Bread and Pullet in Northampton

Have eaten here many times and it remains one of my favourite restaurants in Northampton. Staff are always very friendly and attentive. Love the range and quality of food. Their onion bhaji scotch egg is a stand-out dish!

I LOVE this restaurant.💗 Visited a few times now for different occasions, and every single time, the food and service are faultless. We try something different to get a full taste of the menu.. I have not been disappointed. The cocktails slip down farrrr to easy!! I would most definitely recommend to anyone. Perfect for couple, parties or just a group of friends on a catch. Staff and chef/owner make this restaurant friendly and welcoming to all. Parking available on the street. Covid measures observed. Spotlessly clean and well presented👍🏼👍🏼

We had an amazing meal here for a group of 11 of us. The food was excellent and the staff were really very friendly and attentiv. Would highly recommend.

We visited early evening pre theatre. Both of us chose three dishes to share. Everything looked amazing and the attention to detail was clear to see. It's no exaggeration to say that every mouthful was absolutely delicious. I don't eat meat but the vegetarian dishes were many , varied and extremely yummy. I've never had such lovely root veg and would have loved to get the recipe. Also shared a wonderful fig tart tatin. One chef in an open kitchen worked her socks off as did the one waitress. We will definitely come again.

1st timers at Bread and Pullet, was NOT disappointed! Great tasting food, could not fault it! Would recommend to anyone.

English tapas ... a lovely concept! brisket with treacle sauce, calamari, crab balls and lemon curd crewe brûlée to finish. All delicious.

We stopped in Northampton after 2 weeks out on the boat and having eaten happily at B&P before Covid, booked in on a hot Thursday evening. Arriving, we were surprised to find it empty, but enjoyed the aircon to ourselves The drinks were excellent(locally sourced gin), and the food superb and cooked to perfection. The curried Bhaji scotch egg is a brilliant twist, garlic mushrooms to die for, braised steak full of flavour and the lamb skewers something else!! Oak smoked salmon and Dirty Fries were sublime and the blue cheese rarebit filled any gap remaining. Service was obviously very good, with us being the only ones in, apparently Fri and Sat are packed, midweek is empty. Come on folks, get out and support your local treasures and enjoy safe and superb dining.

Portion control in the mind of the eater!!! Don't bite off more than you can chew lol.its so easy, because the dishes are so damn good. Truly.

I have never visited a restaurant with such a wide range of GF options for customers! Friendly servers and food was delicious. The only thing I would have changed is that they also gave us bread that contained gluten as an extra without us asking, but due to my diet it was a risk to have it being passed around the table alongside the rest of the plates (that were all GF). We were all very happy with the portion sizes and the care that went into preparing all the dishes. Would definitely recommend!

We returned to the Bread and Pullet today for the Father’s Day Gentleman’s afternoon tea, and as always, the food was fantastic. We booked weeks ago as these afternoon tea events always sell out, and you can see why. Firstly we arrived a little early but our table was ready. We sat down and checked out the drinks menu. There was a little wait to order drinks but the staff were busy and cleaning the tables after customers had left ready for the next booking. The teas were included in the price, obviously, and there were plenty to order from. Our daughter had the fruit bang, my partner had the classic breakfast tea but I went for the Naughty Float cocktail. All were lovely. The food arrived shortly after. Everything was fresh and tasty. The Marmite and cheese pasties were delicious, the venison sausages were lovely and the whitebait were tasty and crisp. There were also pork scratchings, with apple sauce and Duck Steamed buns, which my daughter and other half fought over. My absolute favourite was the Indian scone with mango chutney and a mint/yoghurt dip. I could eat more of those right now. The desserts were lovely too, loved the apple and salted caramel doughnuts, these were my fave. The gin cheesecake, the gooey chocolate brownies were divine but we were all too stuffed to try the peanut butter and jam eclairs and biscuits so we boxed them up to take home. All in all, for £20 each, it was a bargain. We loved the food and the staff were really efficient and friendly. It’s great to see an independent restaurant so busy, especially at the moment. We’ve always loved the B&P and we will definitely be back in the future. Well done Bread and Pullet, you’re a true gem in this town.

Just had a delicious selection of food. Excellent variety as we left it to the staff to choose. First proper takeaway meal in a year.will be back soon.

Just finished the amazing mothers day afternoon tea. Everything was delicious! Especially the scones. Ordering and collection were super easy too.

A small and lovely modern English restaurant that serves small tapas style dishes. Just enjoyed their French themed food and wine tasting menu. Squid, moules marineres, slow cooked lamb, tomato tart, Frog's legs and an intense chocolate mousse, all accompanied by a variety of glasses of very good French wines; fizz. White, red and rose.

Lovely Harry Potter Afternoon Tea, Golden Snitches just yummy, may have made a repeat order 👏🏆.

Staff were so so lovely and very clear on the regulations in regards to face masks and so on. This was probably my 6th time going to Bread and Pullet and as always, I was not disappointed. The food was incredible and so reasonably priced for the service and quality. We've ordered the Harry Potter afternoon tea for mid November and we are so excited for it. Can't fault B&P.

