Brewers Fayre in Boston

The last time we visited this establishment was pre Covid and it hasn’t changed. Still a very nice place to eat. We had two very nice staff Kayleigh and Simon H that took care of us.Both very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back in the future !

We stayed at the adjoining hotel & did the meal deal (very good value). We booked for 7pm - they couldn't seem to find the booking but found a table for us. The restaurant was extremely busy - queues for tables, queues to order etc and we were immediately told it would be a 40min wait for food. However, we managed to order quite quickly and the food arrived in under 20 mins so we were quite happy with the service and the staff were still attentive and cleared the tables so they were really on top of what must be a difficult situation. Food was OK as we'd expect at such a chain. Could have been a disaster but all turned out well!

The front of house staff were lovely. We were staying at the Premier Inn and no complaints about the breakfast. Just such a shame that they were clearly very short of kitchen staff on both evenings - a very busy restaurant on both nights. As an example, table booked for 7pm, long queue to order at the till but order placed approx 7.30/7.40pm. We shared a starter but our main meals didn't come until almost 9pm, by which time we'd had a couple of drinks and weren't quite as hungry as we were two hours before :-( Seems to be a common problem as they already have laminated signs to put on the front of the till showing the waiting times for food. When we booked our meals it said 40mins, but by the time we were getting a second drink it was then up to 1.5hrs wait for food.... :-(

As per my company's policy I stay at Premier inn's three times a week all over the country. I also eat at the adjoining restaurants. This is the 4th time I've stayed here in the last 2 months. Nothing wrong with the accommodation but the restaurant is appalling. I need to get on the road by 07:45 at the latest each morning. The past 4 visits I've gone into the restaurant at the appointed time 07:00 and had to wait ages for the breakfast to put out on the servery. Today was the same. I asked why it was so late and was told by a lady employee (no name badge) in an accusatory manner that the chef was working until past midnight the evening before so the poor man was entitled to be late. When it eventually arrived on the servery I had to compete with a load of people who had arrived after me and then wolf it down as fast as I could before jumping in my van and going to work. For £10.99 it's terrible value for money. They say it's unlimited but no-one in their right mind would go back for more. While pacing up and down waiting this morning I took a closer look at the place. To be honest it's a dump with dirty carpets and seat pads covered in all sorts. I'm going to suggest to my accounts department that I use independent hotels from now on.

Went today with my husband. He had a mix grill and I something called Smothered Chicken (I think). There was a variety of meat on both meals and even though we had them cooked differently, it was all cooked deliciously. Service was great and friendly. Well worth a meal there. Didn’t have time for a desert but the Sundaes looked fabulous. Thank you staff.

So disappointing, an hour and a half wait for food with only a 45 min wait displayed on the tills. When food arrived it was cold and dry (like it had been sat waiting to be served). It seemed like everyone was waiting a substantial amount of time and when you consider the price it really isn’t worth the money or the wait. Such a shame as front of house staff are friendly but there isn’t enough of them. Take your money somewhere else.

Arrived and were warned of a 50min delay. Thought we could cope with that with a few drinks, but eyebrows were raised when i saw they had warning signs laminated and displayed by the till. After an hour and ten wax told it would be a further twenty mins. Waited twenty mins further and gave up. At that point the laminated sign warned of an hour and a half delay. Staff said that it wasn’t due to being short staffed in the kitchen but was due to the amount of bookings. Ive had a quite nice meal here before so i suggest going when its quiet.

Service so slow.....over 2 hour wait.... loads of people complaining and moaning about it. Food dry and tasteless, eaten better in spoons. Seen similar posts, need to employ more staff or stop taking orders if they can't cope.

Booked a table for 18.15 but arrived early as other guest mentioned how busy this gets on an evening. Ordered food on time and got drinks and noticed the '40 minute' wait sign for food. An hour later we were still waiting. Clearly short-staffed, particularly in kitchen. Food service speeded up a little after Sunday carvery finished and to be fair the food was piping hot and good quality. The sundae dessert was great too.

Delicious lunch - both main and pudding. The katsu curry was delightful and the kindler bocker glory amazing. Ade is a super host and very welcoming and professional - thank you.

