Rondo Lounge in Bassetlaw

First visit and it was great. Had the grandchildren and they loved the play area. Staff were very relaxed with small people bobbing around. The breakfast was very good and additional coffees ordered arrived promptly. Well done.

Popped in for coffee and ended up staying for lunch too! Very friendly atmosphere, polite and efficient service, excellent choice of food, and lots of options for special diets. Good quality produce, well presented and in good time. Prices very reasonable. Dog and child friendly ☺️ will definitely be going again very soon. Would thoroughly recommend 😁

Went to visit here with my family, decided to have a coffee, but as the weather outside wasn't good we stayed for lunch too. Service was quite slow and despite seeing lots of staff I wondered what their purpose was. Food was nice but expensive for what you get. It's a nice place just seemingly slow, overall average in my opinion.

Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here ! We had a friendly welcome, the menu was varied and a little quirky…. Something different to the normal, but at really good prices. Our food came in good time , and was presented well and very tasty We were looked after but not harassed . We would definitely go back if we are in the area again

I've lived in Retford over 40 years and have never been into this building. Remember when it was HSS property sales, I was very impressed with the layout it's very nice with really good bar and waitres staff who dont leave you with cups and plates stacked when you've finished. A breakfast for 4 and coffees around £60.. Assuming many, many years ago, this was the auction house for cattle sales can tell by the huge ceiling glass as no electricity in them days and the cattle turning area far end of the building. Will say normal toilets are up 2 flights of stairs. You'll be working off a few calories before breakfast. Disabled toilet on the ground floor. Dogs are welcome in the seating dining area. It's the humans you should be cautious of. Very nice but pricey. Saying has disabled toilets, its incredibly old concrete steps leading into the front door, not sure of another entrance..

Popped in for a spot of lunch. Not busy so plenty of space. Menu's on the table. All clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. Good quick service. Would recommend.

Our first visit to the Rondo Louge. Met at the door by a friendly member of staff who explained the service. We found a table and chose our food from a very comprehensive menu. Ordered from the bar. Again the member of staff was very friendly and checked all allergy requirements. Prices were very reasonable. We have a dog and fresh water and biscuits were provided for him. The drinks arrived quickly and the food arrived before we'd drank much of our coffee. A great experience, the food was lovely, the ambience was ideal and staff attentive and friendly. Thoroughly recommend!!

Very nice food and place but put off by Staff dusting the ceiling/lights with a long pole while we were eating so could see all the dust floating around and we started sneezing, food is lovely but please don't dust the ceiling lights and windows while open, it's pretty disgusting while eating! The diet coke also tasted like apple too which was weird lol

An interesting menu and the food was very tasty and well-presented. The decor is very unusual - the only downside was the loud music, which was not to our taste but we both enjoyed our meals.

Love this bar, quirky great food. It's dog friendly and has great tapas. It's a little pricey for wine but beer is reasonably priced

Staff were really pleasant, food was flavourful but the portion sizes let it down for the price that was paid. Prawns arrived cold but was sorted quickly.

My sister and I recently visited and had a great time. The atmosphere was amazing and we loved the music playlist that they had on. The food we had was really good, along with the drinks. Would definitely recommend and will be visiting again.

The food is excellent, surpassed only by the friendly and efficient staff. We keep coming back. Also, as a family, we are on a 100% plant-based diet, so it's sometimes a challenge when eating out. The variety of available options at Rondo Lounge is more than adequate. The décor is interesting & tasteful, & the atmosphere is relaxing; children & pets are also welcomed.

Great tasty and healthy food enjoyed in a quirky decor restaurant. Cauliflower tapas was a little small for the price but the mains were really good and the ability to add notes/extras QR code orders is handy. Homemade soft drinks (pink lemonade and watermelon ice tea) tasted great too.

Not a bad lounge, went for a late lunch and wasn't disappointed. The app was taking some time to take the order, but no issues with main courses. The cola wasn't quite perfect and did taste a little different to what you'd expect. But when I ordered dessert we were forgotten about and I had to ask where they were after 20 minutes.

Rondo Lounge shows great strides to begining to show how restaurants in Retford should be run. Yes, it's part of the Loungers chain, and some might argue we should support local independent establishments. However, the unfortunate reality is that many local places in walking distance of the main town do not allow dogs, making it inconvenient for pet owners like myself who want to enjoy a meal without feeling rushed. While Rondo Lounge's chain status means there isn't much flexibility in changing the menu—resulting in a consistent but unvarying dining experience—a few specials here and there could certainly enhance their appeal. The prices are on the higher side, but considering the struggle many local eateries face, it's understandable. Rondo Lounge's ability to cater to dog owners sets it apart, creating a welcoming atmosphere that's often missing elsewhere. A standout feature is that they do offer a sausage for dogs, which is a great appeal and will undoubtedly attract more patrons who are pet owners. This small gesture not only draws in dog lovers but also encourages them to stay longer and order more food, knowing their pets are welcome and catered to. While I do appreciate a dog-friendly place, I also acknowledge that not all dogs are well-behaved. However, if you are a high-priced establishment, many of us responsible dog owners are still likely to brave the place. We tend to ensure our pets are well-mannered and won't disrupt the dining experience for others. Rondo Lounge strikes a good balance, providing a space where both dog owners and those without pets can enjoy their time comfortably. Rondo Lounge, with its pet-friendly policy and consistent quality, sets a high standard that other restaurants in Retford could benefit from emulating.

