Brewers Fayre Burton House in Boston

Booked a table for 7.15Arrived at 7.10Ordered a drink when seatedWaiter finally took order at 8pm - 50 minutes after we arrived..Starter arrived at 8.45… 95 minutes after we arrived.. how the hell does it take that long to chuck a handful of frozen things in a fryer & burn some garlic bread..Main course was rubbish.. very poor quality chicken on mash smothered in a very strange sauce.Staff have mastered the art or ignoring customers.. they wander around doing nothing.. hiding behind their masks.. we asked one young man how long our food would be.. he never returned to us.. from out seats you could see into the kitchen - staff wearing face shields… pointless has most had them perched on the top of their heads like a fashion accessory and there nose & mouth uncovered..We spoke to supervisor who was lovely & took cost of mains off the bill & gave us a 25% off voucher (which you can get by signing up online)All these issues can’t be blamed on Covid… it wasn’t busy - it was an unorganised shambles - the staff need training in how to do their job..to learn some manners & up their game

All over the news businesses are saying we need your custom. Clearly the Burton House Brewers Fayre don’t need people’s custom. We booked a table for 7pm and left at 9.30pm. In that time we waited an hour for starters, another half hour for our mains, half hour for our desserts and a quarter of an hour for the bill. We did ask for a discount as we had waited so long and they took £30 off. The staff were slow to clear our table and when our mains eventually arrived, the crockery for the starters were still on the table. Although service was slow the food was ok apart from the baked salmon which was a bit dry. We had previously met friends at the restaurant for a coffee in the afternoon and our cups were still on the outside table when we arrived for dinner! We won’t be going there again.

Booked in as we were going to be in town & also thought we'd have an anniversary lunch. Ordered 2 lunches from main menu. Wife had fish & chips which was fine. I ordered smothered chicken with mac/cheese topping. Mine had to go back, not really hot. In fairness 2nd attempt was a lot better & most items replaced. Chicken more tender/ chips were hotter. Eaten here a lot over the years & it is a bit hit & miss sometimes. The staff are fine but food sometimes good sometimes not quite on the mark. Usually good value though especially if you stick to 2 for £8.99. This visit only 3 star. Oh, the coffee we had before the meal wasn't very hot either!

My partner and I brought his mother here today for lunch. His mother and I had the Sunday lunch....what a mistake !!The meat was so chewy, the roast potatoes were clearly 'aunt bessie' type, the stuffing ball was so hard it could break your teeth, the Yorkshire pudding was very undercooked, the gravy was tasteless and the veg was mush. I complained to the waitress and she shrugged and took our almost full plates away.She came back with the bill and I suggested that maybe a reduction was in order......This fell on deaf ears !!! We paid our £40+ Bill and left the restaurant very upset.We have previously been regular customers of the burton in previous years but we shall never go there again. Food and service was appalling.

Lovely , freindly staffs. Foods are good, enjoyed their happy hour meal deal. They also serve costa coffee. Varieties of drinks are also available. Really handy if you stay on premier inn just next door.

Popped in for evening drinks whilst staying at the premier inn. Good selection of drinks as usual and easy to get a table at the bar with good social distancing

Visit 1730 on Thursday night. Had the Smothered chicken and Fish and chips upgraded to Giant Atlantic haddock extra £1.29. Smothered chicken best had in a long time anywhere, fish n chips v good. Portion sizes quite large and refillable soft drinks.2 Mains for £8.99 12-6pm Mon-Fri Excellent value. Drinks ordered at table and food ordered when drinks delivered, food delivery promptly and hot. Could have added starter or pudding for extra £1.99 each. No room for desert so can't advise.They also do a loyalty card offering money off and free food with enough points collected. 250 points allocated for signing up.

