There's 3 chaps including myself that dine out and this is our new favourite place. The haddock is a generous portion, the chips are freshly cooked and a good plate full. Not keen on the curry but that's just my taste buds. Gravy is nice and we will be using again very soon. Lovely staff and the cleanliness of the establishment are worth a mention also. Any visitors to Boston for fresh fish and chips should visit here

Went this evening 10th June 23, we have friends coming over next week and was looking for places to visit with them. What an absolute s**t hole The beer tasted like vinegar, children in the bar, no evidence of food being served. The place was utterly filthy cobwebs stained brown they were that old. We should have taken heed before we went in, we commented on all the dead hanging baskets. Didn’t finish our drinks, husband left his because it was so bad. Avoid at all costs, I don’t understand why so many good reviews it’s awful, in fairness we didn’t sample the food. Woman behind the bar was pleasant enough.

Been there a few times and it’s always been lovely. Completely different experience this time. Took 40 minutes to get a menu (was told there wasn’t enough) told they’d bring our drinks to the table and just left them on the side. A dog came out the kitchen half way through our meal. Tables didn’t get cleared at the end when we ordered coffee. Service was absolutely shocking but luckily my food was better. 3 of our group had the gammon however and ended up poorly through the night. Unfortunately I won’t be going back despite really enjoying this place previously.

Was very upset and disappointed today when we turned up for my husband’s birthday with friends who had travelled two hours to surprise him to be told we had no booking. This was made almost a month ago and I even rang last weekend to double check the time and was told there was no booking. After explaining I was reassured that all had been rectified and it was all sorted and ‘in the book’ Today they said we booked on 1st November but I wasn’t even around that day as I was in Lincoln at an appointment. The 1st doesn’t even sound like 10th and I rang to double check on 3rd so that was after the 1st. I even said it was Remembrance Sunday so there was no mistaking the date. Definitely their error even though I was made to feel I had lied as ‘nothing was in the book’ Just got told they were full and nothing they could do. Wouldn’t be quite so bad had I not double checked the booking last weekend and yet they still got it wrong. Thank you for spoiling my husbands birthday and the surprise of our friends joining us when she had to ring to tell us there was a problem and thank you for leaving us with no lunch as everywhere was booked.

Finding a pub that has great service , tastefully styled and good food is sometimes a challenge nowadays. I had a positive experience here today . The Ale Garden is perfect, comfy seating and stylish cabanas . The attention to detail is spot on and the set lunch certainly did not disappoint. Whitebait and then a Minute Steak were perfectly cooked we had a a delightful 3 hour luncheon with attentive yet discreet service. Well done Team . We will be back .

Just grim. Table was booked for 12 sat down 12.20. Cavern at 12 didn't start till 12.25. Nothing was plain all veg apart from peas was fried or had sauce covering it. All roasted veg did nit taste nice. Around the coffee machine we counted 7 flies buzzing round. The till opposite cavern has an extension lead with 5 plugs in it suspended behind till. Every where was dirty carpet bits all over surfaces dirty and they hadn't started serving food yet.
