Went today and as usual delightful and helpful staff. Went for the Christmas Market and it was bigger and better than last year. Had to drag the wife away. We'll be going back.

Awful service, and the roast dinner definitely did not make up for it! Avoid. Plenty of options across Northants for a decent roast. This place is overrated.

Unusually very poor performance in service. It did not appear very busy when we arrived, yet we waited over 25 minutes for delivery of coffee. And despite placing a lunch order early, this was also so very late in delivery. A second order of coffee was also very slow and we were on the point of deciding to leave when it arrived. This not what we have previously experienced, but was seemingly very disorganised.

We booked in and given an electric buzzer to say when our table was ready, while we went shopping found everything we came for. Never heard communication re table, quite noisy but evidently buzzed. This is when things slowed down, ordered our hot drinks and afternoon tea. Coffees arrived the young waitress was very busy on her entering till, our hot drinks getting cold. Still we waited another 45 minutes for our food!!evidently the staff are either to busy taking other orders from the tables then entering on a computer till, a bit inefficient time wise, not a great service food had better value. We love a tea shop in Brampton smaller but quality and service very good.

It's no surprise the restaurant is busy, it's fantastic! We visited on a Saturday morning, and it was busy, but the staff were really attentive and service was quick. Breakfast was served hot and fresh with everything well cooked. They use good quality ingredients and cook them well, hash browns were crispy, black pudding had a crunch on the outside and soft though the middle, really tasty sausages. Very happy and will return.

So disappointing. I have loved coming here for years but the standard of the food in the restaurant has dropped significantly. I would say many parts of dishes now bought in preprepared else where. Missing that fresh element of quality ingredients. I do understand costs have to rise, happy to pay the new prices for the previous quality but fear I will be taking my business else where. Changes on menu also disappointing, Sunday Roasts, hardly a traditional roast on the list, used to offer a small plate, roast pork etc. Chicken Caesar Salad, chicken dry, dressing not a Caesar dressing and throwing on pre cut Parmesan not good enough at that price. Bacon obviously pre cooked else where, guessing eggs too. At least they had the correct lettuce. Coleslaw looked dolloped out of bought box, I loved the kitchen prepped stuff they did before. As for the shop, still interstesting selection but too much on the shop floor, the clothes range just hideous. So surprised to find my self dissatisfied with Beckworth. 🥲

Gone down in quality since being took over, too much crammed into the halls can't shop or look properly. Had 4 afternoon teas ,price £20.00 each !! Not worth money ,2 small bowls of crisps ,between 4, 2 slices bread cut into 4 strips , 4 cakes size of petit four and scone.(each) I had veggie option cakes were dry ,no veggie butter or cream offered for scone. Supposed to be unlimited filter coffee , where you would think either someone comes around offering it or better still put pots on table , no you had to get 1 of the servers and they then had to order it , took quite a while appreciate they were busy but... Been before take over few times and enjoyed, not so this time , probably better to pop down road to Aldi get all the ingredients yourself and do your own afternoon tea , would definitely work out a lot cheaper 😥

This morning I took my wife to the restaurant for a birthday breakfast. Having been to other garden centres and not very impressed with the food I was a bit apprehensive. On arrival it was a bright, warm open area with comfortable furnishings. We were welcomed and seated quickly. Table was clean and had fully stocked condiments. My wife ordered the eggs benedicts. I ordered the full breakfast. Food came quickly and was hot. All parts of the breakfast tasted freshly cooked. Sausages were cooked well with a lovely peppered after taste. Eggs runny, but just the right amount. Bacon had a great smoked flavour. There was also two hash browns, beans, mushrooms and side order of two toast. I particularly liked the salted butter. Honestly I struggled to finish the meal. My wife said her meal was cooked perfectly. I could'nt fault it. Excellent meal. If you want high quality food in a warm vibrant setting then this is the place to go. Thank you.

Visited Beckworths on many occasions. I can't fault the food at all. Always well presented and top quality. I visited for a Sunday breakfast with friends. My friends were there before me and went to get a table. My friends wife is disabled and decided to walk but struggled. They arrived in plenty of time to be seated and order from the breakfast menu. They were asked to sit and wait despite 80% of the tables being empty. We were seated after the breakfast menu was taken off, forcing us to order from the lunchtime menu. We were a little put out as we couldn't see anywhere of time slots for arriving/ordering breakfast. Of course, had it been past 11am, we knew breakfast would be finished.

This is a most incredible place with a garden centre, massive gift shop with unusual and good quality merchandise, an incredible food section and a wonderful restaurant, not forgetting the large car park. The restaurant does get busy around lunch time but they do have a pager system whereby you can go shopping and it will beep to let you know your table is available, so waiting shouldn't be a big issue. I have been here quite often since my first visit earlier this year. Today the weather was so horribly cold, wet and miserable my husband and I went for coffee & cake. Our waitress was the lovely Carys who remembered us from last time which surprised us as they get so many people pass through but the really surprising thing was that I realised they must have Angels in their kitchen! I had the Honey cake and I believe it was the most wonderful cake I have ever tasted (which is something from someone who has travelled extensively with cake always on the 'Oooh! Must try' list). I am now forever spoiled because I don't believe anything will ever stand up to it's perfection. Something tells me I will be soon back for my Christmas shopping (several times) which will entail more coffee & cake.

