Dinner very nice and good value not had bad food all time I gon there breakfast is exlent

An anonymous Google Food review, we " Used" to be regular customers but today will be our last day ever visiting. We went to the counter and ordered our usual meal, the lady on the counter came across very rude, from walking to the table from the counter our feet/shoes were sticky from the wooden floor, as we were waiting for our breakfast to come out, we had a visual look around the restaurant, my daughter noticed that the wall behind me was literally covered in greasy finger prints, I looked at the floor and it was covered In stuck in dirt. My wife looked at the ceiling and the air conditioning unit was covered in dust, didn't look very hygienic. Our food arrived at the table, the old woman almost dropped the meal on my wife looked at the table and said look free beans with no apology, she noticed that we didn't have any drinks and was told just to help ourselves, looking at the meal looked quite appealing until we all ate the mushrooms first which left a pool of mushroom oil fat on the plate which made us all quite queasy by looking at it, the bacon was really over cooked and dry, with a traditional breakfast you normally have toast with it, 5 minutes after the breakfast was served 3 slices of bread came over, uncut and buttered ( cheap bread ) the hashbrowns was the only saviour on the entire plate, going back a year Pumphouse Cafe was known for Eating Challenges for the likes of Beard Meets food etc, I really don't know what's happened in a year it's as though they have given up !!! It's lost it's charm, when you walked in the place was buzzing, today when we walked in we seen dirt everywhere and that was before the food came out, we quickly ate our food and on the way out I walked past this couple and I said to them that my shoes are sticking to the floor to there reply ..... " yes it's gone really down hill " Today I'm giving a low ball 1/10 the customer service was poor, the food was not nice and gave us all an unpleasant taste in our mouths to the point where we went out for coffee just to get the taste out of our mouths. This will be our last day going to PumpHouse cafe in Wellingborough sad times an end of an era for a once awesome cafe.

Our favorite place to go to eat. Fantastic food and lots of choice. Always made to feel welcome. Even when it's really busy you get treated like you're the only customer, this is why we always return. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

A group of 18 of us booked for a Wednesday lunchtime... our second time there. We were well looked after & the food was great.

Great breakfast good value and quality ingredients only thing would be if you could swap an item eg. Fried egg as can't eat them but overall great

Sunday morning breakfast, arrived just after opening time and cafe was nearly full which is clearly a good sign, food very good, decent portions and great value for money, service was quick and friendly, definitely be returning.

Excellent and a nice catch up with some old faces

The food & value for money was good. Just a shame the general cleanliness let it down. The floor needed a good scrub, the tables & chairs had many months of dirt on them and the toilets, other than the toilet & sink themselves, were in need of a deep clean. Within the complex of individual shops it sits in, it could be made so much more attractive with a bit of attention to cleanliness.

We popped in here for a late breakfast/early lunch as we found it by accident and looked really nice on first glance. However the staff were really unfriendly (the waitress even dumped our food on the table without comment or even looking at us and walked away). The place was unclean, especially the bathrooms, and this really put us off. The food was OK but not amazing. A shame as it looked like it could be a really lovely place but just wasn't a nice experience.

It was okay but the quiche was soggy and greasy, everything felt a bit grubby including the sticky floor and it was a bit basic and canteen-like. Help yourself to limited cheap canned drinks, no nice pots of tea or coffee machine. Given the building and location it’s a shame, as there is scope to have something much nicer and better quality. Staff were friendly but it was just all round disappointing.

Popped here for breakfast and was pretty good. The cafe is quite large with plenty of seating inside and benches outside too. It’s all on the ground floor with lots of parking available, located within Nene court retail park.

Lasagne, devoid if bechamel, dry and dismal All day breakfast- blackened mushrooms, probably off, reheated hash browns and overcooked eggs The breao laid me out from Friday to Sunday night i was sick This place was +vely recommended by enterprise, i dropped off a tailift truck after 3 days of backbreaking work as home under reno. Awful, didn’t have the wherewithal to complain at the desh. And vwont be back

Gluten free is Great breakfast and very fast service. They have special gluten free bread. We will see you again :)

Worse breakfast I have ever had! Black bacon, hard cold eggs, horrible quality ingredients, and overpriced.... Not sure how people actually like this place tbh, sorry not very good at all 👎

The cafe was clean and moderately busy, the staff attentive and pleasant. Seemingly though the JJ's wholesale breakfast was all deep fried with the exception of the eggs, toast and beans. You could visit any turkish/kurdish high street café for the same fare. Cheap sausage, undercooked eggs, fry-dehydrated hash browns heavy with grease and bacon piled up in various stages of preparedness. The real giveaway was the selection of Harrisons sauces fresh from JJ's wholesale . Despite my best efforts could not endure any more and left £10 poorer and 20 years more depressed. If you like a cheap deep fried breakfast in a nice atmosphere then this is the place for you. If you like real sausages, and crispy fried bacon then look elsewhere.