Once upon a time there was a chain of restaurants that served reasonably priced food. It just about manages to still do that but clearly is struggling as it almost always has 40% off offers or two meals for under £12 or ‘kids eat free’ etc. meaning people only want to eat if there is an offer on. Toilets rarely seem to work - how can that even be allowed in a restaurant? They seem to exist by being linked to Premier Inns albeit that with their breakfast, dinner and a drink offer they are still quite expensive and unhealthy (chips, fried, etc) so I avoid Brewers if I have to stay at a Premier Inn chain which is also getting rather outdated and expensive. So whilst the staff were friendly (and a thousand times more friendly than those at my local (Bedford) branch), the fact you have to queue up to order rather than via an App makes Brewers Fayre a rather time-consuming and frustrating experience. The gents toilet was out of action (seems a common issue with BF) and the food rather average. There are much better local independent pubs in the area. Given my experience of my local one and the useless customer service department in Head Office, the Bolton branch didn’t do much to change my opinion of Whitbread outlets which is continuing its downward trend. Grotty building, grotty car park didn’t help either.

As i live locally, i have visited Burton house several times over the years, but after my most recent visit, i feel the need to express how crap the place has become. From the poor general service, filthy carpets, cold poor quality food, long waits, almost non existent bar service, to the screaming kids running about, we couldn't wait to get out of the place. We didn't expect fine dining but this hit a new low. It wasn't even that busy, with only half the tables occupied but still had to wait 40 minutes for the disappointing main to arrive. Cold stale chips, cold peas, gristly gammon, hard fried egg & tinned pineapple ring (this was ok - even they couldn't ruin that). Another 35 minute wait for the desert, i had to ask, & was told they thought we had already had it. Very attentive. Whilst waiting for the desert, i thought id get another drink from the bar. What a joke. I stood there 2nd in line but was ignored by the (trainee) bar maid who served others behind me first & seemed to have to ask another member of staff how to prepare every drink. I gave up & returned to my table, (which i forgot to mention we asked to swap earlier because of a family next to us who's kids were shouting, running about & an un-interested 'parent' who was continually coughing), expecting my pudding to have arrived. No chance, i still had to wait. I suppose we couldn't really expect much better, with the place being 'run' by staff with an average age of 10. Overall; DIABOLICAL, will not be returning & would not recommend to someone i don't even like.

The customer service received from the manager was excellent. We had our starters within 10 minutes of arriving. However our mains took an hour, due to kitchen not being informed we had finished our starters. This was not a problem but would like to say that the manager had amazing customer service and we had our meals within 10 minutes

Well cooked carvery. Friendly service. Superb veg and Yorkshire puddings. Was very full (Sunday). You need to book, otherwise you'll wait an hour to be seated for Sunday lunch.

Fantastic food brilliant experience loved every minute makes it very child friendly happy to accommodate to every need, we asked if any colouring available for child they accommodated straight away and when ordering food asked about allergies! Fantastic service from Laura

Another lovely meal at the burton but this review is to give a special mention to Tracey who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed. She had a constant smile on her face and was lovely and chatty with everyone in the restaurant and it didnt go unnoticed. A total asset to the team.

Dinner about average but prices are not cheap. On meerkat brewer fayre offer 25% but they do not accept this. So this should taken down on their app as misleading.

We went today about 16.00 had hunters chicken very small piece of chicken next to no sauce cold chips garlic bread uncooked beer very expensive will not be going back any time soon 👎👎

Well where do we start. Pre booked a boxing day meal for 1 pm. After forty five minutes and a visit to staff we received our starters . Then told to order our main course but already pre booked second catastrophe. That's in between trying to get the table cleared obviously not enough staff and chaos organisation. Sweets did come eventually. Two and a half hours later we were pleased to leave .