Visited for afternoon tea. So so disappointing. Beckworths afternoon tea used to be excellent. Previously there were quality sandwich fillings (salmon, brie etc) and quality cakes. Now they have increased the price and changed the presentation but decreased the quality. fillings whilst some traditional are extremely low budget (e.g. egg mayo, thin cucumber, cheese). The previous presentation was quite unique to beckworths (slate with sandwiches in middle, cakes down the side and crisps on top) but now they’ve conformed to what everyone else does (tiered stands). Essentially what they’ve done is tried to make it look ‘posher’ but actually delivering a basic and budget afternoon tea. Previously approx £25 for 2 and now it’s £20 pp. the cakes / desserts used to be really lovely quality. I couldn’t quite believe one of them was literally a meringue with squirty cream and a blackberry on top. Sad to see a once quality establishment has now changed their business model to basically ripping people off.

First off, it’s a great garden centre/farm shop with lots of different varieties of plants, gifts, sweet & savoury food options. However, the afternoon tea experience wasn’t what we expected. The food was lovely, but we were there for about 2 - 2 1/2 hours. We got seated and no one came over for a good 20 minutes. We ordered the afternoon tea for two & 2 smoothies. Another 45 mins passed before we received our drinks, and then again about another 10 before the afternoon tea came over. The smoothies were no where to be seen. I asked a waiter who said he will check but nothing. Another 15-20 mins or so we asked again to be told they weren’t even on the order so we decided to leave them. When we were finished we asked for a box (so we could take the remainder home) & the bill. The boxes came but no bill. I had to ask another waitress for it again. I understand it is busy however, there just didn’t seem to be any urgency to order peoples foods and it seemed a bit slack on service. Food was great and I would return in hope of better/quicker service.

We often visit here. Its was one of our favourite places. Unfortunately been taken over and the cafe/restaurant seems to be suffering. The menu changes they have made to save money are not good. The grazing plater always a favourite now it changed and not for the better with less and I think less quality. The pate one is the same no garden pickles with it just some mixed pickle in a ramekin. Salad of but didn't appear to be as fresh as previous. Burgers have changed now in cheep buns again cut backs. The items on sale have changed and the new cloths department is it needed? The reduced sections by the till make the place look very untidy and not at all the standards we have experienced over the years previously. Please don't ruin this place make it what it was.

Lovley staff & a delightful choice of products within the store, but my god, the food? Run a mile!! We were heavily debating departing from this branch, but decided we should stay, because Harvester was over half an hour from us and we were hungry. Upon reading the menu, you are shown prices that you would expect to see good quality food in return, however what we were given was a cheap frozen patty, about 14 chips and some form of coleslaw that looked like it had actually been retrieved from the ruins of the Costa Concordia! Now- I’m aware that industries are out to make a profit, that’s obvious, but why on earth charge £15 for a burger that isn’t of quality to be priced at that. I’ve been to cheaper places and had proper beef patties, if we wanted a thin slice of watered down beef juice we would have gone to the local burger van! Overall, we were distressed by this situation. My mother actually choked on the bun, it was far too large for what little beef was provided. A disgrace, a shambles & a downright rip off, however, the staff were nice and it isn’t their fault that capitalism has taken control and put them in such a situation that poor quality food is sold for foul prices. A real shame, we won’t return, not for the food anyway, we enjoyed the free water. Thank the stars.

I was extremely disappointed with the service in such a lovely establishment. My friend ordered a panini which was not as described on the menu, the lovely staff members were so helpful and offered a new one free of charge. However the manager then stormed over saying that she would then be charged for 2 paninis as it will not be replaced?! I just think how silly to leave your customer unhappy and forced to eat what she was given as it couldn’t be replaced for free. Even an establishment like McDonald’s would replace your food for you ! Won’t be returning to the cafe unfortunately.

As a group of friends we have been meeting regularly at Beckworth for many years. We always had great service and food. Our recent visits this year have made us question whether to finding a different venue. We have noticed portion size is smaller, with quality not as good. Afternoon tea is definitely not as good. There seems to be less staff. If that is not the case then the staff they have need to be trained better as waiting times for ordering, food arrival and getting attention to pay, is too long. Today we asked 3 times for our bill and had to wait over 25 minutes. Other customers had same complaint. On arrival we asked to sit outside, as it was a lovely day and a little warm inside. We were told that outside was not open. We questioned another member of staff, who said we could sit outside but she didn’t know if there was staff to work the section. Overall our recent visits have left us with the feeling that there has been lots of cost cutting. This will lose Beckworth loyal customers. They have definitely lost our custom. Which is a shame as it was such a great venue.

