Four Crossroads Inn in Boston

I went to the Four Crossroads with my wife, after my dad had recommended them. My dad has had multiple visits and told me about their steak night (Thursdays) and how nice the place is, and he was not wrong! The atmosphere is pleasant and they have made great use of the space available for seating/dining. The staff we spoke to during our visit were friendly, polite and happy. I ordered a steak which was cooked beautifully and I have to say, their peppercorn sauce is amazing! Possibly the best I have had in a very long time! It was mine and my wifes first visit but it will definitely not be our last! (Especially after hearing how good the carvery is!) 100% recommend.

I have been to this restaurant with my husband. It was a Sunday. We had roast turkey and chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables, roasted parsnips, etc.( like a full r oast dinner with everything). It was delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Next to our table were two ladies and two young girls, they were loud whilst talking,too loud for a restaurant conversation. They weren't locals. This is why I gave 4 stars for the atmosphere rating. Overall, all was good, and we enjoyed our meal. It was our first time there, and it was full with customers. Is best to pre- book before you go in on Sundays. 🥰🥰🥰

We booked a table of 9 for a carvery. And with hand on heart it was awesome. Everything was spot on. 10 out of 10. We as a large family will definitely be going back.

all can say excellent food i went on a tuesday the gammon was so juicy in melted in my mouth👌and great service then i went back on wednesday night they did a carvery. omg there was everything and the meats look amazing and they tasted beautiful i was stuffed when i’m back in this area again i will be back 🤩🤩

We've been here a couple of times recently for the carvery on a Sunday evening; firstly as a party of 4, and then a party of 2. Service is quick, we were shown to our seats and then told a few minutes later that we were able to go upto the carvery. There's a choice of 2 or more meats (different prices), and lots of vegetables and sauces etc. We enjoyed the food here both times, and the staff were polite. Worth a visit!

1st time at four crossroads inn tonight carvery was delicious all fresh vegetables massive Yorkshire pudding beautifully cooked pork and beef my daughter had the four crossroads double beef burger with chunky chips cooked to perfection toilets were spotless well done four crossroads inn will definitely be back soon 😊

Table booked for 7pm, and on arrival ushered to table would have preferred to have got seated and comfortable before being asked to order drinks, but waitress seemed enthusiastic so ordered drinks and they came promptly. Ordered a couple of steaks at 7.10pm did'nt order a starter, I don't know how long the couple at the next table had been but they had ordered before we sat down. Waited 50mins for steak and chips our meals came and had to ask for steak knives and for the pepper and mushroom sauces we had ordered, the couple next to us were still waiting! My steak was cooked as I asked and was fine, the chips advertised as home cooked chips were large but frozen chips, but not hand cut chips. My partners steak was very chewy and she left about a third (our dog ate it later but he has big teeth), at no point were we asked if we wanted any more drinks and we were not asked if we would like desserts. So we got up and paid the bill, we did point out regarding drinks and desserts, the waitress said sorry but we are busy, cure for that "get more staff!" Drinks here are very expensive £5.45 for a pint of Doom Bar and £7 glass of wine these are city centre prices.

Well what can I say yet another delicious Sunday carvery. Thoroughly enjoyed by us all. Never disappoints, even more impressive was that we had 2 picky eaters and they accommodated them when they didn’t have to. This was very much appreciated. Once again thank you and a big 10-10 xx in the words of Arnie “we will be back”

4 of us visited in November (sorry for late review). The choice and quality of the meat was just fab. There was plenty of veg as well. The only reason I’ve taken it down to 4 dots instead of 5, is that it’s rather cramped. That said, the food more than makes up for it. Well done to all there. Will we return? Next time we have a big appetite.