Food was cooked as we required my fish and chips were wonderful and service was great under these very difficult times

Not been since Xmas so didn't know what to expect. Greeted at the door by a very happy lady with a white top on presumably management. Explained everything about the limited menu, told it was complete table service now and everything would be done for us , we were then asked if our party had any allergies and shown to our table. After we received our drinks we were introduced to a lovely friendly member in a red shirt who took our food order and brought us sauces and cutlery etc. Through out the whole experience was lovely and will definitely be returning soon. It was our 1st day back out as a family so we went to the burton for lunch. We was welcomed at our table by a lovely young lady sadie. The zoner was very polite & helpful she 'sadie'talked us though what we needed to do & how it all works. Snice they reopened its more welcoming and staff seem happier to work there. We will be back again.

This was the first visit since lockdown. I was quite nervous at first. But as soon as I entered, I felt a sense of ease. We were sat down and explained everything to us from the one way system to full table service. Was sat at a table surrounded by screens which for me and my wife was a God send. Food was brilliant, service was excellent. And you can tell that they have been busy during lockdown sprucing the place up. Looks a lot brighter and fresher. Well done Burton House we shall be seeing more of you very soon.

We visited this restaurant during the 'Eat out to help out' scheme. Ade, who greeted us at the door, served us brilliantly throughout and explained the safety measures clearly. The food was good and well-cooked for a chain pub restaurant.

Totally let down male holster who repeatly mad stupid noises, where explained to children before arriving that the was to be no misbehaving which was sabotaged by him making stupid duck noise and chasing them getting the children excited

We where very worried about going out for the first time since covid, but we are so happy we did we where met by a very happy bubble gent who explained everything to us and put us at ease, a lovely lady called Stacey sorted our drinks for us all staff where very professional and the food and service was amazing

Mixed reviews for this place We had breakfast for two mornings and went for a drink in the evening First morning breakfast was very good well organised breakfast was very quick and enjoyed it that evening just wanted a drink the lady on reception was lovely showed us to a table we had a few drinks feeling safe within new guidelines 2nd morning we had breakfast we were waiting about 20 minutes before anyone took breakfast order (about four groups that came after us had there’s taken ) and waited at least 45 minutes to receive this meal - being pregnant I felt very sick waiting this time for food and rest of my group were not hungry by this time was very disappointed

Visited today for lunch with friends and was really impressed by the welcome and service throughout the visit. We all picked Haddock and chips as it was something we had missed during lockdown, it arrived in good time and it was brilliant. It was the best I have had for years. The staff deserve our thanks as nothing was too much trouble.

Went yesterday, had the carvery, that the chefs serve due to covid restrictions , Which is well understandable, Was met on reception by a gentleman who talked so much, we like social and friendly people but this was way over the top, He showed us to a table the smallest in there, it was 3:30 and there was so so many free tables, I said have you any other tables please, this is a squash, he said this is probably the worst table in the house,and moved the screen back, at the back of me, Which gave a tad more room and I mean tad, We waited over 3/4 hour for the carvery, there was literally nobody having it as I went to the toilet and passed it, nobody was there, We got our food and I bet we was out in fifteen minutes, could not wait to get out squashed in that table no 46, Husband has had a knee operation also, I did ask for another table, it fell on deaf ears, and he said worst table in the house, Wanted to say you allocated it, but just don’t need that when going out for a meal, Carvery was mediocre, never worth £9:99 each, Won’t go again, Not comfortable,

Bit of a wait to get in but well spaced out . Don’t seem to do any weekend offers but we enjoyed our visit and food was good for us and still doing the soft drink refills showed no availability on website we phoned booked and got a table no problem

