First time at this venue,will not be the last. Amazing carvery beautifully cooked,generous portion of meat fantastic array of veg. Comfortable,cosy atmosphere ,really lovely staff

The food was brilliant. It was all home cooked, chips made from real potatoes, not frozen rubbish. We had the home made soup which was lovely and the deep fried brie for starters, again really nice. My partner had the steak and ale pie absolutely full of steak I had scampi. The meals were really well presented, freshly prepared and cooked using quality produce. Nice ambience and friendly but not in your face service. I see people have said its more expensive than some pubs. It's not, it's very reasonable for the quality of the food that is served. Coming from an area where the only pubs are chains like Wetherspoons and Greene King, this venue knocks the spots of them and only a little bit more expensive, no boil in the bag or microwave dinners served here. There is a great choice on the menu, the tables are well spaced out, I noticed that they have a children's menu. We were in a hurry and didn't have time or room for dessert but could happily have stayed longer, it is such a comfortable atmosphere. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Excellent evening meal. varied menu, many vegetarian dishes. very accommodating , friendly staff who stayed open for us.

Our 4th visit to The Bricklayers, but our 1st for Sunday Lunch. We were not disappointed - a beautifully cooked wide range of vegetables and a hearty portion of the meat/s of your choice. A great place that consistently delivers great food along with friendly and efficient service. A must visit if you are nearby.

I don't usually write reviews however sadly after today my family left here feeling rather angered. Me, my husband and our baby came here for the first time to meet some family at 12pm however we ended up being late due to traffic.. (my family got there at 12pm and we ended getting there at 12.30. When we arrived, we went to go walk round the back to the beer garden as that's where our family were, to be shouted at from the front entrance telling us to go through the front and very rudely told us to "go leave the baby outside and go get our food" as they were stopping the carvery soon. Prior to us arriving the staff member kept hassling my mum as to when we'd be arriving, telling her to go get their food rather than waiting for us. when my mum told her we were in the car park getting the baby out, she rudely said there's no one in the car park with a baby! As if questioning her if she was telling the truth or not.. to be then told by another member of staff that we were in fact in the car park. I'm not sure of the name however she is tall, looks about mid 40s maybe, with shortish blond hair (not the young kind staff member with blond hair who was very lovely to us throughout this). Whoever this staff member is needs to improve her customer service skills/professionalism. We will not be coming back unfortunately due to her rudeness. The rest of the staff were all very lovely though.

Visited recently for Sunday Carvery a group of four adults an excellent surprise 10 minutes drive from the centre of Boston and fresh food big portions friendly staff especially the proprietor. Loads of parking I will be coming back.

back again, after our visit in May, for another Birthday Treat, and once again did not disappoint, the food is exceptionally good, as are the owner and staff, a lovley warm and welcoming atmosphere, thank you😊

A bit out of the way and a little more expensive than your regular country pub/ restaurant. However the food and drinks could not be faulted, they do a huge mixed grill which I wouldn't even attempt, but the home made steak pie was chock full of steak, no fillers and gorgeous pastry. Somewhere to go for a special treat

We walked in at 8.44 to be told that the bar was shut in a very rude manner.we had gone away for our honeymoon, to have a couple of quiet drinks at the pub that we were told was worth a visit. To be told that they were closed @8.44. Website says closed at 10. Apparently we didn’t look the part, as there was an up and down look to my husband and decided that we was not welcome. Will never be going back to this place nor will it ever be rated by myself my husband and my family. Joke. We drove for a few minutes and found the gem of a pub called The White Heart around the corner and was the best pub we could have wanted. Made to fell welcome and left with some very good friends. The bricklayers is never a place we would go back to our take our family !!!!!!!

As support workers we visited with our client 'M'. Staff were brilliant and very helpful. 'M ' was made to feel very welcome. He enjoyed the experience so much that he wanted to have his evening meal there for the rest of his stay in the area. Brilliant service and fantastic food. Thank you so much for making 'M's' holiday really special.