I recently visited Beckworth Emporium with my kids, and while the store has a lot of attractive offerings, I was extremely disappointed with my purchase. I spent over £50 on less than five items, including a pack of Hambleton's caramelised onion sausages. Unfortunately, these sausages were filled with gristle and fat, making them inedible. Given the high price tag and the store's reputation as a luxury farm shop, I expected much better quality. I won’t be purchasing from Beckworth Emporium again, especially not their butcher's meat. It's unfortunate, as the shop has a lot of potential for other customers, but this experience has left me very dissatisfied.

I live in a village 5 minutes away so this is somewhere we used to come fairly regularly. Since it has been taken over, I have visited twice and had similar poor experiences both times (this time being the second.) I went with a friend for brunch on a weekend. We didn’t have a huge order, just 1 drink, and 1 meal each. We were told it would be a half an hour wait on food which wasn’t an issue. However…after 5 minutes my friends food arrived. She wasn’t asked if she wanted any sauces and we were still waiting for our drinks. 10 minutes passed, my friend was half way through her food and mine still was nowhere to be seen..and we still didn’t have drinks. I then had to get up and find a waitress to ask where the rest of our meal was. By the time I got my food, my friend had finished hers. My food was bought to the table and the waitress hurried off. I then had to get up again to ask for a spoon to eat my breakfast with. I appreciate it was a weekend and it’s going to be busy however their timings of bringing food/drink out needs some serious attention and fixing. I won’t be back in a hurry, will be travelling further afield for brunch.

The best breakfast so far. We meet monthly for breakfast as a group of friends and nothing has come close. Great atmosphere, great quality but it is expensive. I would come here every month!

The afternoon tea has reduced in quality since being taken over. Cheese , egg and cress, cheap ham a dry scone are not up to the standard in the past the cakes were nothing like those in the display cabinet

Went here for breakfast with friends who had suggested it. It was very busy but we managed to get a decent table ok. The cooked breakfast was very good as was the service. We will definitely return.

Went for afternoon tea with my wife, we had a lovely time the staff were friendly as always and there was the usual array of fresh fruit and veg, breads and sweet treats. The problem is ( as others have mentioned) the food in the restaurant both quality and presentation isn’t quite what it used to be before the takeover. Additionally, the toilets were a bit shabby in terms of tidiness and hygiene (something that would not of been the case previously). Hope it’s just teething issues, for the restaurant which will be addressed, it’s one of the main draws to the site and the new menu does not seem to be impressing thus far.

Great service, and the food was exceptional value for money. Clean W.C. Friendly and curious staff. The food was piping hot, and the coleslaw chilled. The food arrived very quickly considering how busy it was. ☆☆☆☆☆

Went on a Saturday morning on a bank holiday weekend and was pleasantly surprised how quickly we got seated. The waitress was very polite and took our drinks and food orders. The wait for drinks was pretty bad, our cooked breakfasts arrived before our drinks but I assume the breakfast is all cooked and just put to the plate so this is why it came quicker. When the food did arrive it looked appetising and was quite tasty but one thing that let it down was the temperature of the food. Most of it all was luke warm and butter for the toast was rock solid like it was straight out of the fridge and as the toast wasn't hot it wasn't spreadable. Out of the three eggs we received between the two orders two of them were riddled with egg shells which was not particularly pleasant. Overall I think the breakfast was okay but I have had a lot better locally so that's the reason for giving it only 3 stars, there is quite a lot of room to improve.

Not particularly impressed with the food side of things since the takeover. Issues a couple of weeks ago resulted in me receiving a £10 sorry voucher. Today the breakfast was ok but the bacon had obviously been cooked a while ago and the mushrooms were from a frozen packet. Why, when you are in a farm shop and can get fresh. I only went again to please my wife but no more!

Nice array of goods at ridiculous prices....... £36 for a frozen ready meal, £4.10 for a loaf of bread. Don't get me wrong, I'm a chef by trade so I do know a thing or two. The butchery here is quality but again comes with the addition of the Beckworth mark up. On the flip side the restaurant is fairly priced and the food is really good, the service very good too. I'll definitely be returning and I highly recommend a visit. I then moved onto the Outdoor Furniture event. I was particularly interested in BBQ accessories. I had fingers crossed hoping that an establishment like this would stock in particular Kamado and Kamado style BBQ's and accessories. NOPE just the trendy fire pits, and Gas rubbish. When I spoke to the lady advising there she had never heard of Kamado or Kamado style!. However they do carry a nice range of lumpwood charcoal, that I will be purchasing when my Kamado has finished it current supply. UPDATED MAY 2023 KAMADO'S NOW STOCKED.

The Garden Deli was a little hidden gem in Nene Court with a lovely outside seating area, which has now expanded into the unit next door, the extra table seating has made the deli much more accessible when busy. For lunch we ordered tuna melt panini & avocado smash with bacon on sourdough, both meals were freshly prepared, tasty, hot & nicely presented on the plate. Will be back again soon. It is so good to see an independent business expanding & being successful 🙌