If I could have given it 0 Stairs I would have! We went here last night after driving for 5 hours to visit family. When we arrived the staff were friendly but didn’t know what they were doing. We were sat at a table which was dirty so that was a great start. Once we ordered drinks we decided on what we wanted from the menu. My husband is gluten free and was happy he could have the Indian buffet and myself and our son went for the beef burger. My husband didn’t want to get his food until ours arrived. Well after waiting 1 hour and 40 mins our shared starter of halloumi came. Now it was hot and looked good but we were so hungry at this point it was gone within seconds. After another 15 mins we asked where our mains were and the staff didn’t know. Unfortunately asking any member of staff a question was met with ‘I don’t know, I will have to ask Someone else’ after nearly a two hour wait which we were not told there was a delay in the kitchen we got our burgers. I then cut them open to find they were both raw in the middle. My son is 8 and I am 33 weeks pregnant! If we were told they were served like this we would have requested ‘well done’ at this point my husband wasn’t happy at all. He went to speak to someone to be met with a member of staff who treated him like a child. They gave us the bill and expected us to pay for both burgers which had been taken away and an Indian buffet that my husband hadn’t even had yet! They then went on about temperature control on the burgers stating they were 65 degrees, if that were the case they would not have looked like they were about to go out to the field and start mooing. My husband has been a catering manager for the better part of 20 years. He knows all about temperature control and every aspect of the kitchen. The information they had did not match up and they didn’t even have the paperwork to proof it! You don’t serve raw meat to anyone let alone a child and a pregnant woman! The lady behind the bar phoned the owner and video timed him to show the burgers and began to argue with my husband stating temperatures and how food should be cooked, he was with them for 10 minutes discussing the food. They handed him a bill and demanded he paid for it for the full amount, to save hassle In the end he said he will pay for our drinks and the starter which we were more then happy to do as we had drunk the drinks and had the starter. The staff need more training and taught how to deal with service better! We were very disappointed and will never be coming back.

Went in as fancied steak while away on business the starter was enjoyable (battered mushrooms) the main i had ribeye which was cooked to perfection but i found a few parts a little tough but all in all enjoyed my time there and would return..

We booked for a family carvery. The online booking system is user-friendly and included a useful reminder via email. We received a friendly, warm welcome, and the carvey was fresh, with a good selection of meats, all cooked very well. I would highly recommend

Went for a Christmas meal, all booked and pre-ordered about a month ago. Supposed to start at 8pm. Didn't get anything until about 8.45. Main courses didn't come out until 9.20! Awful service. Won't be going back.

Absolutely first class A first rate pint of Tim Taylors my Hunters chicken was as good as you can get and it was certainly a big piece of chicken as well and very tasty indeed The desert was also something to savour especially my daughters ice cream sunday which I didn't think she would be able to finish The service was also top notch you couldn't find fault with anything and the value for money excellent I have paid a lot more locally for a lot less

Family meal.. I had lasagne, to call it bland would be complimentary. Daughter had fish, chips and beans. Finally arrived but with peas, went back to kitchen, came back with the same fish, and it was overcooked. Drinks orders were as bad. I ordered the same drinks 3 times, they got it right once. Came to pay, asked to move around the counter, no problem. But.. Same person then desided to take drink order and payment from someone who we moved round for... Girls serving did a cracking job, but other than that I'd swerve it.

Fantastic food no matter which day you choose to visit, beautifully cooked and presented. Friendly efficient welcoming staff. Log fire snug too. Thursday Steak night, unbelievably great mouthwatering tender steaks, great price too!! T bone and Tomahawk!!!! Friday brilliant Curry night buffet, superb choice and quality, all u can eat!! Topped off with the Piece De resistance of the Sunday Carvery!!! Choice of meats including Lamb!! and more beautifully cooked veg than you can think of?!! My new favourite place to eat...... You will not be disappointed Great food, great price, great welcome I highly recommend....... And no I didn't get a free meal for my review as someone suggested!!

We visited the Four Cross Roads Inn with family visitors during the week in December 2024. We have been before a couple of times and again the food was excellent. We had the Wednesday carvery (I opted for the King size) truly is a King size meal. Plenty on offer with four different meats and all the vegetables you could want for, dessert for me was apple crumble and custard, it was excellent and the perfect top off to the meal. Our guests are from Merseyside area and have eaten in many places and said it was the best carvery they had been to. A high accolade from them. Thanks once again. We will be back. ☆☆☆☆☆

Yet again such a lovely Sunday dinner, the meat was delicious and a brilliant selection of vegetables with 3 types of potato’s, THE BEST IN TOWN. Such a nice clean pub with friendly staff. It was very busy which is great to see but did not effect the food or service, See you again soon.

It was my first visit in Boston and the pub. I just loved the entire experience! Cosy, very home like atmosphere and the fireplace made the job. The food is OUTSTANDING. If you want to experience genuine Indian cusines, the Friday buffet is perfect for that. Im a demanding client so not easy to please. I can tell the steak was one of the best I've ever tried! Highly recommend the place and just regret we don't have much of this quality food in London. Will be back😊 thank you!

