We attended on Friday 27th and to be honest we had to eat with our coats on as it was very cold in the restaurant, not ideal and spoilt our evening

A great pub with private parking, good ales and friendly locals... No food on a Sunday night but we were encouraged to get a Chinese takeaway from the Kowloon opposite to eat in the restaurant and were provided with plates and cutlery ... Lovely B&B with an excellent breakfast in the morning...It's on my repeat list next time we come to Snetterton circuit....

The Nag's Head kindly hosted a birthday buffet for a 90 year old gentleman. 15 elderly villagers had a wonderful time and the food was wonderful. There was enough to send everyone home with food for tea!! The staff were extremely accommodating.

Excellent beer, service, food and hospitality. The food is varied and made with high quality ingredients. The service is very friendly and timely making it and excellent venue for either lunch and dinners. A must go to place if you are in the area of Northampton, Wellingborough, Rushden and even worth a trip from further afield. 10/10 all round

I highly recommend this place for food and a lovely evening drink in the garden. I booked a table in the restaurant for a Friday night. The food was delicious. I had the seafood linguini off the specials menu, hubby had the sausage and mash and a friend had something else. We all thought our food was delicious. It was so good For pudding I had the sticky toffee pudding and the other 2 had biscoff cheesecake, once again so delicious The staff were friendly, when u returned my lemonade because it was just soda water they fixed it and brought a new one.

Went for a birthday celebration meal. Food was fantastic. All the staff were friendly and smiling. Made for a very pleasant evening.

The staff were nice, we visited on a sunday we did not like the cabbage which was very peppery which was not to our taste, the french beans had gone over which made them extremely chewy , the carrots and cauluflower cheese which was extra was nice.

Fabulous food and great service

Called in for dinner having umpired a cricket match down the road. Very pleasant dining area with some menu staples alongside some slightly more unusual choices. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Large car park however access appears to be only through the front door with steps up. We will call again.

We had our reception there last November. They were brilliant then and we've been back at least 8 plus times to either down as a couple or with groups of friends. Food is excellent, service is great!

My vegan burger wasn't enjoyable. I've tasted much better. The crumble wasn't anything special. Others in the group had mixed views and a return here wasn't mentioned at all. Another venue has been selected for the next meal.

We went as a lunchtime group of about 15. We had pre booked our meals. Meals on the main menu seemed quite pricey, however we were able to work around this as some of our group had chosen meals from the children’s menu and others had either jacket potatoes or sandwiches and chips. My child’s steak and chips was nothing short of delicious (just the right amount for lunchtime) and everyone enjoyed their chosen meal. Deserts were scummy and I had the best sticky toffee pudding I’ve ever eaten!! Staff were great, very cheerful and helpful, however they were very busy and we had a long wait between first course and desert. Lovely place, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

An impromptu visit to this pub on our way home proved a great choice. Despite them obviously being busy they soon found us a table. The roast belly pork was absolutely delicious, a very generous portion which just melted in the mouth. We couldn't resist the Eton mess for dessert but had to share as we knew we couldn't manage one each! A real little gem 10mins from home so we'll definitely be back.

Another fabulous experience here last night with a group of neighbours. Food superb as always. Service great by awesome staff always accommodating. The very warm welcome and adios is appreciated. Led by the incredible Gente.

Staff on duty at the pub in the afternoon of Tuesday 30 April were so helpful, kind, friendly and well- informed that I felt very 'at home', which is not always obvious as a single woman. They were busy but made the time to have a chat with me and to talk me through prices and through the extensive menu! Thank you. It makes me feel happy to return and to try the yummy-sounding food! My only slightly negative comment would be that the lunchtime sandwich menu is limited, most especially for vegetarians, which I am! That would be even more difficult if I was lactose or dairy intolerant! Cheese and chutney sandwich is neither enticing/imaginative nor very exciting and could be difficult, as intimated, for some people ! Try a hummus or egg &?? , or avocado etc sandwich. That's not difficult! Otherwise, there are fab choices for all diets and some very interesting food. Bravo to the owner, also the Chef! Maggie

Start with the positives. Food was amazing. I had the tempura prawns to start, venison (cooked to perfection) for main and crumble for dessert, nowhere near enough custard as they plonk it on top, needs to be in a little jug on the side. The ambience... It's a rowdy bar on one side, the staff are all teenagers, one was only 15. The room itself is "cold" and was cold actually. Dark green panelling makes it worse. The table layout was more chip shop restaurant than "£18 main course a la cart" Car park didn't have disabled parking so it was a bit of a walk to our car. Clear signage for the "restaurant" side would be nice to prevent my disabled partner having to use the steps and then walk through " the builder's bar". We won't be returning unfortunately, even though the food was really good... Maybe you will enjoy it 🤷 Cheers 🥂

Popped in on the off chance for a quick business lunch, wasnt busy, thought it might be closed - turns out was really nice, friendly staff, good beer choices and a super meal that was probably cooked by a real chef. Pub has been renovated so pleasant inside too. Recommended, will visit again. Drink, coffee, main course under £25pp

Visited on the 15th April for lunch. Staff were excellent food was great and well priced as were the drinks. Can fully recommend and if I'm in the area again I will definitely visit. Thank you also for the two beer glasses given to us with the compliments of the manager, very kind of you.

this is our second visit, sadly this time around we found the menu to be very ordinary especially the chefs special, but worst still was the service by the waitresses huddled in a group behind the bar chit chatting away, not very professional, twice I mentioned it was my wife's birthday and again this was not picked up on, something simple with the desert would have been appreciated a sparkler at least, to make the evening special, i have highly recommended these before sadly its now slipped somewhat

Lovely food and friendly service. This pub has a more interesting menu than the usual pub fair. I can recommend the calves liver and my friend had the scrumptious looking roasted belly pork with crackling. Our portions were generous especially when it came to the sticky toffee pudding. Would definitely come again.