Fantastic venue for food, highly recommend this pub

Very disappointed with meals my husband had chicken tikka masala it looked like reheated chicken in a funny looking thin gravy! I had a meat lasagna which was tasteless ate less than half. Waitress didn’t make the usual stop to check if everything was alright! We also found the tables very close together and quite dark. Also had to clean tops of cruet! It was our third and last visit.

Stopped here after lincolnshire wildlife park with our 3 young children for something to eat. Food is absolutely beautiful, we had the 10oz gammon which was huge and very filling, lasagne and chips with salad - chips beautiful, lasagne was lovely too. Kids chicken nuggets were proper chicken breast and kids sausage very nice. Has a kids play area too (swings and slide) and lovely garden which they enjoyed. Overall thoroughly enjoyed it here, thank you very much! Will definitely be back when we next visit lincolnshire 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Eleven of us had an absolutely excellent meal here last weekend, most of us had something different but all meals arrived in quick succession, hot and delicious. Puds were great too! Service was spot-on, with a good car park, would definitely revisit if in the area.

We had are dog with us made very welcome meals where piping hot and quick service would recommend to any one the lady servicing was excellent and made us very welcome with are dog

If you have not been here yet you definitely need to give it a try, they will not disappoint, staff are friendly,helpful and accommodating, compliments to the chef too,top notch food, 5 stars well deserved

We went twice on our break. Great bears too.

Really disappointing. Thai green curry - lumps of precooked chicken warmed through in a greenish generic sauce. Served with reheated rice. At £16.95. On the good side my son said his chips were fine, and when I came for Sunday lunch it was great home cooked food, so why don’t they only offer what they can cook.

Very disappointed with the customer service of this pub after booking a table for dinner for six people to celebrate a very special occasion we arrived to be told that our booking could not go ahead as she couldn’t serve us I explained that I had phoned and booked she told me no it’s for Tuesday without even looking in the reservation book it It all seemed very suspicious and rehearsed I said that we didn’t Mind coming to the bar to get drinks but she said there was no way she was able to serve us. I asked her if she was turning us away her reply was “yes” . Myself and my family found a beautiful little pub a few miles down the road called the “barley mow” we the most amazing food and service !

We placed our drink order at the bar, then the chef told the lady who was serving us to come and serve food in the restaurant so she left us standing there and said she would be back in a few minute's after 10 minutes we walked out, very rude treatment and we won't be back.

I had a good meal at the Bricklayers arms and would recommend the food.

Called in on my travels for some food,ended up having their mixed grill, probably best mixed grill I've ever had,finished the lot! Top grub and service

Impromptu visit tonight and once again it was brilliant. The service was so good and the lady that served us was so polite and happy and genuinely brilliant. The food as always was so good, packed with flavour and very tasty. The portion sizes are so so good also. Sitting outside was also nice in this weather. Genuinely a fantastic pub

Sunday carvery choice of pork, turkey, beef , gammon meats were on ! Great selection of vegetables & potatoes. Excellent food. Lovely staff. WILL BE RETURNING SOON . 👌

We had an outstanding Sunday meal here at their carvery! Great value and good quality (recommend the honey mustard gammon). Staff were all very friendly and luckily we could bring our dog along. Can't wait to go back!

Mundane exterior, belies the lovely interior. Really nice food and staff. Love the toilet paper in the gents.

We have been eating here Most Sundays since February 2024. The Sunday Carvery's are fantastic. Everything is fresh, Good choice of meats, (Try the topside) Staff are always polite. Would advise to book.

Just had a fantastic meal, well cooked, fresh produce. Portions to fill any appetite. Great setting, really lovely inside with very nice beer garden. Highly recommended.

We were staying in the area, so we booked a table one evening.. as it was Monday the pub was quiet. Service was great , the food was fantastic, and the cider was nice...we enjoyed that much we will go again Thursday. Ps very dog friendly... Yes we returned (with2 friends) Ex landlord and lady.. Food and service was fantastic again.... All 4 had a great time, thanks you, its a pity we live in Cheshire...

Stopped twice this week for food whilst in the area on my Honeymoon. Both times the food has been amazing staff are great i highly recommend the Stilton and mushroom burger best burger I've had in ages

Fourth visit for Sunday lunch ....as always excellent choices at the carvery...with every vegetable you can think of ..and good vegetarian options available too.