Friday - Indian Buffet. It has to be said, best Indian food in Boston! The staff are lovely and very attentive, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the Indian buffet is fresh, copious and absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend, I will say it again Best in Boston!

We have been twice lately once for the Sunday carvery and again for the midweek carvery.The food was spot on and the staff were all very professional. I have no qualms about recommending anyone who likes good food to try this establishment . Outstanding food and Service. I must comment on Lisa H's poor review, I was looking to see if she/they would complain on here, they were making a scene to clearly get a discount! Foul mouthed individual, with one intention and thatwas trying to get a discount, pathetic! There's always one and unfortunately, they were being watched and here I am! Please ignor her rant, they had an agenda and were embarressing to say the least! They sounded, acted and clearly people you don't want to sit and have your dinner with. It's a lovely venue and great food!

The best carvery ! Everything cooked amazingly .great servers and chefs are top notch ! Definitely goin back again and will become a regular place even though we come from Nottingham! Worth the journey though that's for sure! Keep up the good work x

We tried a couple of different nights , Steak night and a Indian buffet. The food both nights were really good, steak cooked perfectly as to how we liked it, the buffet had plenty to choose from, starter and main course.staff were very polite and helpful, advised us on how the buffet worked, service was excellent both times.We will certainly be back again.😋

Avoid ! If you have a quality palet .Called in on a Sunday £15 for the carvery and it was an aweful experience the food was just cheap tasteless the meat was tasteless it was a bad experience all round dirty cheap smelly and the management was unprofessional and rude everything about this place says poor quality they want your money with zero effort from the establishment place is run down dirty and l would never ever go back there again we paid and left quickly after some abuse from the so called scruffy looking management who could not handle some home truths about his lack of experience in the food industry

What a dirty hole the food is of Very cheap produce with no taste and basically cooked terribly the Sunday carvery was disgusting l wouldn't feed it to my dogs l would never eat here again l dread the state of the kitchen if the toilets are anything to go buy the smell was disgusting 🫣 they charge alot for the quality you get. its appalling go to mc donald's and you would get better service and better food

Save your money ... Rude landlord ... Food is very very bad .. cheap products.. lack of understanding what a Sunday dinner is .. avoid this filthy hole ... There's so many better places to eat ... Don't even look in the kitchen

I'll start with Steak night as its earliest in the week. I called in the morning and managed to order a tomahawk steak! It was perfectly cooked and just so much food! My wife and son opted for the ribeye, their food was also cooked to perfection, you can tell the steak is cooked on coals 🤤 The curry nights on Fridays are great. The flavours are a lot different for your average curry house and all you can eat. I've been twice and can't manage to finish a 3rd plate... but I feel like this is a challenge 😂 Saving the best till last. The Sunday carvery is the best I've ever had! The servings are huge! The meat is always well cooked, especially the beef 😋 🤤 the veg is always great. Our friends are vegetarian and we're impressed thst with their vegi option they also got vegi gravy. My only complaint would be that there's never room for dessert 😂

Previously have been numerous times & eaten & it was lovely . However last Sunday .frozen roast potatoes.instant Mash & hard tough veg .1 member of our group didn't eat their lunch . We raised a complaint & emailed but had no reply as yet . We won't be back

Our first time trying the indian buffet tonight and we were not disappointed. A great selection of authentic indina food, including something different to try - liver masala, which was very nice. I have had to edit this review as I can't leave another, for some reason, after trying several times. Some weeks ago we came in for our regular carvery and ordered 2 diet cokes. It was busy, so we decided to join the queue for our carvery before our drinks arrived. We were stood right by the bar when, I assumed, our drinks were being poured. The glasses were 3/4 full and as our server walked past us I stopped him to ask if they were ours. Once he had confirmed they were, I asked him to take them back and ask to fill the glass please. I intended on speaking to the girl behind the bar, until I saw her reaction. Staff need to be reminded that customers queue right in front of the bar!! She said, "what!! That's a standard pour, what are they talking about!" Then the owners wife/partner/pub manager appeared and wanted to know what was wrong. She spoke to our server who told her we wanted our glasses filled. She said, "tell them that is how the drinks come!" Looked at the girl behind the bar and said, "just do it!" Then as the server walked away said, "tell them next time that is how drink is." All very aggressive. After we paid our bill, as there is no price list, we worked out that our drinks were just shy of £5 each!! And you want to serve a glass 3/4 full?? The food was great but what we experienced that day has left a bad taste! We have yet to return.

