Great village pub with its very own real ale brewery. Dog friendly and log fires a proper pub . And wed night is pie night but be sure to get in early as it gets rammed .

We visited the pub on recommendation from a nearby lodge holiday at Birch View Holiday Lodges. Such a great recommendation- the staff were super friendly & our Sunday Roast was the best we have had at a pub in a long time. Portions were great!!! We also enjoyed a super tasty dessert after. Highly recommend if you are in this area :) we will definitely be back 👌

Arrived just before 8 for food and was told it was too late, accepted this, however the staff were still bringing food out until after 9. We asked if we could just have a simple sandwich and chips as we were hungry, stayed on a local campsite and hadn’t eaten, still refused! The pub wasn’t busy at all and was a Saturday night. No ice for the drinks and most drinks we asked for were out of stock! Rude staff especially the cocky chef that clearly doesn’t care about the business earning money! Will not be returning again. Very disappointed.

Had lunch today with friends,food and service excellent.

Lovely lunch with family at the White Hart. We had gluten free scampi, chips and salad, standard scampi, homemade pie then we all had the homemade icecream, all lovely and good size portions. We also had their own beer, from their micro brewery. Attentive service. We ate in the pub, then moved to the beer garden. Really enjoyed it here.

A lovely little pub in the village, food is lovely and they has special deals during the week too. Will definitely return, Louise service was brilliant 👏

I went here with my elderly parents for dinner on Friday night. Just what a pub should be: caters for everyone young and old, good range of beers, decent prices. Staff were really attentive. Food was excellent. Will return.

This place is just what a good pub should be, friendly, good ale (brewed on the premises at the Idle brewery), great food with good portion sizes, great service, warm, comfortable and with a great atmosphere. It ticks all the boxes. What more can I say other than try it for yourself? We will most certainly be back, once we have completed the Chesterfield canal that is.

For me a really tasty mince beef pie with chips and lots of gravy and very nicely cooked fish and chips for my wife. Proper pub food and their superb Idle Digger. Lovely atmosphere with a selection of well behaved dogs.

Had a meal for my Birthday today, the food was excellent, service was top notch, staff was 5 star. Highly recommend the biscotti cheese cake, could have eaten another portion . Beer first class. Pint of Digger 5* Will definitely come back again Nigel and Gina xx

Love this pub! If ever we are in the area we make a point of visiting. Superb food, all of the finest quality, cooked to perfection. I recommend their fish and chips meal! Staff are lovely and the locals friendly. The pub also is linked to a micro brewery who provide a nice pint from the range of Idle beers they serve. What is not to like? A gem of an English village pub that I am delighted to recommend to anyone pondering on a visit!

This is a really nice place to have lunch and a drink. We were warmly welcomed and looked after by our friendly host. Menu choice was very good and included a good range of vegetarian options. The Idle Brewery made IPA was perfect!

We arrived on a wet & windy lunch time. Already a few customers were eating substantial meals & sampling well keep beers. We had light bites! Three had gammon with egg, pineapple, peas, & chips. One had fish & chips. Not small meals so do not be misled. Very good value for money. Nicely presented & served by a friendly waitress. The sweet choice is wonderful. We had an apple crumble, a Christmas pudding, & a jam & coconut sponge. Lovely. Nobody left wanting more! Very clean throughout including toilets. A credit to those who run this gem of a pub. Thank you.

Had the best restaurant fish and chips I've ever had. The fish was fresh, moist and large, with a delicious batter! The price was reasonable as well. All our party thoroughly enjoyed their dishes as well. Recommended.

What a lovely local pub! Great new owners and smashing food. Always friendly and a welcoming atmosphere. Make sure you try their Sunday lunches .... they cannot be beaten! And the quizzes.... very entertaining! 🤣

Had Sunday dinner food was nice

Firstly the positive - The service was very good. Our food and drinks were served in a very timely manner - staff were polite and attentive. We went in as a family of 5 there was no white meat or fish on the menu for Sunday lunch - We asked if they could serve some chicken for my mother in law which they kindly did - Our food all arrived together - 3 beef 1 Gammon and 1 chicken - The presentation of the food was very good in all cases along with the vegetables a good selection and very tasty. Now the negative - I’m afraid only the gammon was ok the beef and chicken were extremely tough especially the beef - silly but we ate it as we were very hungry and I only complained about the beef when I was paying. Sorry but we thought we would try the White Heart again but it’s the third time there has been an issue with the food so won’t be going back.

Our second visit to this wonderful pub.. this time to sample Pie night ! Amazingly tasty Steak and Stilton / Chicken and Bacon ..brilliant value and portions served by great staff. This pub has a lovely warm and welcoming atmosphere...great mix of diners and locals playing pool. Toasty stove... The ideal local (ish ) !!

