Only stopped for a pint. Seemed nice. I've had a meal in here also. The tables were set out nicely, enough that my OAP friends could easily hear what was being said. Food was good. We weren't looking for a cheap meal. I thought that we found it reasonable. Always a pleasant setting for a quick pint.

Great place . Me and my wife stopped in for lunch. Some really nice decorations and furniture. Friendly staff . Good service. I would recommend some improvements to the food . Burger overcooked . Chips triple socked in oil over cooked . Cheese over powered the food . Sauce in small packets . Make some changes and it would be 5 stars .

I loved the decor the 1930/40s music . Fabulous service , clean and politeness from the minute you walk through the door till you leave . Home made food and cooked superbly. Opposite the Theatre Royal so a good place to eat before show or after show when a matinee is on. Totally a no 1 place for food and drink

Had another delicious meal at Perkins when we visited last week. It doesn’t matter what you choose from the menu you know that you will never be disappointed. Staff, as always, were friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend a visit. We’ll be back for our anniversary next year, if not before.

Overly salted, overly beige, overly mushy: a peculiar and unsatisfying experience. On entering Alchemilla you will immediately be assailed by the sound. Vaulted brickwork, polished concrete floors, and no soft furnishings whatsoever creates an aggressively brash, clattering environment which reminds more of a school canteen than a sophisticated setting for a tasting menu. The meal itself was unfortunately largely forgettable: a parade of soggy mush in various shades of brown and beige, each saltier than the last. The plating seemed contrived rather than inventive, with the added swirls and dollops of sauce (all brown, naturally) adding visual clutter instead of flair. The flavours were happily quite interesting and varied, but too often drowned out by a frankly baffling amount of salt. The service was attentive if slightly impersonal. An interesting choice to call every small plate a snack (instead of amuse-bouche, hors d'œuvre, palate cleansers, petits fours, etc.) which elicited a few chuckles from nearby tables. Overall one of the more disappointing tasting menus and dining experiences I've had.
