Good gardens and lots of outdoor space for when the weathers nice. Ordered via app. Drinks arrived with no ice or garnish. Waited a while for some ice. Our cheesy garlic bread had a hair in it. Was about to complain but then the calzone was dropped as it was served to us so that had to be replaced. Removed the hair and didn't complain but wish I had because the chefs should be wearing hair nets! The new calzone was uncooked on the inside because they had rushed it. The meat was warm but the veg and onion was still raw and the dough was very doughy and under cooked. They should not have rushed it because they had dropped the first one. We were there for a birthday meal and would have stayed for more drinks and dessert but after everything we just wanted to leave asap and go somewhere better.

Both our burgers were awful, worst we’ve ever had. Dry, tasteless, paper-thin patties of highly questionable content. One very limp bit of lettuce and a scraping of congealed cheese. No tomato or gherkin or anything else that might have given the dish any flavour. All very cheap and nasty - even the chips were tasteless. Definitely never going there again. One positive note - the server was nice.

We chose this place for my birthday meal as it is near for me, and as a group of 7 we get together for each person's birthday. The meals were excellent and so was the service, very accommodating, and great value. Will definitely come again.

My husband and I chose this venue for my birthday meal. I ordered the vegan chicken burger but without the plant based cheese (I’m allergic to coconut and it’s made with coconut oil). When the food arrived, I noticed some cheese on my plate. After taking the burger apart, I saw that there was cheese at the very bottom of the burger. I’m so glad I noticed before I started eating! I’m not sure how freshly cooked the burger was as it was served very quickly?! My husband ordered Margarita pizza. This was very disappointing! Luckily, it tasted better than it looked! All of the sauce and cheese were located in the middle of the base, making the pizza extremely dry! All in all, it was an awful experience and we will not be rushing back! We were in and out again within 30 minutes!

The restaurant itself looks nice, plenty of parking and the inside is nice. The menu is very limited unless you want carvery - the food took a very long time to come and apart from the people who ordered the carvery no one really liked it. The children's meals took a ridiculously long time to come. It wasn't particularly busy and no one checked to see if everything was all right or removed the plates from the table when we were finished. We ordered desserts - which did look very nice but after half an hour they still hadn't come out and when we enquired we were told they had sold out - we had waited half an hour and no one had informed us of this. This isn't somewhere we will be returning to again.

Lovely meal we will definitely be returning when we are next driving through, James and the team were a brilliant . Highly recommend

We took my mother in law for her 80th birthday and all I can say is it was one of the best family celebrations we have had. The staff were so welcoming and wonderful they even sang and brought out my mother in laws cake. Thank you bulls head we will be returning the first chance we get

We Called in on our way home from a hike it was really lovely and welcoming, the food was delicious and the service was 5 star thank you to the host bethan for seating us quickly and making us feel very welcome

We went here on Boxing Day for Christmas Lunch, we have been here the last 3yrs and always enjoyed it, however this year we did not we were put on a table that normally sits 2 and we were a party of 4.all around us people were squashed around the tables, you had a job getting past other tables when you went for your food, if people had to get out quickly they could not. The food and staff were very good but this has put us off, we booked in November so in plenty of time for you to make the right arrangements for seating.

My friends and I went for Christmas lunch. The staff were amazing couldn't do enough for you. There were great choices for starter and dessert and the carvery. Food was piping hot and delicious and we will certainly be booking again. Thank you to everyone of the team who made our day special

I very much enjoyed my visit to The Bull's Head. Our booking was for the Festive Menu and our table was beautifully decorated. It was very easy to order at the bar, and the service throughout the evening was prompt. The food was all excellent, and so was the atmosphere!!

A little disappointed, no one to meet and greet or explain how it works. Seemed short staffed. Carvery ok but vegetables only lukewarm, asked for two meals to e reheated. Forgot our dessert order. Perhaps it was just a bad day.