We had a wonderful birthday celebration for my Husband. We had 20 guests and arranged to have the function room at the back of the pub. The food came out perfectly, especially as we all had something different and was delicious. I would like to say thank you to George who was our waiter and looked after us and made it a special day.

We used the function room for my wife's birthday party for family and close friends.... It was an amazing night where the entire team at the Nags Head were superb and went over and above my expectations... Highly recommended.. we will use it again on other notable occasions... Brilliant

This is my 3rd visit and each time we have taken different friends! Each time we have eaten here our meals have been delicious! Today I had the Venison which was beautifully cooked! Back to basics but a good old fashioned pub with good food and service. Reasonably priced too. Glad it's back from forays into fine dining. It would be nice if they could bring back the music venue from yesteryear. Wife enjoyed her burger and I enjoyed my lamb shank.

We have just moved into the village and have been here twice now and the food and service has been fantastic. We had a Sunday roast today and it was beautiful, with all of our party commenting on how well everything had been cooked. The team of employees were all brilliant too. I look forward to coming back.

Comfortable warm atmosphere. Although I would suggest for you’re staff to ask if persons on the table have allergies to any food, we weren’t asked and the menu did not state the ingredients I was allergic to and I came out with it on the plate to had to send it back. Other than that the food was lovely once sorted.

Cannot fault the Staff, all were brilliant and looked after us well. Afraid I was disappointed with the food, went for the Christmas Menu, have had better roast dinners from Greene King at half the price.

Good quality food served promptly. Decent portion size too. Went for a Sunday roast with partner. She had roast beef, I had their Three Meat Roast (beef, chicken and pork). Both came with roast potatoes, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and gravy. All cooked to perfection and good portions. I think we may have found a new regular eatery!

An agreeable place for Sunday lunch which inspires us to return in the future. A large menu catering for all tastes. Recommended. Well worth a visit.

Didn't enjoy the vegetarian dinner. I did give polite feedback to a member of staff on the day and emailed the Nags head the next day about it. Sadly, the feedback was not accepted by the management and I was given a glib response.

Freezing dining room was not a promising start, and the two girls on bar/restaurant duty were very friendly but very wrapped up in their own agenda talking between themselves rather than responding to customers trying to attract their attention. food was ok nothing special which was a shame as would only take a little bit of care and attention to make it special, thin k they need to look at improving customer service and food prep and we would certainly return as loved the decor etc but until that has improved wont be happening !

We booked the upstairs room to celebrate our wedding on Friday 3rd November 2023. We and our guests had a fantastic time celebrating our special day. Absolutely wonderful Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were brilliantly attentive, helpful and friendly. We were a large group (10) and ate in their lovely private dining room. It rounded off our weekend away perfectly.

Came here for the Sunday lunch as a group of friends/couples with a baby and multiple dietary requirements. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Excellent service, the roasts were delicious. They have excellent gluten free choices as well as vegetarian. We will definitely come again!

Staff veey welcoming. Food pretty standard I felt very overpriced, lacked taste, and was not very hot. I didn't think much to having to pay extra for stuffing and cauliflower cheese, which you would expect with sunday roast.

What an absolute gem. Sunday lunch was the best. There were four of us and all had a different dish, each one superb. The restaurant was spotless, the amenities spotless. The staff were the most amiable we have met in a long time. The menu was the best we’ve seen in a long, long time and the quality and presentation of the food was as good, if not better, than any Michelin starred restaurant. At least 6 stars. The people of Wollaston and surrounding areas are so lucky. Excellent

Good food, good atmosphere, just a nice place to go.

Lovely Billingsgate Platter, consisting of Whitebait, Panko Prawns, Calamari and Cod Goujons. All delicious and non greasy. The Calamari in particular was so tender, not chewy or rubbery and a real treat.

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here, the staff were so attentive without being overbearing. Everyone was nice in the pub, I will definitely go back 😁

Being in a wheelchair it is sometimes a little difficult to find a nice restaurant. but George & Marie made it so easy for us today, we couldn't have met two nicer people. The food is delicious , I must say its the best fish and chips I have had for a long time, and the Sea Bass was also very good. It's fractionally more than you might pay in other places, but it really is worth every penny. The icing on the cake for us was the background music , all the hits from the 60's music we grew up with. Really great pub, great service, great food , we will as the saying goes Be Back Rob Stone

Went specifically for the ‘Fish Night’. We were not disappointed. The scallops in garlic, lemon butter and whitebait are highly recommended. Opted for the Lobster for our main and it was to die for. This place has recently re-opened as The Nag following a name change for a few years. So glad it’s back! Pricing fair, good selection offered on the menu, staff all lovely and attentive to give you that wonderful dining experience.

Food good, but too many staff, we ate early evening, staff who were happy to chit chat about all & everything in the restaurant, leaning on the bar, discussing where they had been to get supplies . Maybe get a staff room for this. I love teamwork but this was not professional, well not for me. Maybe look at staff rotas and spread them out better. Also again for us, When trying the med vibe, allow people more time between courses. Eating is not a race. No matter what time of day.