Ate here for dinner on a Friday Night, and Breakfast Saturday whilst staying at adjacent Premier Inn.There are a number of restrictions due to Covid-19. For example, separate enttrance and exit routes, no cutlery on the table when you arrive, and food is brought to the table in a different way. I have no problem with any of this, as it is Government regulation, and although not ideal, it has to be.What I did have issues around was the stupidly limited menu offered for dinner. It was unimaginative and featured 4 very bland starters, about 15 mains and about 6 desserts. The limited menu could have more imaginative offerings and sell them to the customer in a more attractive manner.When the food did arrive, (after a 35 minute wait from ordering), it was poorly presented, and the cooking was decidely average. Generally the service seemed very slow, and one could get the impression that the management were running with too few staff, by keeping most of them furloughed at the Government expense!For breakfast, we were not presented with any form of menu, and when a waiting staff memebr did present at the table, they offered a list of cooked breakfast itemms, and did we want youghurt? There was no mention of cereals, although another member of staff offered cereals to an adjacent table. Why no printed disposable menu??? Normally, it would be a buffet service, but as that is impossible under Covid regs, why not print menus? They do for dinner!The breakfast when it did arrive was less than good quality. Poached eggs were "snotty" and undercooked, the toast had been waved in front of a heat source, rather than been browned off, and the beans were clearly not Heinz, and tasted disgusting. To cap it all a membber of the waiting staff firstly demanded in a very aggressive manner; "DO you want more juice?" Surely, a softer approach of "Can I serve you some more orange juice" would be less intimidating? The sma member of staff later returned, and agressivelydemanded whether we wanted any pastries. When we declined, she said "You can take them with you... are you sure"? I'm sure the management don't condone customers taking food away with them!All in all, poor expereince, and we won't be back.

My Wife and I ate at Burton House on a Monday evening before 6pm. They do a special deal 2 mains for £8.99 and a pudding for £1.99 each so we though we would give it a go. We were shown to a table quickly and told to order at the bar when ready a reasonable amount of choice on the before 6pm deal we ordered our mains and pudding with drinks and it was £21 for 2 mains £1.29 extra for large haddock 2 puddings and 2 pints so wasn’t expecting that much. The food arrived after 5/10 minutes and looked and tasted good and a good plate full. Puddings were very nice and not small overall we were very pleased the food was good the service was good the place was busy with lots of reserved tables. Would go again

Visited on a Monday lunchtime, the restaurant was busy. We had the lunch deal which is good value. Sausage egg and chips and the burger. Both were fine but not outstanding. Service was ok.

We don't come that often because it's so hit and miss with food.I had tomato soup today which was powdered soup (like a cuppa soup) None of the food looked great, however saying this the place was very busy so maybe ours was a one off. Staff are always friendly. That actually pub is in need of some tlc. Won't be rushing back.

I went along to Burton House and couldnt fault anything. Food hot and tasty. Service very good. Waitress came to make sure everything was ok.

Came in for the first time in years. Was sat at a quiet table in the top of the restaurant, i was served by stacey. Food came quickly, by this time it was very busy. Food was excellent and service was even better.

The quality of the beer is very good and the lady called Leanne is very efficient the building could do with a refurbishment as is looking worn and more bar stools please.

I stay at premier Inn when i am away on business and eat at the on site restaurant.

Best breakfast we have had today, well done to chef Mark Knot. Definitely reccomend as cooked to order in the week.

We were staying at the Premier Inn and had dinner and breakfast here for a few days. We found you had to get there by 6pm for dinner as it filled up so quickly and queues would form for tables and food ordering.

We booked a table of 5 (4 adults and a child) for 18:30. I had a mixed grill - the chicken was dry and the steak was very very tough, to the point I couldn’t eat it. We then waited 40+ minutes for 4 ice creams - no apology for the delay. Very disappointed.

Well ... what a lovely day. Booked a table for 1pm to meet my parents for lunch. We were placed on table 44 in the window ( where we always sit despite me not mentioning this ! ) that’s what I love about here they always remember the little things. Must admit I expected it being quieter and was worried that it was so busy and that Stacey was not on duty Ade was. Mum and dad arrived and we chose our meals. Went for the two for 8.99 and upgraded the fish to Haddock .. mum had a Caesar salad . Had nachos for a nibbler as we expected to wait as it was so busy. Starter arrived and was promptly followed by our meals all washed down with a nice bottle of the Sauvignon me and mum love. Oh and yes we had Puddings too ...

