a toasty! I must say it’s a lovely little cafe with a very cool Harry Potter theme to it. The toasties are absolutely delicious and probably up there as one of the best I’ve eaten. The first time I came here I had a cheese and onion chutney one and it was served in a cute little basket with a packet of crisps, it was great the bread was particularly tasty. The second time I came I had the ham and cheese one and that was equally as good! Although both times I’ve visited I’ve had a toasty the array of delicious looking cakes and slices have always been extremely tempting, maybe next time I will cave in and treat myself to one! We also had a couple of cakes which were scrummy!!The cafe was beautiful inside, decorated to look very enchanted and magical, with amazing wall art! We will definitely be back!! Honestly their coffee was the best I've ever had!!

What a fantastic quirky little find the magic bean was. My friend and I stopped for coffee and cake. My friend was very pleased that they catered for gluten free and said the gluten free millionaire shortbread was delicious.I really enjoyed my banoffee cheesecake and cup of tea. I loved the milk jugs shaped as cows.2 drinks and cake were a reasonable £9.50.

I had lunch here recently and was pleased with the quality and selection of the sandwiches and home baked goods. This is a super cute café with friendly service. Very child friendly so somewhere that I would avoid at weekends and in half term but lovely for a week day lunch.

Wow,i can't explain just how great this place is. The staff are great, drinks and food are the best. My sandwich came with crisps (you could choose popcorn too) in a red riding hood basket! This place beats all the others around on atmosphere alone! So unique! When i was ordering the guy making coffee was using scales to make sure the exact amount went in (i think?),the attention to detail is impeccable. I'll be back, and i'll be recommending it to everyone i know!

WOW!!! What can I say about this place.... its perfect, its decorated amazingly and the story room is excellent. The staff are full of smiles and made my daughter laugh, they really are a pleasure and an absolute credit to the business. The little games on the tables kept my little one entertained with other family members and the books available for use while in the cafe were brilliant, a cup of tea, slice of cake and a book, I think I died and went to heaven. The food is brilliant, I had some cheese and pickle sandwiches and they were served in a little red riding hood basket and a cup of tea which had the cutest little cow milk dispenser.I love Harry Pooter so the kid in my was looking all round with dreamy eyes...there are some amazing little things to buy and even has the greatest milkshakes in town and the cakes are to die forI LOVE IT HERE!!!

Stumbled across this adorable café today with a friend. Being a big kid - I was delighted by the fairy tale and Harry Potter themed decor. There was only two sandwich choices, but being later in the day this is to be expected. We ordered our sandwich, to be told it came with crisps or popcorn as part of a meal deal -fantastic! When the tea and lunch arrived, to our delight, it was served in a red riding hood/ snow white style basket. (photo opportunity taken) We couldn't resist the home made selection of cakes and enjoyed one of these too - which was delicious. There were vegan and gluten free options too which caters for a variety of people. There was an excellent range of flavoured hot chocolates, milkshakes and smoothies. The only grumble I had, was a slightly larger savory menu would be great - maybe toasties and/or Panini's. All in all, a super find and a lovely cafe for old and young. We will be returning soon!

this is a gorgeous little find, their amazing concoctions are to die for. they change them around depending on the season etc. I had a eton mess milk shake and a egg nog latte.. oh my... the cakes are huge and I'm sure home made... the service is amazing .. but it is small.. iv yet to go in and not be able to find a seat but I would imagine on busy days its not easy. its a very Hogwarts themed place, but so laid back, lots of interesting things to look at on the walls and a eclectic mix of items on display.. Cinderella's glass slipper... there are lots of entertainment for the kids and adults.. books mags, dominos etc etc my little boy plays with the games we get to eat in peace .. sorted. love it here. cant praise staff enough.

I have popped in here a few times for coffee and cake. There is lots to look at while you eat, and plenty of choice. Some of the seats have backs, while some are just stools. I prefer the former!

Very quite little cafe with few tables and staff, making a lovely private ambiance. The theme is consistently held and the place is decorated with Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland paraphenalia, along with other fairy tale themes. All the food and drinks are also themed, and though a bit on the pricey side the portions are big and the quality is great. Though not very well advertised, they offer gluten free food too. The tables are topped with games and downstairs there is a story telling room for children's events. There are also a wide range of merchandise to be sold there.