My brother lives in Boston an absolutely loves this place, I spent this Xmas down there an Xmas Eve morning went for breakfast at 8am it was a little early for me to be honest an I was surprised to see how many people were there already, plenty of choice for whatever kind of breakfast you wanted staff were friendly an very helpful, I'm not one for going out for Xmas Dinner however we returned the next day at 12pm we were greeted again by friendly staff, greeted with Bucks Fizz or Prosecco and seated at our table within minutes, service throughout was excellent and for £50 I thought it was excellent value, I never expect the best at Xmas in any restaurant but I really enjoyed the day an would recommend going there whenever I visit Boston from Manchester, lovely lovely staff & chef an Great value tasty food could have done with a bit of Xmas Music other than that 5 stars from me

CHRISTMAS DAY Awful all round! We waited for 40 minutes in a queue to be seated. The starters were appalling, we’ve had better pate in Lidl. A blob of sweet onion chutney and a soggy slice of toast. We asked for some butter and got told NO. Carvery was stodgy and stingy. Mean with the meat and the beef was overcooked. ONE pig with no blanket! Watery gravy. One sundae, trifle flavour was ok. No wafer or sprinkles. The other, blackforrest, was tastless with no evidence of black cherries. Waited over 30 mins for pudding. Shocking price of OVER £50 each plus drinks. Very poor value. Not at all Christmassy - hardly any decorations. We go here quite a lot and will be taking our complaint further. The Staff try, but this was overbooked today, ruined our Christmas Day.

Went in for a family meal, staff very friendly and attentive to use, loved the festive decorations and music definitely be going back we had a wonderful time there

Food ok but very disappointed at no Christmas decorations apart from small tree at entrance. Surely a few pieces draped over the pictures is not a lot to ask. So no Christmas atmosphere at all, very poor show, very miserable the week before Christmas..

The Pub definitely relies on the Premier Inn next door for trade as I we cant imagine anyone actually wanting to go here freely. Never seen such shambolic staff! Arrived in the afternoon and wanted to sit near TV to watch the Rugby. The only table free was filthy with plates with half eaten food on and mugs and glasses on it. We ordered drinks at the bar and asked the barman if he could get the table cleared 'yes no problem'. 10 minutes later still not cleared. I asked again and was told 'were busy we'll get to it'. He told a member of staff again to clear it. 20 minutes later still not cleared....so I did it myself as we wanted to order meals! Half an hour and the barman turned up to clean our table....I explained the I'd had to do it myself....he just grunted and went. The next table overheard we were ordering food and said theirs took over an hour to come and it was cold....so reluctantly we ordered. And yes...long delivery and cold and pretty poor quality tbf. Our evening meal wasn't much better. One of our reviewers complained as his was cold, but the staff just didnt seem at all interested. Next morning we hoped breakfast wouldn't be as bad as it was a straight forward 'buffet'. We were in the toast queue when a woman member of staff pushed by us to refill the 'bread baskets' by hand...this concerned us as we'd just seen her in a cupboard putting sugar, butter, knapkins etc out and wiping the sides down with a mucky cloth at the breakfast bar/coffee bar.....without washing her hands inbetween time! Then she's handling bread that's going in peoples mouths, Disgusting! Breakfast was the best meal we had, even though a lot of stuff had gone and we had to wait in the queue waiting for the buffet to be refilled. Then to top it off the coffee machine broke and poured steam out everywhere. Overall pretty dire....Not a place we'd recommend. Wheelchair access is a bit tricky, and if your on a mobility scooter youve no chance. 4/10...and only because the beer was cheap 🚩Location 10/10 🚻Staff Performance 1/10 🌐Wifi 3/10 (kept dropping out) 🚮Cleanliness 6/10 ♿️Disabled Access 5/10 ⚠️Negatives- Staff useless and unhygienic. Disabled Access tricky to negotiate. No Wifi connects to Premier Inn and dropped out regularly.

We had a really lovely Christmas lunch with a large group of friends (around 20 of us). The restaurant was very busy with other customers too. Tables were all decorated with seasonal ware, including crackers. Our food was delivered with care, ours was delicious and hot. Staff were very pleasant, helpful and made sure you had everything you needed to make your stay enjoyable. Our waitress Leanne was excellent, and went the extra mile for us, even though our party was quite a large one, she managed it with ease, good organisation, and professionalism. We will definately be returning, thankyou.