We had an evening meal and a breakfast and the food was of good x quality and well cooked. The staff were especially friendly and efficient. The breakfast was especially good.

We visited the Burton last night for my daughters birthday. There were 8 of us and we placed our order together. The starters came which were lovely and they brought the young children’s meals which was great as it gave us chance to feed them before our mains came. The meals were all brought at the same time by a lovely lady named Stacy who was very friendly and accommodating. There was also a guy (didn’t get his name) who asked if we needed anything else and also came back to check everything was ok. Great service and nice meals. Big thanks again to Stacey who went out of her way to make sure we were ok.

Stopped of in prem inn as visiting family over the festives. Booked in Burton for Breakfast and dinner both days. Breakfast was really good, good choice and nice hot food. Was really impressed with staff as nothing was to much trouble for them and was greeted and seated by a lovely girl called Sarah. Following evening i was served by Sarah at the bar for evening meal with family and she was still smiling and helpful with menu choice and dietry requirments. Place was booming would advice to book, bit of a wait on food but was nice enough place could be doing with a refurb as looks dated and tired but clean enough. Would recommend this place if stopping in premier inn, lovely atmosphere lovely staff.

All though we waited a while ( they were very busy) the meal was fab and we all agreed. The lady behind the bar Sarah was so helpful and cheerful considering the place was full to the brim.

Great food for the price and very helpful and friendly staff, Sarah in particular taking time to listen to some dietary requirements needed for a member of our family.

Our dinner date was superb with the help of Sophie giving us her opinions on the excellent Christmas menu out, extremely friendly and the food was spot on.

Just been to Burton house for lunch after a hospital visit i must say i am pleased i called in what a gem first class service hot piping food and a great pint of Guinness this pub is a credit to the manager and his team i will definitely be back in the new year

Visited for work, hotel is as you’d expect. The pub is clean and the food is as standard. The part where the pub excels is with its staff.....all are very friendly, big shout out to Sarah especially, very friendly and polite

The beer is top quality and was greeted warmly by Leanne who was doing a wonderful job. Allen the manager also came to say hello which was nice. The restaurant was busy and could do with a few more bar stools for drinkers, overall a great place to drink

Came for our works Christmas party. I have to say it was so greatly organised that I hardly had to do anything. Stacey was always in contact with any enquires we had and made it so easy for us on the night we didn't have to leave the table. Took the stress out of the whole night for me. Thankyou so much

We came to The Burton in Boston as it was our nearest one and not far from the cinema in town. The food is always hot and you don't have to wait long. The staff are pleasant and friendly.

Staff are always friendly, food was excellent and great value for your money even when they was extremely busy, this is the place to go around Boston area

We stayed in Boston for three days and had breakfast and evening meals here on all occasions, it was very good the car very was excellent and the breakfasts kept us going all day

Just had a so called sunday dinner here. The beef on both of our plates was full of gristle and very tough, the roast potatoes were as hard as hell and the veg had run out and we had to stand there with the meat waiting for 3 or 4 mins waiting for more. For 9.99 each it was a waste. This price included a soup starter which we didn't want as we don't like tomato soup, why not charge 7.99 for a single course and 9.99 if you want soup, simple and less of a RIP off than trying to justify paying 9.99 for tough meat. We wont be going again and my advice is if you want a nice roast, try somewhere else.

Very fair prices, good luck cation for Boston. Next to Premier Inn . Gets very, very busy but good cheap eats near Boston. Parking is free but can be hard to find a space evenings.

Went at lunch 2meals for not much money wasnt expecting much but what we got was lovely and then desserts were fab too. Unlimited coffee refills bonus too. Would recommend anyone give it a try we were very satisfied

Terrible. For starters the place is absolutely filthy. The food was an absolute age coming out over an hour for 5 adult meals and 2 kids despite the place being empty. It was all over cooked and some of it obviously reheated. One of the kids meals was so bad I wouldn’t have fed it to a dog.