Absolutely superb table service. Polite, friendly and knowledgeable, genuinely couldn't ask for more. Lovely outside dining area, with small playground (including swings) for the young ones. Prices for food and ale both very reasonable. In addition, the WC facilities were outstanding. Very clean 👌

Another lovely visit 19/5/24 for a quick pit stop carvery after visiting the Woodhall Spa show then 3 hour drive home….thanks for another lovely meal. What a lovely pub and restaurant. Fabulous carvery on Sunday and lovely varied menu through the week. Freshly cooked and very enjoyable. When I’m in the area love to visit here. 5 star Dog friendly too couldn’t ask for more 🥰🐕‍🦺

A fabulous meal with some family over from China - one who had never been in England before and wanted to try fish and chips. The staff were lovely and very accommodating- allowing us time for multiple translations and a lot of jollity. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and the visting family were suitable impressed - as were we. Thank you to the Bricklayers Arms.

Never judge a book by its cover, we booked here whilst staying in the area on a recommendation at the Holiday accommodation. When we pulled up we weren't really sure what to expect, it's on a busy road and looks a little tired, but we had booked so out of the car we got . Wow I'm so glad we did, we were met with a warm welcome and the inside was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were shown to a couple of tables to choose from. Drinks were bought to us quickly and menus, such a good choice. The food was absolutely to die for. The meat was so lean and well cooked. The waitress super attentive without being over the top. We ended up having 3 courses it was all so good. I cannot recommend this place enough and will certainly return when staying in the area again.

Shocking lack of knowledge about their menu, they have vegan food which contains milk!!!!

Nice atmospheric pub, a little tired from the outside, until you enter this charming space. The meal portions maybe too big, as just couldn't manage a sweet. Great service ! Recommended.

Great food, waitress are lovely and polite. Always had excellent service in there until tonight. I am a local which took me and my wife with 2 teenagers and a 1 half year old. Pub says family friendly if they don't want a Littleone running around then they need to put family's in another room. Wasn't waitress was a guy in flowery shirt. Now as explained he asked for her to sit down so she not running around whilst everyone else is eating. There was two family us and a elderly couple. If it was packed I would of understood it wasn't. Since I have lived here that is my go to place for food but after that I think I will give it a miss for a while. If the bloke could understand you try and keep a Littleone entertained especially when there park area is shut off. Thank you so much to waitress for making it such a comfortable visit but shame it was ruined don't like littleones change the pub to not family friendly, or make family's sit in another room then you won't have a issue. Sorry but when I pay 100 quid for family of 5 we should be able to enjoy our time there aswell. Just update: the review my child was not running around alone my 15 year old was with her making sure she was not doing anything that would cause issues or damage. I am also taking this to bateman's direct aswell. I did not want a confrontation with landlord or manager so I just left instantly. No wonder it's empty with no families so sad.

Service very friendly, generous portions on all dishes. We both had creamy garlic mushrooms to start and they were delicious I could have drunk a gallon of the tasty sauce. My wife had a 3 cheese pasta bake with chips which was very tasty and enormous. I had cod and chips which was beautifully cooked, hearty and delicious. We will return here next time we are down and look forward to sampling other items from the menu then - we couldn’t manage a pudding today as we were too full

Food smelt good but couldn't stop, delivering fuel ,but maybe back .....

Fantastic meal here with my wife and 3 children. Food was delicious, waitress was friendly and helpful and the pub had an authentic feel to it. We are not from the area and could not believe how reasonable the prices were here! Would definitely return if ever visiting the area again.

Stopped off for lunch, we hadn’t been for a while. As before, a warm welcome and lovely food. A large cod and ham and eggs (perfectly cooked) were gratefully received. Chips are fab. This place is also immaculately clean. Will be back soon!

Excellent welcome Brilliant service and food

Fantastic food and service. As someone mentioned earlier, Bateman’s XB is served much too cold for beer. As cold as that, which is ok for lager, kills the flavour but probably put through a snake with all the other drinks. Was perfect on our previous visits.

Fantastic meal, prompt service and a warm atmosphere. Having just moved to the area we were able to book a table at short notice. Greeted by friendly staff and the food was delicious. Large portions at reasonable prices. Will be returning!

