The best restaurants serving British food in East Midlands

Third visit and as always extremely polite and friendly staff. Only nipping in for a drink however, wife asked if they had any Scones and decided to indulge. I decided to indulge in Greek waffle. Not a great fan but, this has given new view on these. Good value for money, definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been there yet.

Small menu but everything we had was very very good. And reasonably priced. And a lovely spot looking over the lawn. What’s not to like

Cordial bienvenida en este pequeño hotel de gestión privada. Engañosamente amplio aparcamiento en la parte trasera del hotel. Habitación cómoda y buena comida. El pequeño bar satisface los requisitos para la mayoría de admirablemente y el salón es más que adecuada para un hotel pequeño. Durante mi estancia allí fueron alojados y todos los pilotos consultados felizmente disfrutando del ambiente de camaradería. Gran relación calidad-precio y lo recomiendo.

RUDE! I was quite taken aback by just how rude the lady was who served me and my daughter lunch. Every request was answered with a terse ‘no!’ She had quite a bad attitude and it turned our meal quite sour. It’s a shame as all the reviews I had read spoke so highly of the place. We won’t be back.

Went to a charity event their hosted by a family member. Manager very rude didn't want to help very poor customer skills. Appalling behaviour. I asked if they had a knife to scrape toppings off my niece pizza she said no when l asked for a spoon or fork l was told no again then when l responded with my sister ordered food my young niece of 4 dont like the topping she huffed and puffed and said she had to go upstairs as the kitchen was upstairs then rudely harshly gave the knife to me. Even heard her moaning about us in the back room which was where the fundraising event was held. This is not the first time of going to this pub and being treated rudely and a spoken to with attitude by the manager. Other staff are lovely.

Just what we needed halfway through our hike. Lovely pot of hot and tasty tea, with a roll for lunch. The sausage rolls were excellent too. They close on a Saturday at 1pm, so we just made it.

Fabulous Sunday lunch! I had the pithivier which was a great veggie option and my new favorite thing. My partner had the beef roast which was equally fabulous. Top class food and service. We will be back!

We were served by Simone and I have to say the the service was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We both had Sunday Roast and it was well cooked and nicely presented.

Great poached eggs on toast really fresh delicious eggs My husband had the little tickler breakfast really enjoyed. This included x2 hash browns, toast, x2 saugages, mushrooms, baked beans, eggs and hit tomato sauce.

Nunca he probado comida india que viene cerca de lo increíble era ajays. He estado yendo con mis padres durante muchos años y estoy muy triste que han cerrado hace un par de años ahora, por favor volver!

I come here on weekly basis with my children, for playgroup and some food at the cafe, I absolutely love it and would recommend to everyone. Such nice staff, lovely warm environment the food is outstanding and at very reasonable prices, the kids love it, got a nice soft play area for them to run around in whilst I can sit and chill with a hot drink. Would definitely pop in, whether it's with kids, yourself or friends, just for a morning/afternoon out.

Went there on Tuesday and no table for one hour which was understandable as we hadn't pre booked, told they had been busy as had an audit. Did get a table one hour later, ordered and told two types of steak sold out so had to go for the most expensive as now too late to go anywhere else. Our order then lost, so had to re-order and when arrived it was cool. Fries were replaced but we stayed with the steak and it was cooked nicely but must have been resting for a long time as cold and again it was now getting quite late. The bill arrived and was double the amount so had to get it amended. Overall very, very poor that a steak house ran out of steaks and served cold food. Sandra served us, she was new but very apologetic and worked hard to get issues resolved. Very impressed with her.

Tucked away in a beautiful area, lovely food and great service. I can imagine it particularly appealing and cosy in a Winter evening with the log fire on. I'll be coming back. 🙂

Cute little pub, cosy atmosphere, as a vegetarian not many choices, there was a mistake on our order but the staff were attentive and quickly fixed it, overall a lovely visit