Great bacon,sausage and fried egg bap. Got an unexpected hash brown on the side as well. Only just able to eat it. I didn’t expect it to be that big. Nice and friendly.

Freindley staff and very helpful, food was tasty and good size for price, plently of choices of drinks, we went there twice while staying nearby, o had the calzone and it was huge, and very tasty.

First class service and good portions of food, great value for money. I recommend the mushroom quesadilla and spicy chips with salad. Excellent.

One of the best places to eat in Wellingborough especially if you like a good old English fry up. Thanks for a superb breakfast.

Good value breakfast made with quality ingredients served by friendly staff. What more do you want? I'd give an extra star if the beans came in a separate pot - but that's me just being fussy!!! Plenty of space - even at busy times, means you're not waiting for a table. Definitely worth a visit.

Really good simple food served swiftly and with a smile. Generous portions and a wide range of dishes to suit all tastes. I had the chilli and rice with salad and my husband the quesadilla with chips. There is plenty of seating and the staff are lovely. It's not quiet but it is good honest food and extremely good value.

I am not normally one to complain. But me and my partner decided to have a late breakfast. My partner plate was full of grease which should have been a warning. But we don’t like to send food back. We like to try and support smaller businesses. But both of us are having stomach issues after eating breakfast. Can’t say I would go back again. It’s a shame as the staff were very friendly and the service was quick.

Ok food parking good service was quick

I was here 4 years ago and vowed I'd be back and I am. Not a lot has changed decor wise which is fine as it is in keeping with the atmosphere of the site. No frills, just honest to goodness well cooked and served food. Bye and large pretty well the same staff, real down to earth characters who have a great customer facing attitude. Nothing is trouble to them. Much wider menu than before with the value for money making this place stand out from much more established high street restaurants. My wife had a roll with sausage & fried egg - lovely large soft too, 2 sausages and sunny side up egg. A large crispy salad filled the plate. For me? I went for the chicken & bacon toasted Club sandwich. 2 White toast, with brown in the middle sandwiching delicious roast chicken, well cooked bacon, mango chutney and mayo. Again with a large side salad. Add a tea and filtered coffee - absolutely superb. Without a doubt, the quality and service makes this not to be missed eateries although it also makes it incredibly popular.

Fantastic fried breakfast, eggs were perfectly cooked runny yokes. Coffee we ordered was not as we expected though. 4/10. We will defiantly go in for the food as it was cooked to perfection.

Good ol' cafe grub ! Just what I was looking for. Decent prices, service a tad slow but to be fair they're very busy for a reason! Cracking cafe not trying to be anything other than an honest tasty cafe. Bring back the eating challenges tho... And the wall of fame 👍

Really disappointed with the service I experienced today. I had a hot chocolate which was really unpleasant, it was essentially water mixed with milk and a bit of chocolate powder. Instead of asking for a refund, I asked for something else. I went to the counter and the lady was extremely rude and tried to make it seem as though my comment was unjust. She said that apparently the hot chocolate has been described as "the best hot chocolate" by other customers however in my opinion it was close to unedible. As the alternative to the hot chocolate I had a chocolate bar and a cup of tea, however this woman was not happy and essentially put milk, hot water and a tea bag all together and handed it to me. This was insulting and careless. I have never felt so uncomfortable.

Like to support local shop/cafes was driving by so went and got a coffee had one sip and put it in the bin tasted bland, mouldy and old like the filter has never been changed and trying to get as much use out the coffee beans for £3 would exspect decent coffee as i could of nipped round the corner and gone bewitched cafe that has fresh coffee grounds every time and is 50p cheaper.

