The best restaurants serving British food in Bassetlaw East Midlands

This is a leading fine dining experience. We’ve eaten at some lovely places but the food, service and ambience of this restaurant is beyond any we have experienced. I had the most tender devilled kidneys and the tenderest steak Rossini ever. The service was professional and faultless. Definitely recommend this establishment and we will be returning very soon.

Recientemente tuvimos nuestra boda en este lugar. Honestamente puedo decir que no podíamos culpar a nada. Elizabeth y Beth era muy servicial de nuestras peticiones y se aseguró de que el día se desarrolló sin problemas. La comida era preciosa y los invitados de la boda requisitos dietéticos se cumplió todo. El lugar y los jardines son fabulosos. Un gran grupo de familiares y amigos se unió a nosotros al día siguiente para la cena del domingo para continuar con las celebraciones, el personal acomodó a nuestro gran grupo y la comida era encantadora una vez más.

We're very local, and have known The Crown in various guises over the years. Helen has only recently taken over here but has continued the good work. It's a bit off the beaten track - but only 3 miles or so from the A1; nice...

Such an amazing place! The best beer garden with such a nice atmosphere. Had a Sunday roast last week which was very good. Pizza shed in the back serving pizzas/ dough balls which look and smell fab. Ice creams at the cowshed are unreal (the queue is quite big on a weekend) and live music on the weekends through the summer is such a nice addition

Found this by chance, friendly staff small choice of menue. Small dining room, toilet. Seating outside. Small car park few pot holes. Would recommend to others.

We recently had our wedding at this beautiful venue and couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure everything ran smoothly. The organisation was flawless, and Danielle truly went above and beyond, every little detail was thought of, and the room was decorated so beautifully. Nothing was ever too much to ask. A special thank you to Julie for the absolutely delicious food, and to Dominique for your excellent service throughout. The entire team made us feel so well looked after. We honestly couldn’t thank you all enough…we really did have the best day ever!

Best Cafe in Workshop for good value, honest, fresh cooked food. The staff we have always found to be friendly and efficient too. My wife and family have been frequenting this place for more than 15 years and have never had a bad experience. Yes the building is old Victorian era and has been many things before in its past, so it has obviously been knocked around quite a bit. This for me gives it character, look at the old creaky staircase and wonder who and how many people climbed them in the past.... If this building could speak it would tell some interesting.tales I'm sure. There are many things you could say are not great standard if you are hard to please but the food quality and staff are top notch and this makes it a comfortable place to eat, our type of cafe. My particular fave dish is the Cheese Omelette, but between me, my wife and our children we have tried quite a good selection from the menu without complaints. We are always greeted on entry and the food is always served in a timely fashion, with a smile. We have tried other cafes in Workshop but they don't have the value, character or warmth that this one has. So try it out, if it's not for you go and be robbed by some of the other pirates in Worksop.

Wife had Vegan breakfast and oat milk latte and I had Mega breakfast with black coffee, both excellent, everything spotless with tables quickly cleared and little delay waiting and very well run by the very hard working guy at front and young girl on coffee machine!

What a lovely pub! Food was very nice, good choice of cider and wine and wonderfully friendly staff - what a find!

We have visited a few times over the last month for early food on a Friday evening Firstly great atmosphere in the pud booked a table that’s dog friendly Service has always been excellent and staff are extremely polite and helpful Ordered food starter and main course for both of us We had tempura prawns as first course very good and for main course I had braised beef And Gill had ribs that are massive and I am told very tasty Highly recommend the place staff and the food we will be back Thanks to Sonny for looking after us

Beautiful home cooked Quiche just so tasty 😋 fresh out the oven The staff were lovely only complaint was the wine wasn't chilled but was changed for the ladies once they commented on it so fabulous experience.

Estábamos deseando una comida en este restaurante durante tanto tiempo, llegamos y las cosas empiezan a salir mal inmediatamente, pedimos el menú de cócteles y nos dijeron “estamos entre cócteles” ? Nos ofrecieron limonada y jarabe de frambuesa. Llegamos temprano así que tomamos una copa, después de que nos sirvieron comenté lo miserable que se veía la señora mayor, no sonrió y no habló, nos mostraron a nuestra mesa y la misma mujer tomó nuestro pedido, mi esposa pidió cerdo pero le dijeron que pueden estar sin cerdo pero la señora dijo que se enteraría y nos lo haría saber. (Esto no sucedió). Me decepcionó que no hubiera ropa de mesa y nuestra vela era una pequeña pila de cera derretida. Para mi decepción y en esta época, ni una sola vez nos preguntaron si alguno de los dos tenía alergias. Llegaron nuestros entrantes y estaban sosos, yo tenía unas nueces en un jarabe dulce pegajoso que no añadía nada al plato, llegó la red principal que fue cuando nos enteramos de que quedaba cerdo, yo tenía el dúo de carne de res. Mi esposa disfrutó mucho de su comida de cerdo, mi carne de res era encantador excepto por el Bon Bon que estaba muy seco. Pedimos el menú de vinos pero esto no llegó así que volvimos a preguntar y cuando finalmente llegó nos atendió rápidamente la joven, pedimos desierto y cuando finalmente llegó el menú esperamos y esperamos a que nos tomaran la orden, fui al baño y vi el frente de la casa y a las camareras riendo y divirtiéndose, sin embargo, 25 minutos después todavía no nos habían servido así que decidí irme, mi esposa le preguntó a un camarero si podía tener nuestra cuenta y la respuesta fue grosera y abrupta (sí) pero esperamos nuevamente y después de una segunda solicitud llegó. Solemos dejar un tip y una buena reseña si se merece pero tristemente no en esta ocasión. No culpo al personal, parecía haber a muchos inexpertos personal sin orientación de su frente de casa, todo parecía a mucho de un problema, tristemente NO volveremos a este restaurante.

Paul and Fari are such nice friendly people. The bread making day was superb, as was the lunch and other refreshments. We feel we not only learnt a new skill but made two great friends. Absolutley well worth the time and money.

Last night was our first visit. We were most impressed. We shall be returning. The food was outstanding. The service was faultless. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you.