Came here for the first time in ages. And was pleasantly surprised how good the service was. For how busy it was they did very well. Food came out quickly and was very good. Was made to feel welcome throughout and nothing was too much trouble.

Experienced Breakfasts and Dinners the food is typical Brewers Fayre but the Service was exceptional - friendly, helpful and attentive. Very popular with residents and locals so advise booking for dinner.

Yesterday morning my daughter-in-law was in the early stages of labour having been sent back home from the hospital. As we live towards New Leake we felt it was not sensible to return home so we decided to come across to the Burton. After explaining the situation the staff were absolutely amazing, nothing was to much to ask, they are an absolute credit to themselves obviously but also to the company, I cannot stress how impressed we all were as a family! I know it is a bit of a cliche but they have restored my faith in humanity. We are now the very proud parents and grandparents of a beautiful baby girl weighing 7lb 14. We cannot thank you all enough, lots of love The Thomas-Thompson’s xxxx

I regularly meet my business partner here as we find the quality of the drinks excellent and the majority of the staff also of an excellent standard. The bar area has a positive vibe but as I’m sure you are aware is in need of an update.

We all had a lovely time there with my brothers and nephew we took advantage of the two mains for £8.99. We ordered the Smothered Chicken, Chicken Curry, Gammon steak, Feta and spinach Lasagne. The food was delicious and delivered hot and promptly. Everyone enjoyed their meals and its definitely something that we will be doing again soon.

I've been going to the Burton since it opened, which is quite a few years now. Over the years the food has been good, a cosy place and the staff very friendly to present!

if you want a plate of plastic food that looks like it should be on a Childs play kitchen then you have come to the right place this morning I went to the Burton with a friend to have the full breakfast deal I was left speechless the bacon was that hard I couldn’t even cut it the scrambled egg was so watery it look like sick the tomatoes were not grilled looked very anaemic and the sausage well that must’ve been sat on the side for days on end to top it off I paid for the full breakfast which is full English and Continental they were so quick to take my payment to them in for me after taking the payment that there was hardly anything left on the Continental side no croissant’s no pancakes just a few slices of bread no semiskimmed milk bearing in mind it was 10 o’clock when we arrived I am not too sure what was going on but it was diabolical an absolute joke one of the waitresses that is always there on a breakfast is so rude if you want to be stayed out and looked at in disgust then she is your woman I have worked in hospitality before and this wouldn’t be acceptable

Really enjoyed out all you can eat breakfast great value for money. Will go back with the rest of the family .

Waited to be seated for about 10 mins when ordered the queue was massive but food didn’t take long I had gammon and chips which was ok apart from the chips were a bit greasy. My partner had chicken and ribs and he really wasn’t happy. The ribs were burnt to a crisp literally no meat on them at all so just pointless. Won’t return in a hurry I’m afraid.

We were very quickly shown to a table by a pleasant member of staff, however the table was so dark due to lightbulbs being out, that we found it necessary to use a mobile phone as a torch to read the menu. It went downhill from there.

We went over to this pub for food whilst staying at the premier inn attached. First impression from out side was very scruffy indeed paint flaking off windows looking a mess . When we entered the carpet looked like it hadn’t been hoovered and bits everywhere . However the food was nice and the bar and food serving staff where really polite and friendly.

We visited here as we have just moved to the area and needed food. We are regular Brewers Fayre users and this one did not disappoint. The server was friendly and obviously enjoyed her job. The food was hot and tasty. It was very busy and I could see why. The decor needs refreshing (why do large companies let their businesses get so run down). We will be back.

Dinners were very poor. Tried several items. Cheddar cheese seemed to feature heavily. Recipes need updating from the 1970’s style of cooking.

Always pop in here with my mum when she has her hospital appointment. Food always lovely staff are great .. mum has quite a complicated diet and the staff are so helpful. Stacey In particular stands out she remembers my mum and always makes suggestions to help vary mums meal ... looking forward to the new menu which I was told is coming soon.

