We are so very lucky to have the Retreat on The Row in our village. The food is excellent, 5* +, each dish is an adventure for your taste buds and the portions are more than generous. We had a really memorable evening and can’t wait to repeat it. Thank you Ricky, not forgetting Janine and Stuart for making us so very welcome.

These guys put on a fantastic Christmas buffet for us, the staff were great and were great to share tall tales and endless stories with. Can’t wait to come back again, merry Christmas x

Went here for lunch with a friend. We hadn’t booked but with a wait we could be accommodated. I’ll book next time. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. They were disinfecting tables and chairs when customers left and tables were well distanced. The menu was full of interesting dishes so was spoiled for choice. I can recommend the cauliflower and onion bajhi salad. It’s classed as a light bite but it was very filling. Had already ordered carrot cake but managed to squeeze it in. It was a proper sized piece of cake too! The food was delicious and fresh. Would highly recommend it and will be back myself.

Absolutely one of the best home cooked style Sunday lunch I've had in many many years. We all had something different. The pork was top Draw. And i need to go back to have the pie.

For anyone who reads my "foodie" reviews Markham Moor Inn is on my favourites list. We decided to have a Birthday meal here for my partners 70th, quite a few of us. As usual nothing was too much trouble. We had a large age range and were able to choose from the Christmas Menu, the Pub Menu and the Childrens so that everyone who attended could find something to their liking as we had a few "awkward" eaters. When we arrived the Birthday cake was beautifully displayed and the table nicely set for a Birthday. The food was excellent as usual, just goes without saying. There were no delays delivering each course with people having to wait. My partner and I would like to pass our thanks to all the staff who have always made us feel very welcome. Particular thanks go to Rui who always gives 110% to make any visit into a special occasion.

Last minute booking ,fitted us in, even though they were obviously busy. All the staff are professional, cheerful and attentive. The food was amazing and a taste sensation. We had the goats cheese and scallop starter and both had sirloin steak. Neither of us could fault anything at all. My only downside is I was too full to enjoy all the homemade chips. Highly recommend and have been reminded what a wonderful asset this is to Retford.

Visited for lunch today. Excellent service, and very tasty home cooked food all at very reasonable prices. Also not to be missed, a huge selection of ice creams, absolutely delicious. We will definitely be returning

Absolute gem which we are thrilled we found. Good easy parking, fabulous menu of truly home cooked foods. Wide drinks list Beautiful inside with level access and patio area all over looking the run way. Staff friendly and efficient, dog friendly outside although when wind is high ( like today ) the patio is closed for safety which is fully understandable. Will definitely return if we are in the area