My first time at the Friday evening Indian Buffet. It was very enjoyable, quite a good selection of starters, rice's and main dishes.

Nice family atmosphere, good service and super friendly. We have tried a few things on the menu now and they are all good but particularly enjoyed the Indian taster platter (enough for two), the fish and chips, ham egg and chips, pie of the day and tonight we tried the carvery and what a treat! Looking forward to sampling the Indian Buffet when we get a free Friday.

Once again we visited this nice rural gastro/pub the first time we were here was just after covid and the current owners had just taken over from a somewhat rundown and drab pub. We had steak that night and spent a long time chatting to the new owner The meal we had was amazing and we were the only folks eating there that night. Moving forward some months and we went for sunday dinner. The owner remembered us and spent time chatting with us before we ate. It was a glorious sunday dinner with a choice of four roasts. This time the pub as fairly busy. Move forward a couple of years and we had to book for sunday roast the food was the same high quality as we had on our previous vist only this time there was a choice of five different roasts again the owner remembered us and took time out to greet us. The food was out of this world and the beer was pretty good too. The place was buzzing and the car park full. He had transformed this dilapidated pub in the middle of nowhere to and amazing and thriving hub for the community. He has invested not just money but time and a lot of effort which has paid off in dividends. It is a family run concern with all the family chipping in Cooking/serving/waiting/cleaning combined with a great work ethic and quality ingredients a true 5 star Gastro Pub Thank you we will be coming back in the near future

Had an amazing lunch here today, we love eating here as its a lovely hidden gem for great fresh cooked food and lovely and friendly staff that make you feel welcome and are always there to attend to us. Family event went for Sunday lunch. Very busy, but service was good by friendly staff. We had the carvery which an array of both meats and vegetables which were well cooked and with a variety of plate sizes, the meal was very satisfying. Would recommend.

LOVELY. Best carvery I've had in a long time. Really generous portions. The meat cooked to perfection and amazing parsnips. Couldn't fault it. Staff all very welcoming, will definitely return.

First time visiting this place and was impressed. We just popped in without booking and the super friendly owner said no problem and squeezed us in. We firstly went to the pub do the road and the staff were rubbish and the food looked all dry looking and we had to wait ages for anyone to serve us and we walked away and decided to go and try our look at the four crossroads and it was the best decision, Had a carvery which was delicious. We had the king size carvery (which was massive) the chef carved the meet onto an extra large plate which seemed like it could have fed 3 people The vegetables were beautifully cooked. The place was clean and the staff were very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us, Looking forward to visiting again.

Amazing pub/restaurant. Great atmosphere and lovely waitresses. Service was a bit slow but there were only two working. The food was brilliant, nice crunchy chips. Shame there were not more vegetarian options. Would still visit again.

Had a wonderful lunch with friends, all had carvery. 1 veg carvery was give 3 veg sausages. The lay out for the meal was great, every thing freshly cooked. The meat melted in your month, chicken, beef, a little pink for me. But the ham was amazing, everyone had a fantastic time. Would love to know their butchers

Came across this quite by chance, so pleased we did. Friday night Indian buffet really excellent, good variety and authentic, cooked by an Indian chef One of the best buffets we have had. Staff extremely friendly and attentive.

Only one bottle of vinegar for the whole venue and no vanilla ice cream

This was our first visit to this Inn for a carvery.The staff were very friendly and the meat selection was good and looked and taste nice the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is the cauliflower and broccoli was under cooked .They also have a curry and steak nights which we intend to try.

Looked at places for a carvery as we were staying at Appletree. Good reviews so got us booked in for a family of 7. The food looked delicious however was very bland and only luke warm. We asked if my husband could have a child one as he has stomach and swallowing issues !! They said no !!! We paid for a regular and he only ate a bit of beef, 1 roast potato and one new potato… not very accommodating or friendly at all…wish i had called before and asked … as we wouldn’t have booked. Lesson learned…£97 down the drain

One of the best steaks I've ever tasted. Melt in the mouth. Lasagne was excellent. Recommend the apple crumble. Staff were lovely. Wine was good and generous. Really impressed. Well worth the money.