Nice pleasant visit. Ordered the Pumphouse breakfast which with tea or coffee was £8 which is good value. Staff friendly and tables always kept clean and cleared very quickly. The coffee was ok and not bad quality. The service is very good and my breakfast arrived within 10 minutes. I have to say the sausages and bacon are good quality and tasty( probably best in Wellingborough) , the egg was nice and fresh as was the hash brown. Not a lover of mushrooms, but they were nice and a good portion. Overall a quality breakfast at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Good food friendly service and atmosphere

A lovely, simple cafe with a real community feel. Service was excellent; staff all very polite, helpful and efficient. My veggie breakfast/brunch was yummy, copious and very good value; it even came with filter coffee included. We stayed there ages and had a second drink it was so relaxed. Thanks to Diane, the proprietor, and her staff. I will be back!

We have been here a few times each time we go it's got a bit worse. My egg had snot on it and my veggy sausages were not hot tasted uncooked. Told one of the servers said he would sort it the same breakfast returned nothing done with the sausages and the egg had blood in it this time so ended up not eating the sausage or the egg very disappointed and will not return.

Quiet cafe for taking in a hearty breakfast. The breakfast menu is slim but the portions are large. Friendly staff

A busy cafe with a reasonably priced selection form a fry up , fresh made on the premises food

Nice coffee and nice toasted sandwiches with side salad, very reasonably priced, my only criticism really is whilst sitting by the windows I noticed an awful lot of dust and cobwebs on the blinds and plastic plants on the shelves could really do with a deep clean to freshen the place up, won't stop me returning though nice place just in need of a little more attention to the fixtures and fittings.

The Pump House is really good and worth paying the money for what they offer, my brother in Law and I come here most Sundays and just can not find any faults. The food, the staff and the place are all excellent. Keep up the great service

Good place to go for something comforting and straightforward within an interesting restored building at nene retail park . Great selection of things to eat and drink both hot and cold ordering at counter then brought to table . Service was good , the food with most things is done to order and was really tasty,filling and decent sized portions . This place seems to have a following and very popular which is clear too see why along with an active atmosphere makes for a great visit if in the area

Came here with my family for a nice breakfast, food came with big portions with affordable prices, the atmosphere is happy and upbeat and the staff are very helpful with getting napkins/cutlery etc I always come here at least once a month for a bite! Don't forget to try their challenges for the wall of fame.. or shame!

Me and my partner decided to go out for breakfast, we found the breakfast alright until my partner found this on his bread and butter. I did let the person in charge know about this and he stated that the bread was fresh that day. So why don’t they check the food before serving it to the customers. Unfortunately will not be visiting this place again.

Had a coffee and bacon bap with my mum here. Food was hot and delicious, cooked fresh, and bought out quickly. Staff very friendly and the place was clean. Everyone there was enjoying all day breakfasts. It is good value for money.

Always good in here. Arrived early and hung about for a bit waiting for the place to open at 10am. Service was quick and the food good. Could do with more space! Although that’s not their fault, it’s so good they have a lot of customers.

Not as good as my last visit. Think the cook is a little complacent and lacking in care. So much grease with the bacon and the egg. Sausage is poor quality

WOW what a find. After being refused elsewhere we came across this lovely place, only a few minutes drive from the Premier Inn. We were a group of 19 and they accomodated with ease and a warm smile. Plentiful parking and lovely location. The food is excellent value for money, service was good and such a pleasant venue especially with all the little quotes on the walls. No one in the group complained about the food and we all commented how nice it was. Quite a few of us actually ordered food to take away with us and we will definitely visit again. Thank you

A good layout in an old industrial building. Had the breakfast which was fine apart from the Sausages which were very low quality. Beans were only just warm. Staff looked fed up to be there

This is your typical warm hearted local no frills cafe. The food is hearty, quick and tasty. Sauces available.. Toilets available.. Plenty of parking outside. It gets very busy inside so arriving early won't benefit !! An offer of a pre ordered £15 breakfast is available, if you can eat it all ( it's massive ) within an hour it's free. Challenge !!! Takeaways also available. Great for a quick visit. Other shops within the same area are available too...

Popular csfe, particularly with locals and motorcyclists, breakfasts seem to be their stock in trade, though there's plenty other choice. Parking on site, toilet available, quick service and friendly waitresses. Unusual building with plenty of history.

Quality products used, portion size a little mean based on the price. Food is cooked well and tasty. Atmosphere seemed a little unfriendly, likely due to the loud banter on some tables, maybe some background music would help

If you want a really good choice of cafe food this is the place to visit. It was busy the day I went, but although there was a queue it didn't take too long to be served and the food was brought to the table. It is very reasonably priced.