We visited on a Friday night and both the in and restaurant were busy. Deservedly so. The menu was tempting with a good variety and the food was well cooked. The beer, from the Idle Brewery was equally tasty. And the waitress was attentive despite the number of customers. Highly recommended.

We came here for a meal last night, very tired after a long day on our boat. Lovely atmosphere, great food and very friendly and efficient service. An added bonus was that the beer was brewed on the premises and we tried their Golden Ale - really good. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff good choice of food

We really enjoy our visits here. The food may take a while when busy, but it's worth the wait, as its all fresh. Good selection on the menu, and the staff are pleasant and helpful. We have been going for years, and the quality has never dropped. Keep it up and looking forward to our next visit. Chris W

Stopped here for dinner as we were passing by boat on the river. Service was excellent, great food and beer, would definitely come back again next time.

Perfect Sunday! Absolutely sensational quality Sunday dinner in the most friendly pub. From the very moment we arrived the staff are just brilliant…. Quick service and brilliant menu. Tried the local Idle IPA… not disappointed,tremendous. Most definitely going back!

After a busy 3 days , we decided to just pop in on short notice, from entering the pub we was greeted by Livy and Emma who was in front of house as such, both young ladies worked very hard to provide excellent service, ordering our found was quick and in a timely manner, i feel this pub as reach the heights of the previous owners, a lovely community pub and a micro brewery run by the Dad, and he knows is Stuff, lovely guy, and not forgetting the unseen staff in the Kitchen a special Thanks to jayne and the rest of the team a lovely Meal kind Regards Mark&Jayne Epworth

Beautiful home made food, good choice of beers, definitely would recommend a visit when in West Stockwith.

Came her for a birthday meal it was pie nite which was perfect, pie and service was excellent!

We booked a table for 7pm. On arrival we were welcomed and promptly shown to our table and drinks order taken. We were immediately presented with the menu's andour order was taken quickly. The food appeared in timely fashion, well presented and hot. The Waitress was very attentive and the food was delicious. Top marks all round.

Great pub with a lovley beer garden shall use this pub again when im in the area.

Arrived at 1135 on a monday in the North Notts desert .Pubs either closed on mondays or turned into houses in this,area.White Hart opened 5 mins earlier and even better they brew their own beer

Received a friendly welcome, very helpful staff. Good quality food, took a little while to come out but there were 9 of us. The homemade ice cream is something else, would come just for a cone if we were passing. Would definitely return, everyone said they enjoyed their meals.

Myself and partner did a trial run of a cycle route for our local club and stumbled upon this place. Was so good we decided to include it on our club run today. Eight hungry thirsty cyclists were well watered ( especially with their Idle Brewery beer) and fed extremely well. The sandwiches were popular amongst the group and with all the sides they came with they certainly replaced the burnt off calories. Beer lovely, food good, service friendly and polite and reasonably priced. Great beer garden. Everyone enjoyed the visit. Many thanks on behalf of Tickhill Velo 🙂

Called for lunch. First time we’d visited and it won’t be the last. Friendly welcome and nice atmosphere of a real pub with drinkers as well as diners. Nice pint brewed on site at the Idle Brewery. Good food. I liked that smaller portions were offered on some items which meant I had room for the delicious garlic mushroom starter. He liked the haddock as it was as big as a whale. Would recommend.

Idle Diamond beer is really good and the food was delicious taken from an extensive menu with great daily specials. We will be back

Visited today with a friend and had a lovely experience. We ordered 6 starters rather than 2 main courses, we were advised by the young lady serving us that this was rather a lot of food, we chose to ignore her advice and she was correct!! The food was amazing as was the wine we washed it down with. A lovely lunch for two friends catching up after a while embellished by lovely food and friendly, helpful bar staff.

Excellent food, amazing friendly staff…a menu that just keeps giving. We have eaten here several times now, and have never been dissapointed. The food is amazing. The fish and chips on a Monday! Is fresh from Grimsby. The pies are delicious. They know how to cook a steak! Drinks are cheaper than most pubs! Well worth going, you will not be dissapointed.

Called for lunch yesterday. The food and own-brewed beer was remarkable as was the service. Remember our last visit of many years ago when we had a similar experience, no doubt the ownership has changed since then but the present owners are doing an exceptional job. Really good food and beer at sensible prices.

Great welcome from staff for both us and the dog. One of the staff even wears a pen in their hair just like an old colleague from a hotel in Newcastle!! If I'm right you haven't changed at all ?!?

Had been walking around Westwoodside area and wanted somewhere nice for my friends birthday lunch. Really lovely menu and friendly lady behind the bar. Had homemade pie and my friend had the fish & chips. Such a pleasure for it all to be homemade and “proper” chips. We do a lot of walking in the area so will definitely be going back. Thank you