We visited for a birthday and we had a lovely time. To be honest, we had visited previously and felt disappointed with the food. However, the restaurant has now redeemed itself in our eyes. The man who served us at the bar was helpful and friendly, very efficient. The food was just plentiful, perfect. The carvery offered three meat choices and a wide range of vegetables and sauces. A particular strong point for us is the opportunity to have a cheaper ‘meat free’ carvery or vegetarian alternatives for the carvery meat, as two of our guests are vegetarian. Many carvery restaurants do not offer this but we feel that this is great value. We had a lovely visit and we will be back! Thank you!

I visited the Bullshead today with my mother and the two of us had breakfast with tea coffee and toast. I would like to add that the service and quality was excellent and great value for money. I would also like to mention the courtesy and friendliness of both Liam and Lynn who took the time to have a chat with my 83 yr old mother who said she enjoyed the visit and would definitely go back with friends and familyWell done to all the Bullshead team.Both Mother and son delighted.

Lovely Wellcome table service was polite very lovely lad but what let it down was the food the beef was very fatty and so thin the veg was over cooked and had no taste what a shame as the staff are brilliant but we as a family of 6 won’t be going there again

Came here for lunch, we had the burger and drink daily deal which was fantastic value for money. Portion size was more than adequate and the service could not be faulted. Particular mention to Ryan & Ashton who were extremely prompt and well mannered. Family friendly restaurant which I cannot fault.

Have been here twice since lockdown restrictions eased. This restaurant has been very Covid compliant. Tables are well spaced and cleaned thoroughly between customers. Carvery is good. You can no longer serve yourself but tell the chef what you would like and they put it on your plate. If you want more of something it’s no problem to ask. My only criticism is the price of the pizzas. They are expensive for what they are. Staff here are super friendly and accommodating.

Good place to come for a carvery. The Social distancing rules are a little odd- you tell the chef what you want on your plate and then they have to carry it to your table for you.

Didn't expect much, but was very disappointed. Painfully slow service and carvery was terrible - stone cold, over cooked veg and fatty beef, at £9.50 per head on a Sunday. Never again!Beer was overpriced and nasty too.Don't waste your money there a much nicer places locally.

We visited the Bulls Head today, after we had been a walk around Grace Dieu Priory, the walk starts at the pub, the pub is beautiful, we sat outside to eat as we had our puppy with us, the grounds are stunning and very peaceful, the food was absolutely beautiful I was really impressed, all the staff were very friendly and helpful, even bringing out a bowl of water for our puppy, would highly recommend

We went during ‘Eat out to help out’ and we were so disappointed. There was no chance of social distancing with staff and customers walking wherever, customers going out for a cigarette and walking past us as we were queuing to get in. No marked routes, with separate in or out doors. With the exception of not being able to serve your own vegetables, you’d never know there was a global pandemic!!And because you couldn’t serve yourselves at the carvery, the food was slopped on your plate, like a school dinner and loads of it too, not at all appetising. Won’t be going back in a hurry.

Booked a table and took my son to celebrate his results. We were greeted at the door and the polite, helpful staff member explained the new procedure given the current situation. All very straightforward and we felt safe. Everything was clean and the food is a reasonable price. The breakfast was really enjoyable, all you can eat buffet, a variety of breakfast items and the food was hot. I had left a bad review previously after a disappointing evening meal but breakfast and the staff on yesterday morning have redeemed it for them.

I only saw a lady on food counter with mask on .Lady serving drinks made it quiet plain no masks needed. The only real change I could see was some tables had been taken away.Food actually was not that bad I would not waste my time going again while covid still major issue when finding somewhere safe to dine. We went to the bulls head today for a meal to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary and we are very happy with the service we had a extra person turn up and they did everything for us to accommodate with the issues of social distancing they were amazing especially mel farmer and the rest of the team well done

Great service and hosting the two ladies that were working the floor were great. The food was excellent and a lovely walk just behind they the woods.