Staff great, Manager runs around like headless chicken, food good but was luke warm which totally ruined it for us. . Very short staffed by the look of it. No radiators switched on so the place was really cold at 4pm and people were keeping their coats on including us!! (totally unacceptable and a bit of a pee take). The wife switched two radiators on around the restaurant, which then started to heat up nicely. Are you trying to save money by keeping the radiators off Brewers Fayre? Never asked for feedback about the meal by any member of staff. Its no surprise, Brewers Fayre are giving away heavily discounted meal vouchers. Is this to keep the place a float? We are new to the area and I have to say this is our first and LAST visit. We wont be back.

we called in to have lunch before paying a visit to the hospital. we were quite surprised by how busy the place was but found a table and took a look at the menu. after checking it out we decided on the festive menu and chose a 2 course meal for £14.99. we both chose the turkey and all the trimmings and we waited for about 25 mins and weren't expecting anything special but boy were we shocked.......the meal that was put before us was huge and the quality was superb, the turkey was succulent and the veggies (roast pots, roast carrots, roast parsnips, swede & carrot, peas and brussel sprouts) were excellent, there was also pigs in blankets, gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce. this was definitely a full lunch and we were glad we hadn't really had much for breakfast. we had also chosen to have deserts with myself having the after eight mint sundae and my husband having the sherry trifle sundae, again we expecting small pre-maid ice-creams but the large sundaes we received were individually made and excellent. the atmosphere at the restaurant was excellent and the service was very impressive and we will definitely be making another visit in the near future.

Jordan was excellent great service, very quick and efficient. Jordan was a massive help whatever I asked for he went out of his way to help. The food was amazing steak was well cooked.

For the first time ever rather disappointed today. We booked a table for 4pm. First of all when we placed the order the staff member misheard and only ordered one instead of two, so had to wait for another portion to be cooked. We decided on the carvery, but the choice was very limited. They had run out of two of the three choices of meat, and the only vegetables left were mainly potato. I have to state this was nobody's fault, they had been exceptionally busy today, much busier than anticioated and the staff were all so very apologetic. For the staff and their understanding and support I would give 5 stars. Especially for Stacey the General Manager who we feel had been more than fair. Well done Stacey and Staff on dealing with a difficult day.

We had friends come down and thought we'd go for a nice meal, however although the food was cooked properly by the time we received it it was cold, this is totally unacceptable when dining out. All the staff could offer was that they had been busy we feel very let down and won't be returning for food again.

We stopped en-route to the coast at about 3 o’clock in the afternoon to break the journey. Food ordered from the 2 for £11-49 menu arrived promptly served by a very polite waiter. The meals were hot and tasty and well worth the money. As the driver I opted for a cappuccino to drink, duly dispensed by machine, however I found this to be quite weak. Thinking about it I suppose I should’ve added a shot of espresso. If we happened to be passing again and wanted to eat we would def stop again

What a fabulous pub! The staff were absolutely great. Really helpful , pleasant and engaging. The food was also brilliant. Good size portions fresh from the kitchen and piping hot. The menu is varied and good quality and the drink offering is also broad. But what stands out is the attitude of the staff. It’s really refreshing to visit a pub where all the staff are so helpful and clearly want to do a good job. I would recommend this place to you if you’re ever in the Boston area. It’s well worth a visit.

Staff are very friendly, can't do enough for you. Went for lunch with friends 2 for £10 on cocktails too, bonus. Excellent value for 2 meals at 11.49. Would definitely recommend, all round cheap and cheerful.

Friendly staff. But food was absolutely horrible the manager seemed to have the hump when I pointed out the chips wasn’t fresh and tasted more like rubber for the price I’d expect fresh chips the burger was ok not the best my person opinion is that the food here is not worth the price they are charging

Booked in advance a table for 2 for 5.30 pm.Ordered starters & a main course,got our drinks fairly quickly,a good sign.Starters we waited an hour for,in fact they brought the main Course before the starters. Mains were sent back,starters were another 15 minutes.My starter was burnt, husbands tasteless.When the main Course eventually came we were just so tired we couldn't face it.As a consolation we were offered a free sweet to take to our room.We declined.I am diabetic & was ill that night through having to wait so long to be served.The staff especially Amy did all she could to help but the problem lays solely with the chef & kitchen staff.They said the starter had been forgotten,do I believe them no I don't.I should be given a refund for the way we were treated.I will be writing to head office to make my feelings known & ask for a refund.