Staff were friendly. We were a large group for a meal. All meals were pre ordered over a week in advance. On arrival we were informed the mixed grill had gone up in price, when questioned we were told we had received the wrong menu, but we had got it off the menu on line which we had been told to use, and still the price was still the same on line when checked, a small increase ok, but £11 is crazy. Some of the desserts that were preordered they didn't have, but weren't told until other desserts were ordered on the night

Hopefully just a bad night at the Bricklayers. Been here 3 times now in past 18mth whilst staying locally on a midweek break with family. Both times before the meals were excellent and reasonable priced for good food however this week there seemed to be limited menu available as asked for a couple of things but told they had run out. Son settled on a 10 oz steak but to to be honest 4oz of it was gristle! I had steak and ale pie but more like a starter portion. Wife's ok but nothing to write about. All in all a disappointing experience this time especially as prices ( I do understand current inflation situation) have gone up 20%+ from the website menu!! But the quality is well above 20% worse. Will be over there later on in the year so hopefully some positive reviews and apologies might sway us to try again.

We visited on the Friday morning as we were leaving a near by site after holidaying. The breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic. We were really stunned about the value versus quality. Absolutely fantastic meal. The service was attentive but not overpowering. Our 3 year old son wasn’t hungry so we were not charged despite having taken items from the buffet for him. The hosts didn’t need to do that and it was incredibly kind of them. We will be revisiting every time we go on our holidays. What a perfect little place for breakfast. I can’t wait to have an afternoon meal here, too!

A meet up with work colleagues for a midweek meal, so we chose to visit the bricklayers. From start to finish the staff were friendly and polite and nothing was to much trouble, we preordered our food so we did not have to wait to long for it to arrive, and when it did we were all very pleased with the choices we had made, good sized portions, piping hot and very tasty. I personally will return even though its a 40 minute drive from my home.

Found this little gem by accident on way home from holiday, they do the most wonderful buffet breakfast everything you could for the Danish pastry were to die for the cooked breakfast was delicious good quality ingredients the staff cannot do enough for you if your passing you must try. The only downside it's to far for us to visit.

Friendly welcome as we brought in our excited young old English sheepdog. Food choice was great. Food was great, all came away overfull. Elements of the food were exceptional, the rest just good. Really liked this place and it's so nice to come with a dog and have it welcomed, not rejected or barely tolerated. Good value too.

Popped into the Bricklayers Arms on the off-chance looking for a nice place to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary meal, and we couldn't have found a more welcoming, friendly, warm atmosphere anywhere else. The service was perfect, and the food was absolutely amazing. Garlic mushrooms were beautiful, 10oz steak was cooked to perfection and so tender. Toilets were very clean and well stocked. 5* highly recommend

So glad we decided to make our first ever visit to this place. Lovely ambience on entering and the staff were excellent throughout, including a warm welcome for our dog, who was also offered a drink. Service was attentive without feeling rushed. Spotlessly clean throughout and a good menu, which is available all day. Some of us had 3 courses and all were lovely. If you are in the surrounding area you should definitely give this place a try …. we travelled 20 miles to visit and will definitely return. Keep on doing what you are already doing - one of the nicest pub lunches we have had in a good while.

Found this place by accident,what a find!!!went for dinner on the Saturday night it was that good we returned next day for the Sunday carvery.

The meals are good quality home cooked. Good portion size. The prices are on the expensive side . Good kept beers a d plenty of sitting. Small enclosed play area. Plenty of parking

Found this place on the route to our holiday, service was friendly and quick, garden was nice for the kids, food was excellent and very nicely cooked with good sized portions, the chef even came out to ensure we were enjoying it. Great place and would definitely recommend for good wholesome pub food. Reasonably priced as well

We were for somewhere to eat and noticed the Bricklayers was only 3 and a bit miles away from where I we was fishing and staying at Green haven also recommended,phoned them and they had a table for 2 available (last one) The food was absolutely fantastic served by a friendly waitress,it was that good we booked for their carvery the next day and that was even better. If you are passing drop in ,you won't be sorry!!!