I came here with my husbands family, to cut a long story short I have a milk allergy, I went to the carvery and was told that I couldn’t have the Yorkshire pudding, and apparently the mash had vegan butter in - to which I replied vegan butter doesn’t contain milk.Well basically I fell ill from this, although I’m not extremely allergic, it was enough for me to have to cancel paid plans for that evening. I emailed the company and spoke to Selina Squire - she was very helpful and told me the truth that the mash had contained milk. But has assured me that they are retraining staff and has also rectified the matter. The carvery was nice but wasn’t very warm. I would like to try something off their main menu next time as to be honest it did look really good, but next time I’ll ask for the allergen guide.

We do visit this Carvery on a regular basis but like it so much when we have a familyget together this is where we make for which we did for our Xmas get together when spoke to my sister over the season she asked it i had reviewed it this time so here I amThe manager James was our main server this day along with a young lad called Brett we had good service and it was a lovely atmosphere the food was excellent and all 12 of us were happy we have been twice since and have been made welcome and had a good meal and always look forward to our visits

This place used to be ok for an eat all you want buffet breakfast. Never the best quality food but ok for the money. I have noticed over time however that the food and service have declined..it's especially noticeable that staffing levels are way down, which probably leads to their indifference. Went there this weekend and this will be my last time, the food is now appalling, mostly luke warm, far more limited choice, had to ask and wait for eggs, no brown sauce. When asking the staff for these items it's easy to get the sense of how disheartened they appear. This place used to be ok food at ok prices and was always busy with upbeat staff. All I see here now is quality and service taking a nosedive but prices rocketing up, not particularly cheap on my last visit, nearly £21 for 3 for poor quality breakfast. It's also very noticeable how dirty and cluttered the serving areas are with lots of spilt food on the floor, again probably due to staffing levels. There are now plenty of other places nearby offering breakfast of far far better quality at similar if not better prices. It looks like the bulls head has got a little greedy and taken their eye off the ball!

Boxing day family meal ..if your in the Xmas spirit don't go here staff miserable not friendly even caught a member of staff swearing at another member of staff .felt like we were a burden.shame really cause it's always been lovely.be a while before we go again..really messed up.

Christmas meal with work colleagues I have only been here 3 times in total but each time gets better from being very poor to very good the restaurant has improved hugely The carvery was very nice and plenty of meat given the veg and potatoes all very good and plenty to choose from The Christmas pudding at £2.50 was great value and I really enjoyed it. The staff were pleasant and the young man who waited our table friendly and helpful when asked about dessert cost I think il be visiting more often

I visited the Bulls Head with my wife and a Groupon voucher. We had been before but a few years ago. We were entirely satisfied with our visit this time. The menu was extensive with something for everyone and the food was freshly prepared and of good quality. But the real highlight of our visit was Laura, a most pleasant employee who was very attentive without being overbearing and ensured we made the most of our voucher. It's unusual for me to single out a staff member, but I can only say that EVERY restaurant needs a Laura!

When the member of staff carving the beef shouts to her colleague " Can you come and do this cos I can't cut the bloody thing!!" you know you are in for an interesting evening. Exasperated,"can't be bothered" staff need training or sacking....

've been most times I'm around the area, I wont be coming back. Dawn on the pizza counter is so unbelievably rude. I asked if the 2 gravies were different, a fair question given they were a different shade of brown. Dawn on the pizza counter responded with a stare. I repeated my question. She shouted "they're the same". I asked if she always responded to customers with such rudeness. She said I was being rude. I asked to speak to her supervisor. She refused to give me her name. I asked bar staff to call the supervisor. On hearing this Dawn shouted that I was giving her "attitude". I was embarrassed by this in a busy bar. James the supervisor came down to chat about what happened. I had a refund for my meal, and sat whilst the other members of my group ate. I have 25 years in hospitality. This is shocking customer service.

First time visiting this place, thought we’d give it a try, very busy as you’d expect at 12.30. Got seated very quickly, as it was our first time we asked about the ordering process and the waitress wasn’t very polite with her reply.

Stopped here for lunch on our way home as had driven by many times and thought it looked nice and didn’t realise it was a carvery so we were pleasantly surprised as we haven’t had one for ages. Surprised by the other reviews on here as the day we went the food was fantastic and the meat was lovely. Staff were friendly and the men behind the bar today (Saturday) were quick and polite. The carvery was around £6/£7 so a fair price for a good meal.

