Went this evening 10th June 23, we have friends coming over next week and was looking for places to visit with them. What an absolute s**t hole The beer tasted like vinegar, children in the bar, no evidence of food being served. The place was utterly filthy cobwebs stained brown they were that old. We should have taken heed before we went in, we commented on all the dead hanging baskets. Didn’t finish our drinks, husband left his because it was so bad. Avoid at all costs, I don’t understand why so many good reviews it’s awful, in fairness we didn’t sample the food. Woman behind the bar was pleasant enough.

Stopped for a meal after being recommended by the caravan site we were staying at !! Walked in and noticed dirty tables, plaster falling off the walls in the lounge, the one and only cask ale tasted like vinegar and the girl behind the bar said "whats it supposed to taste like i don't drink it" The whole place was filthy so we walked out leaving the full pint on the bar. Never to return.

Stopped here for a family lunch. Bob and Tina were brilliant hosts, nothing was too much trouble and Tina served delicious and a very generous helping of food. Would definitely go back as all the locals made us feel very welcome.

Brilliant friendly traditional country style pub, really good pool table and a good atmosphere with the locals, staff and landlord all very welcoming and polite even the owners dog. Good selection of draught drinks and the only one we found locally that served coors, cheers Bob we will be back. (The Geordie Couple😬)

A really excellent Sunday lunch with choice of three meats and an amazing array of freshly cooked vegetables. Kind and helpful staff. Seriously recommend this place.

We called here whilst staying in the area. On our first visit the beer was so good and we were made to feel so welcome by Bob & Michelle that we just had to return...several times!! We then called for the Sunday Carvery. It was excellent, the meat was so tender and the vegetables cooked to perfection. I couldn't believe they only charge £6 per person. I have no hesitation in recommending this place and look forward to revisiting when we are next in the area.

Called here whilst camping in the area. Very pleasant, a little quaint but exceptionally good value meal, well presented and clean. Came away feeling very full and would visit again.

Visited today for the carvery which was faultless. One of us is veggie and had a mushroom, chestnut and cheese pastry which was yummy. Really good selection of vegetables and some of the best beef he's had according to my husband. Nice touch is gravy boat given to each table (inc veg) .Puds were just as good and we all cleared our plates, will def' return.
