Lovely full English breakfast, lots of toast! Disappointing ketchup - it wasn't Heinz! Service was quick, friendly staff.

This review is not for the food, the food is 5 star and never disappoints. It is however the owner who lets this place down, in my eyes alway, as myself and Grandmother regularly eat here on a Thursday and I have now had multiple bad run-ins where he has been a bit rude. Very unfortunate as I would recommend this place to anyone but I think today is the last time we visit.

Friendly little restaurant/cafe,/bar, the food is a notch above the usual Wetherspoons /Marstons/Greene King, good selection of home made pies (weatherproons don't seem to be able to do pies!). Over 100 meny items, impressive, food comes quickly on hot plates, unfortunately tea pots could be hotter. Roast potatoes may be more boiled than roast, but overall, a comfortable, warm, clean place with an impressive menu. Maybe a rice or curry dish or two would be a good addition, but its more ok than not, recommended

Whenever we visit Boston, we eat at Churches and that has been for many years now.We are always welcomed as we enter and choosing from the menu is so difficult as there is so much to choose from.Having a daily roast, not just for Sundays is always popular with us.The food is freshly cooked so expect to wait a few minutes till it arrives, but you won’t be disappointed as it is all scrumptious and good sized portions too.All the meals are reasonably priced hence there are a lot of “regulars” and they are all welcomed by name by the friendly owners and staff who even know what they are going to order.Yes this isn’t a trendy, ultra clinical restaurant, but it is quaint, friendly, homely and serves great home cooked food and we will be returning again in the near future.

With 2 granddaughters on a day out in Boston, found this place by accident. Serendipity! A fabulous setting. Full and interesting menu, good food, good value. Friendly and efficient no fuss service. Great.

Used to pop in on a regular basis for a fry up in the week however don't get the chance these days and I miss it! Really polite & fast service, food cooked to perfection and about as cheap as you will get for the quality of food! Never overly busy and although small inside it gives a cosy feel, will definitely pop in when next in town centre!

Stumbled across this place after crossing the bridge. Looked at the menu and went in. Nice relaxing restaurant and plenty of choice . Ordered the lamb shank and the New Yorker with bacon. Glad we did. The meal took a while to get to us, but then good food takes time. We were not disappointed. Lamb was done to perfection with a small pot of mint sauce. The burger was the best tasting I've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant

Rude lazy staff who didn't even manage to place the plate on the table but instead shoved the cold plate towards me to grab. Couldn't eat the breakfast.Deep fried bacon with a snotty egg, cheap beans and tiny sausage included some sort of potatoes which wasn't even on the menu.Told we couldn't even have a choice of bread as it had already been toasted. With a cup of tea came to over £6 each..Don't waste your money. Will definitely never go back.

Slightly over friendly welcome ( being of a certain age with wives all being referred to as "chaps"), but otherwise ok. Reasonable menu selection and choices but very disappointed with the offhand manner of the waitress during service and the plating of our dishes was very messy sadly which let down the overall ambience of the restaurant. Hopefully for others, this was just an "off day".

Loved this place. I had the scampiwhich was a real treat and tasty as well as very good value. Husband had chicken and leek pie and while this was not the best choice for the hottest day of the year it was delicious. There is an indoor and outdoor area by the river. Lovely glass of wine too. Definately a find.

Went to Boston for the day and found this place, thought it looked lovely and cute so we went in and ordered. A large Pepsi cost £1.75 that came out of a bottle We had to wait half an hour for food and when I ordered, I asked for my bacon to be well done. Our food eventually came and my bacon was rarely cooked, so I asked for them to cook it more just for it to be as bad as before, so I didn't eat it which cost me an extra 50pMeals are what you pay for for, wouldn't go back which is a shame as it seemed quite popular.

Popped in for lunch with a friend. Very pleasant surroundings with a lovely little terrace out the back. Lovely, freshly prepared food from a varied menu with something for everyone. My only gripe was the attitude we were met with from a gent I can only assume was the owner. As smokers, we were sat outside at a table with a sign clearly stating 'Smoking Area'. I was gobsmacked when we were told not to 'Smoke too much'. Either it's a smoking area or not - there are no degrees here. If you don't like it, designate the whole area as no smoking - we would still have eaten here. As it was, we decided against a dessert and second drink as we were made to feel like naughty school children. Such a shame a lovely venue was spoilt by such rudeness.

We'd heard several times about how good Churches is for breakfast so wandered down to Boston early Saturday to give it a try. We parked without difficulty about 4 minutes walk away (despite the Market Square being blocked off and filled with stuff for the May Fair) but if we'd been any later, we'd have been caught in traffic queues - which in Boston, are commonplace.Walked through an older part of the town and surprise, surprise...... Boston is really rather quaint, if a bit run down in places. Churches was found about 70 metres from the Boston Stump (otherwise known as St Botolph's Church - we went to look at it after breakfast and it's well worth a visit). Small place, and busy, but clean and welcoming. Two Churches Classic breakfasts ordered, with coffee, extra hash browns and fried bread instead of toast (eight half-slices turned up!). Oh, very good indeed. Generous, nicely cooked, quality sausages and bacon; if I was feeling really miserable I might suggest the beans were on the bit-too-cool side, but the rest of it was hot and delicious. Good coffee, friendly staff, what's not to like?Definitely worth the visit.

Do you like home cooking? I do.This was our second visit and I can honestly say it equalled the first. The decor may be a little dated, the ambience a little homely, but it all adds to its charm. Each time I have visited I have chosen the more traditional British food on the menu. It is so good, it evokes memories of my dear departed mother's home cooking.I unreservedly recommend this wonderful gem. You will not be disappointed.
