The Crown & Anchor in Wellingborough

Obviously yet another pub staying afloat through food, which I didn't have. 8.30 Friday I was customer #4. Community seem to be absent, poss because a Guinness is £5.20 (Mar 2024). Seems nice enough otherwise but no people = no atmosphere. At least it's here, Wellingborough not exactly spoilt for choice pubwise these days.

Friendly staff good food thanks for accommodating the 2 coaches for the 2 hours we were there.

The crowns an old established pub. Meals,Three courses £09:99 Nice home made meals apart from pat'e. Portions not large but ok for the price. Nice friendly staff.would definitely go back. Menu changes regularly.

I visited this place with friends who live next door and it turned out to be a great place - we found live music and dancing. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, smiling and ready to help. Dogs are allowed and there is a garden for smokers

Always a great local pub. Clean, friendly, good food. Regular local bands.

Going through cancer recovery and dealing with court summons for coming in for a drink and parking in the free carpark.

Dont use this pub there running a parking scam bought several drinks and there left, parking ticket through given evidence with reciept as purchased drinks has been ignored by parking company pub dont want to know, court summons £140 wont be taking friends or family back here. Whole load of stress to deal with court now, its happened to a friend of ours too. SORT IT OUT

Friendly community pub. About 3/4 of a mile from town centre (to the west), and also to the railway station (to the north). Usually one real ale on. Closed Mondays.

Very busy, good beer & nice garden.

The crown pub was so kind as to provide us with free chips and drink for a while during the pandemic whilst working at isebrook hospital, so I really appreciated that. I went here with some friends to celebrate a birthday on a Friday night. The ladies behind the bar were very accommodating with waiting for us to order food. I think the juke box had issues with my song choice though as it seemed to play my selection more quiet than all the rest of the other songs

Great staff always make you feel welcome. Everything you need or expect from a pub and then some. Always a great experience when I go that's for sure and I'm no regular. Haven't tried the food but plan to as I've heard great things. Also great garden and very child friendly at food times

Old style British pub with a good choice of lagers& beers

It was quiet when we went in, but they served a lovely pint and the staff were friendly.

I hadn't been in the Crown for a few years, I was very pleasantly surprised how it had changed. It was impeccable in Decor and cleanliness. The staff were great and the ambience wonderful. Had a great night out there.

Lovely pub, we attended a quiz here which was very difficult but a lot of fun.

I went over for a quick drink whilst my family stayed local in our garden. I went to see if the volume would have changed knowing someone was ringing to ask why the music always has to be so loud, the locals can’t relax inside or outside of their homes. We won’t be going over there to support them if there is no regard for the community.

Came here for a retirement party..lovely large garden beautifully spotless bar areas and great staff Landlord and lady fabulous couple so friendly.. this won't be our last visit..next time will be back for a meal see you soon x

We went there for the first time and had Sunday lunch, food was lovely and the landlord and lady were so welcoming. However, as its such a small pub didn't realise you had to pay to park and got a £100 parking ticket and we were only there 45 min. Won't be going back

Helen & Mark ,landlords give Excellent service and lovley place to chill out . Meals are buy booking only and covid rules in place . Good for outdoor music or events with social disstancing is in place xxx

Had a lovely evening at the Crown spending an hour and a half with friends in the pub garden, however this was all shot to pieces by the subsequent £60 parking fine that I received for parking the pub car park!!!!!!! Won’t ever be visiting this pub again, absolutely disgraceful

Stopped here for a meal, mainly because other places we went to were massively busy as expected for a Sunday lunchtime. Why haven't we been here before!?! Amazing Sunday Lunch, well cooked and tasty! Really friendly staff, lovely décor. Not a long wait for food either. Good sized beer garden, with covered areas. We will definitely be coming here again!

Ordered 1 double Morgan’s spiced and coke, got approached by some specky kid from behind the bar on a power trip. Said I haven’t paid for my two drinks vodkas to be precise. (See earlier, just the one drink I ordered, also rum...) embarrassingly called me out in front of peers, don’t get me wrong £10 isn’t going to break the bank but without any proof I had “walked away without paying” then saying he had served me, which Was another lie as although he looked like he hadn’t hit puberty yet im pretty sure it was a female serving me... disgusting service. Hope someone can actually explain how this was justified

Friendly staff, good beer, a great selection of spirits, what more could you need? It takes the typical pub bub and gives you a place you can call "my local". You can find a nice selection of ales, stouts, largers, with a great selection of cocktails to try. Food is served lovingly craft for a home pub feel at certain times and of course, sky sports is available to watch when the matches matter.

I visited The Crown yesterday afternoon with my husband and 2 friends as I had heard there was new management running it. The staff were really friendly and it was great to get served straight away. We had not been to this pub for a couple of years as we were not impressed last time we went. There is a great selection of Beers & Gins. We were very impressed and will definitely go back.

Just had a lovely Sunday Roast,Mark and Helen are amazing host and will do anthing they can to accommodate, they have a lovely garden which is dog friendly

We visit here regularly with our children and meet friends here too. Mark and Helen are so welcoming and accommodating. Nothing is too much effort and they surround the place in such a happy atmosphere. The food has never been anything but perfect and again Helen will change and adapt anything needed so you enjoy your meal.100% recommend!

A nice friendly public house offers a good range of beers and spirits and soft drinks the restaurant was closed for my visit as the owners were away and a friend was running the pub in there absence she was very friendly and pleasant and was keeping the place in a presentable way

This pub has had new owners and they have freshened the place up and made it more family friendly ( kids aloud) nice choice of beers on tap and freshly cooked food , big garden they often have the bbq going and they have live sports on the tv, pool table , nice friendly couple with a warm welcome

Friendly staff, very clean, and a fairly old fashioned 'community' feel. Ideal for the people of Wellingborough and the surrounding areas.

Fantastic family orientated pub, amazing owners nothing is too much trouble always happy to help. It's the little touches that go a long way. Will be coming back.

Friendly staff and hood tasting lager at correct temperature. New manager has certainly made improvements

New staff seemed friendly and accommodating - when asked if they were serving lunch they said they'd just taken over so were in the process of sorting menus etc but would see what they could do. Nice baguette with quality filling, side salad and nachos. Very good.

Me and my partner went for some lunch and we haven't been to the crown in years, staff welcomed us and was very polite, good prices on the drinks and the food was lovely! Nice lamb shank and roasties 👍

We ate Sunday Lunch at Phill's Kitchen and were blown away by the very high standard of cuisine. The portions were extremely generous, the meat was delicious cooked to perfection, the roasted vegetables tasted amazing. The desserts were absolutely scrumptious served with either ice cream, fresh cream or custard, simply tantalizingly 'yummy'. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone who enjoys fresh wholesome food cooked traditionally to give Phill's Kitchen at The Crown a try.