Cold chips, beef so tough I couldn't even chew it, salad bar run out and hadn't been replenished, overrun with wasps after leftovers not cleared up. Been before and had a nice carvery but was dire on this occasion

We had booked a table online as always find this pub very busy, decided to go out with my wife’s auntie for lunch as its just down the road 10 minute walk.

arriving at 8.45 this morning not a single customer. food was already out and under the hot lights. we paid for 2 buffet breakfasts plus two coffees. the bacon was under cooked , really under cooked,and so were the sausages. no eggs, are there any , i,ll get some said a totally disinterested member of staff. waited and sat down. with coffee. well muddy tepid something but it did not resemble coffee. eggs turned up sloppy and heaped up . any sauces i asked . yet another wait..... to ad insult to injury you are given cold plates... result cold claggy food. inedible rubbish. staff who dont give a. no doubt the customer relations will say we endeavour to do do better , or we are sorry and in the process of improving customer expectations. twaddle . underpaid staff with high workloads with little training and low expectations will always produce substandard food and service..tip. go somewhere else.. avoid...

Went last night for food. Got moved tables twice because the lad put us in the wrong area which was reserved for party. Ordered food and drinks the young lad poured 1 drink and walked off without pouring the other so another member of staff had to do it. Was rude when he said you know the buzzer system, I didn't so he spoke to me like I was stupid and rolled his eyes. Starters brought out no side plates. Cal zone and pizza lovely. All sides such as beans were congealed and dry. Some people shouldn't work in customer service the gentleman who I dealt with at this restaurant is one of them.

Went for Sunday carvery today. I have got to say that it was one of the worst Sunday lunches that I have ever had. So much so, we both left most of it. Completely tasteless food, the gravy tasted bland and the amount of stringy beef I was given was inedible. Will never grace Stonehouse pubs with my presence again!

This is our local and is very convenient for us but sadly the food just isn’t up to much. The pizzas are pretty good but everything else is dry and often over cooked. The chips are rubbery and the burgers are over cooked and dry. For a pub that sells food as it’s primary source of income it really needs to up its game

Went to the Bull’s Head three times across three days, had early evening meal on wed, breakfast on fri and late lunch on fri and all have been excellent value with friendly staff. Thanks for having me!

I've been here a few times always for the carvery. It is great value for money and always tastes amazing. The service is great and the waiters are really friendly. There is a really friendly atmosphere in this pub and its a greta place to go for a carvery.

Im a regular here i have been going for about 2 years.

We visit here when we are in the area and are usually happy with the carvery bearing in mind the cost. However we visited last week and we were disappointed with the quality. We arrived at 12.15pm and immediately noticed there was not so many in the place as before. When we got served the reason became apparent. The meat portions have been cut back tremendously to 2 small slices. The roast potatoes were hard and undercooked and the vegetables were starting to dry under the heat of the carvery lights. The gravy was very thick and congealed. We did not enjoy the experience and came away thinking standards and quality have dropped. We don,t know if the management or staff have changed but things need improving.

Visited with family after shooting in Lount at Field Sports UK and although it was school holidays it wasn't too busy.

Thought I would try this for one last time. Big mistake and waste of money. Staff have no customer service skills or awareness whatsoever! Food is always dry and looks like it’s been there for about a week. It’s filthy. The floor near the food area looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for weeks. The tables are just the same. Never once saw anyone come out or clear tables and it wasn’t even that busy. No one came near our to see if everything was ok which I’m hindsight was probably a good thing! Absolutely disgusting. Don’t do it!

I opted for a turkey , stuffing and cranberry baguette and all the salads . Quite tasty and filling , made a change from the usual carvery meal . The member of staff that served us was very helpful and polite .

Nothing to write home about but it does what it says, good value food quickly delivered and excellent value drinks. We had a selection of starters served to the table and big in quantity and quality. Not a place for a special meal out but great for a quick and tasty lunch.