Brilliant and amazingly chilled food. We love this and recommended this plane. Is a shame we can't get out more to enjoy these places but as soon as we can all enjoy ourselves again you should frequent this place.

First time dining here. Really enjoyed it. For a silly reason, we went against the grain and order 4 plus dishes per person and whilst we ate it all, I was feeling a little worse for wear the following day due to a food hangover. Despite my over eating, the food was superb and the staff were great. I would thoroughly recommend. P.s stick to 2-3 dishes. 👍

Distinctly average - both the drinks and food menu are really exciting but I felt like they failed to deliver. The flavours didn’t balance for me and some of the dishes had poor sauce choices (for example salad cream or cold curry sauce). Staff nice and all wearing PPE which is great to see.

Daughters birthday treat. Food delicious. What a delightful restaurant.

Amazing tapas food with plates that you won't find elsewhere

Some of the dishes were pretty good but the fact they served us burnt bread to go with our Camembert left a bad taste in our mouth. I don't know why they would serve us it like that and by the time I had asked for new bread and it had arrived at the table the Camembert was starting to get cold.

Such an amazing find. Covid measures all in ce so felt really safe. Service was attentive and the food and cocktails were out of this world. Our first time here but will definitely be back again soon!

Tasty and well priced for the quality.

One of the most enjoyable evenings out food wise in a while. Follow the suggestions on the menu and you can't go wrong. Great flavours and a huge variety of dishes served in a "Tappas" style. Plenty of time to share and enjoy at a very reasonable price, the staff were attentive without being pushy and everything was served fresh and hot (not the ice cream) This is one we will definitely be back to as there are way too many dishes to cover in one night. For those who are interested the meal for 4 including deserts and two bottles of wine came to £135.

Probably the best place I've eaten in all of Northampton! Well worth a trip!

The food was quite bland, we had mainly vegan and veggie options and felt they were a little unloved.

Food was nice. Coffee was disappointing. Tasted like instant, and had no pouring cream.

This spot gives great service and delightful food. One of my favourite places around town. The drinks and food arrived fast and the prices are economical. I recommend this place.

Lovely evening for the Italian Wine Tasting and Tapas night. The food was lovely. So tastey and got to experience some foods I wouldnt ordinarily try. The ONLY reason I haven't put 5 stars is just because it was a little on the noisy side so felt like I had to talk quite loud but the positives make this feel very insignificant

Wowzers we walked by and found this place.... I don't know why we haven't seen it before but trust me... When I'm next in Northampton we will be there.. We tried the onion bhaji scotch egg which was amazing The cafe/restaurant was very clean and the staff were very friendly.

Enjoyed a night's family birthday dining here. We were a party of 6 and everybody found something to delight.

As usual our evening at Bread and Pullet was great. We had 6 little plates between the two of us. The food was excellent, unusual but brilliant combinations, very well cooked and presented. A lovely restaurant which Northampton must be very proud of. Both excellent quality and value for money.

Cute little place with something for everyone's taste. Lovely mix of flavours and vegetarian dishes too.

First visit tonight and I was so impressed. I will defo be back , there was not one dish I didn’t like. I even tried fig! Oh an 0 alcohol San migel for sober October too 10/10

Food was great complement to the chef was a full house and didnt fold under the pressure 👍 food very fresh and light with minimal grease. Rum bored is a great aspect to the night need to label drinks the bored had a really nice one out of the 3 but didnt no which one it was. Staff was very attentive to the table.

What a truly fabulous place. First visit for their Saturday brunch menu was so impressed we book to go back the following week to try their evening menu. Freshly cooked with care and thought. The menu has so much choice we will be returning ASAP to try what we missed out on ! Lovely friendly service too. Have been telling everyone it’s a must !

Had a fab brunch. Had the avocado brunch pizza. Bright and clean enviroment all locally produced food. A must to visit.

Really enjoyed this. We were stuffed after just 3 dishes each. Had been wanting to come here since trying the food at a pop-up at Althorp food fair, probably a couple of years ago. Almost everything was delicious (and the other one was just quite nice!). Liked the drinks list and service was very good too.

Superb family meal once again tonight at The Bread and Pullet. Too many wonderful dishes to choose from. The duck was a winner! All locally sourced ingredients. G&t's hit the spot Too!

If you are planning to attend then make sure you are not having to drive that day; their selection of Guns and local ale mixes well with a menu which both surprised and delighted all of us who stopped by for a meal. I hope to visit again soon

this has to be one of the best english tapas!, yes not very attractive setting but the food wow you will Be pushed to find better. CRAIG & his team conjur up some brilliant english takes on spanish tapas. the selection of ales&lagers are not bad either. great fun keep it up.

Comprehensively underwhelming. The food was overpriced and less than stellar when it arrived and the service was less attentive than most places I have been. I am disappointed, as I really wanted to like it.