Had a fantastic meal here at the Rondo lounge at lunchtime today. Food was amazing. We had a brisket chilly and a chicken curry with garlic flatbread. Service was excellent.

Food was late and it was not even cocked properly I was verry up set because this is where we all like to come just feel like it has gone down hill a bit but hope it gets back to how we all like it and they are also leaving food on plates on table for gone half hour and walking past the table when they can relay take it with them to the kitchen

Nice enough. What you expect from a "Lounge". Feels a bit cavernous though with the decor. Garlic parmesan fries were a bit m'eh.

So close to 5 stars, food is a bit pricey but they have great offers at lunch time

Wow. What a great find for lunch today. Husband had Goan Lamb Curry which was delicious. I had an incredibly tasty Chimichurri Brisket Burger. Beautifully cooked by Chef Sam and excellent customer service from our server, Keeley. Thank you both. Great to see some very different things on a menu. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend

Saw this recommended on gluten free website. So glad we gave it a try whilst in area. Fabulous GF selection with a full Gluten Free dedicated menu. I had the GF Lounge breakfast, delicious with good quality sourced products, even the GF bread was nice. Food was served promptly and really hot and fresh. I would definitely recommend this establishment to anyone who is GF, I noticed they had a good vegan menu too. Staff were very welcoming and vert pleasant

Had soup and a sandwich at lunch, credit to Lance the chef the soup was so delicious, I highly recommend giving it a go.

Recommend as a must try... So we did. Very rarely do I leave reviews, but this place deserves one. Service was friendly, and even though the place was busy everyone made us welcome. To be fair I wasn't expecting anything special, it was a typical pub style menu with interesting choices. The food was lovely, well presented and far better than pub fair... I will return, and I wouldn't hesitate recommending this place to anyone. 10 out of 10

First visit today. Even though it was busy (Friday lunchtime), the staff were friendly and efficient. The HUGE menu offered something for everyone I would say, and our food was absolutely AMAZING. Well worth the money. We will DEFINITELY be visiting again and highly recommend.

Met the family for brunch. Food and service was good plenty to choose from from the menu. The children's area was a bit lacking today and our grandson was concerned about the dogs nearby. However we will go again.

Possibly one of the worst customer service experiences I can remember. From the moment I walked in, the FOH just looked and said someone over there can help you whilst just standing doing nothing and pointing vaguely towards another area of the restaurant. No greeting, no smile, no interest. I then sat near the bar and literally spent an hour and a half listening to the staff complain about how bored they were, how customers were idiots, how much they disliked other members of their team, swearing every other word and telling each other how tired they were and desperate for the customers to leave (at 9.15pm on a Tuesday night)! They either aren't trained, or are not motivated by the leadership (team leader on the night was one of the worst culprits). I rarely write a review on poor service, but this was on another level.

My chicken was a little dry but everyone else food was delicious

Brilliant restauraunt / café in the middle of Retford. We were served exceptionally quickly by the friendly staff, and the building is really pretty and clean inside. All rounded off by great food too, oh, and if you're a dog person, you'll likely see a few around as this place is dog-friendly!

Rhondo .. its like being home.. Were here at least 4 days a week for coffee and breakfast. The staff out outstanding and so are the food and drinks. Lyndsey had become a friend to my Grandaughter who loves coming in to play in the wonderful children's corner. Simply Rhondo and all it's staff are like a family and you feel it when you walk in.. My favourite place to go in Retford.. Well done guys Xxx

Dropped in as an impromptu idea. Children's menu along with the adults food and drink meant we could have a family evening. Toys, crayons, colouring sheet all for the kids so the adults could relax too! Tapas. Order 3 dishes each and share, would be my advice as they are just a nice size to do that with. That was this visit, at other times we have had burger and other main choices. Quality has always been the good and the service whilst perculiar to Rondo's is good; when ordering via the weblinked table QR code. You can order at the bar if required too, I've done that in the past.

The staff at Rondo's were friendly and welcoming. We visited on a Saturday lunchtime, reasonably busy restaurant, the service was timely and very efficient. We chose from the Christmas menu. The food was well cooked and nicely presented. Well seasoned and tasted good. One small observation on the plated food, it looked rather dull, could have benefited from a "lift" in colour in my opinion. Rondo's was a great choice for a seasonal get-together. Thoroughly recommended. Well done to the team at Rondo's.

Although the premises are a bit austere the food and service is 5 star. We've just been for a family birthday celebration (5 adults, 4 children) and had excellent service from the staff and the food was top notch. Highly recommended. 🙂

Absolutely love this place! Great choice of so many different dishes. Everything I tried there is very fresh and tasty. Tapas are the best. Cocktails are good and service is always friendly and quick.

Quick pre theatre meal and drink so we had not pre booked. Greeted by lovely friendly member of staff and able to choose our table as it was very quiet. Large varied menu, and we all chose different options . Food was average, but the staff and decor lovely so would return for drinks .