We like the Brewers Fayre menu so when we found a restaurant near Boston, Lincolnshire decided to give this one a try. They were busy, the car park was almost full, yet we found the staff helpful and they soon found us a place, although we had not booked. Had the salmon and gammon, and found both meals good and excellent value. Next time we are in this area we shall stay at the nearby Premier Inn as we now know this restaurant is OK for us, infact we liked the resaurant so much went back a couple of days later for further meals!

Starter ok, main course awful, and certainly not up to usual Brewers Fayre standard. Peas had been kept warm in hot water for hours, utterly colourless and tasteless, gammon hard and dry, egg yolk hard, salmon dried out. Wine was supposidly the same one as I enjoy at home but definitely didn't taste the same. Carpets and seating filthy, and as someone else said, full of chavs with badly behaved kids. Staying at PI next door, and paid for meal deal, wish we hadn't. Maybe breakfast will be better!

Had fish and chips fish was non existence, half batter was rock hard other end soft but not cooked,where was the fish,,, will definitely not go there again, came from France on holiday and took family for meal

Always a very good meal at this restaurant. Marvellous choice, excellent value, especially the two for £8.99 deal weekdays. Always good service and very pleasant staff. Well positioned for lunch before or after shopping in Boston. Can thoroughly recommend.

I would like to thank all the staff for their hard work and appreciation. We had a party here yesterday and what can I say we were looked after so well. All of my party were at ease and commented on how well the day went. Cant believe anyone has a bad word to say about the place because we certainly havent. And looking at the peoples profiles that leave bad reviews, well what can I say their obviously not happy wherever they go. Thabkyou once again burton house team for making our day as special as it was.

This is no reflection on the hotel, but they are guilty by association unfortunately.

Awful, awful, awful, awful. Beer off, staff useless, food inedible, scruffy, filthy toilets, staff ignorant, where do you want me to stop.....

Stood at the bar for 20 minutes for a soda water and walked past to serve all but me. Ordered dinner. 1 hour and 20 minutes till it arrived over their mix up with table numbers. Then another 40 minute wait for a child’s hard pancake. She was very hungry as she didn’t get any of her dinner as was inedible.!! The mash you could lift the whole lot up with your fork. The beans were so hard and dry that when she lifted the pot to empty them none came out.!! Usually come here every week. Sometimes twice. They have gone so downhill. Our server was genuinely the worse I have ever known. The second who we spoke with was very nice. She kindly offered us a free desert but after 2 hours we’d had enough and to be fair after the evening sitting sweating and waiting in the boiling heat tempers were about to flare so we departed. Dreadful experience and after years of custom am extremely disappointed.

We come to this restaurant on special occasions. Each time we are made to feel welcome even though we dont come regular. Staff are lovely, food is delicious.

Even though the pub was very busy we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. The staff were nice and extremely helpful. We had a lovely meal and the desserts were incredible! We will definitely be returning and will recommend the pub to family and friends.

Was really busy when we visited however the staff and food was fab! nothing seemed to be too much trouble! very enjoyable rest before travelling the rest of the way home :-)

I have never up to now eaten in such a deplorable place. The decor is so dated that in places the wall decoration is no more. The food was equally poor - even worse that a greasy spoon transport cafe. The best part must be their Health and Hygiene rating. Be aware.

Booked a table several weeks ago. Although the menu had a diverse selection, several items were OFF and also there was an hour wait for food so in general was quite a disappointing night. My "salad garnish" was one tiny slice of red onion. My burger was decidedly average but considering it was £4 MORE expensive than a similar burger at Goodbarns Yard, I was very disappointed. Wish I had booked for there instead. Customer service also poor, felt rushed by staff to eat up and vacate the table.

Arrived having booked a table. Was rudely told to join a big queue. I am Visually Impaired using a white cane. Queues are difficult for me with limited vision. No help offered . Discriminatory.
