I popped in for a drink on 06/06 at 2024 and parked my car in the car park. I had a drink and left at 2115 and drove home. Lo and behold I have now been issued with a penalty charge notice for £100 for parking in the car park. A very expensive pint!!!

Last night my husband and I went to The Plough where we have dined for many years. With family for celebrations and friends. We were greeted by our hostess with a lovely smile and really could not do any more to make our evening a great experience. The food and service was very good and the attention to detail when it came to my lactose intolerance was very professional. We are very much looking forward to many more meals with family and friends in the future. Can't recommend this charming Pub any more. Thank you for the Happy Birthday Desert plate for my husband.

A group of us went for dinner last weekend and everything was spectacular. Everyone commented on how delicious their meals were, great ales and lagers on tap. The place was busy; full of life and everyone seemed to be having the same experience as us. Nestled away in the peaks this is a destination within itself and it all made sense as to why the place was so vibrant and popular. As far as prices in the peaks go I found everything to be priced well. All the places we’ve been previous to here in the peaks seem to be very much the same price. Will definitely be returning soon as this is a new spot great for meeting friends somewhat between Manchester and Sheffield. Thankyou for a great experience

Food was very underwhelming….. Brie bites cold in the middle …. Garlic mushrooms cold …. Nut roast disgusting and actually was just 2 veggie burgers from Tesco ….. rump steak chewy….. chips cold Burgers tastes like a bland veggie burger …. Not homemade Desserts ….. cheese cake not proper cheese cake …. Tiramisu from Tesco‘s dessert range !!! Sticky toffee pudding … „ meh „….. nothing more to say it was truly disappointing and needless to we won’t be back ….. it’s clearly changed hands again and not for the better !! More food returned to the kitchen than actually eaten 🤮

We came in for a meal. Food was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. Lucy and Mike are fantastic managers who take the time out to talk to us. We have visited this pub more times since Lucy and Mike have arrived then what we have ever done in the 12yrs we have lived in the village. We very much enjoy coming in and having a good laugh with a few drinks and excellent food.

Living in Calow for the last 6 years this pub has continued to disappoint, Landlords coming and going, inconsistent opening times and food being served/not being served. I'm not sure what made me and my wife go again, we know it's under new management again so thought we'd walk down have a pint and a bite to eat, both went for burgers , both reasonably priced and I have to say both very tasty, for nut much more than any fast food restaurant it was well worth the price, we'll definitely be returning. My only little gripe was you had to walk up to the top bar to order, so no table service, that accompanied by the fact the kitchen shuts at 7pm, we normally like to eat a bit later, but all in all, good value and good food.

Called in for a coffee was very disappointed with the place. It was dirty and scruffy, doesn’t look as though it’s been cleaned in months. The toilet facilities were disgusting as for the food, was this a Bakewell tart as there was no sign of the usual recipe. It was soft the pastry was disgusting I would not recommend this place as they need to close it and give it a good facelift. They also need Gordon Ramsey on the case!!!!!!

I had my Wedding at Buxton Pavillion in the conservatory in August and it was fantastic. The team who managed our event did change several times but the hand over between staff was so seamless that nothing was forgotten and everything ran perfectly on the day. I found everyone who I interacted with incredibly professional, friendly and prompt at replying to messages. Everything that we asked for they were able to do and nothing felt like too big of an ask for them. I would highly recommend this venue for weddings as its stunning, our pictures have some out so beautifully and the team were fantastic. All round a 10/10 experience!

Visited a few times now with friends, on all occasions we got a very warm welcome, the menu is very good alot of choice. The food is very good came out piping hot, and in very good time. Really good portions too, the side orders are of a good size aswell. All at a very reasonable price. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend.

Fancied something other than traditional pub fare so booked on a Tuesday evening for the Indian menu. There's 20% of food midweek which makes it more affordable.. lot's of off road parking, staff welcoming, restaurant fairly busy for a Tuesday evening. Food was so good, byriani served with a pastry top like we had in top Indian hotel restaurants,so appreciated. One of the best UK Indian restaurants we've been to, front of house staff actually from India. Try it.