Me and my family visit here once a month when we come and see my mother in law as it's convient and has reasonable pricing. However, our recent visit this weekend completely ruined the atmosphere and reputation of the place for me. I took my young son to the toilets where I witnessed clear evidence of drugs use. This is a carvery!? It's supposed to be a family friendly pub and I'm expected to take my son to use these facilities whilst locals use it a public toilet. I saw no evidence of toilet check sheets in there either we left and used the disabled toilets which were fairly unclean. It's a shame our experience was ruined as we do like to visit here. (I did try and report this but the staff were busy and I was in a rush) won't be back in a hurry.

we used to come here because it was cheap and cheerful and good value for money. sundays they charge bigger prices but the food simply isnt worth it, pay around the same for much better elsewhere.

5 of us met at 10.00 am for buffet breakfast. 2 of us are vegetarian so you have to order how many veggie quorn sausages you require when you pay for your breakfast, We were told that there was only 1 sausage left, pretty poor for 10.00 am on a Saturday bearing in mind it was the start of the weekend. If you want mushrooms they charge you extra which seems ridiculous as they are hardly a luxury food item are they. Been a few times before but won't be rushing back i'm afraid, never have enough staff on to take your order and the ones that are on aren't the best.

Visited for the carvery. Vegetables were tired and clearly kept ‘warm’ for too long. Asked for fresh cauliflower and told to come back in 3 minutes. Arrived in 5 along with fresh peas bit was hard and not cooked through. Mash was dry and hard, stuffing like a rock, roast potatoes solid. Beef and gammon was good but turkey so dry it crumbled on carving (the used side was brown and clearly been there a while). The man who appeared to be in charge cleared our table of uneaten food but didn’t ask if everything was ok - he obviously knew! He was seen stirring the salad bar trying to make it look fresh. As we left the veg still hadn’t been refreshed. Best avoided!

Not your ordinary Carvery as you have other choices? Fish, Burgers and Pizza including Calazone (these are very large) the Carvery has all the trimmings you would expect and with the others you get salad (not a big choice) but not to be expected when also get chips, mushy pease and curry sauce. Also good range of Veggie options.

Visited, 2.30, Saturday, 2nd Feb, found the food bland; meats dry(the turkey crumbled during carving), vegetables tired and tasteless. We ate because we were hungry but the unanimous decision add-on "remember not to come here again". M H

Booked a table for my husbands birthday, I have a dairy allergy and unfortunately the two dairy free options were not available. Big thank you to Charlie who took time to look through ingredients to find something I could eat. We had a really tasty meal and every care was taken to make sure we were well fed and happy. We look forward to going back soon thank you again to everyone who made sure we had a really good meal.

very good carvery piping hot with plenty of choice, very busy as expected, the three courses were of a good tasty standard. lovely country pub. set up primarily for eating. only gripe was that I have never tasted a coke so bad, flat would have been an understatement. would definitely return but would not be ordering a coke.

went for a meal didn't realize it was only carvery or pizza which we both didn't want that ,so ordered fish and chips ,sat there for half hour only to realise you had to go serve yourself at carvery ,we like table service and meal brought to table, disappointed it was only self service carvery which to me you go out to be severed at ya table not go serve yourself

I always come here to eat a pizza because I love the pepperoni one with extra pepperoni on it , every time I go the staff is very friendly and give us a nice welcome , I also wanna mention Stacy , Monika and Nico because they are the best waiting staff they have , the persons who makes our pizza are always friendly and I could thank all of them as it’s never the same person who makes it

Was verry rudely approached by one of the staff asking if I wanted pudding then refusing to take the order an pretty disgusting considering other customers were listening over Tom Grethan was took to one side an rudely pressed by one of the staff then given the middle finger by one of the younger staff

First time visited since it became a Stonehouse place. Minimal staff about, and the ones visible were rushing around. Given a buzzer to let us know when food was ready - but I could smell my Calzone burning before the buzzer sounded! Very Smoky atmosphere! Collected plates of food to "help yourself" with sides from the carvery, but the selection available, while a good range, had been under lights for a while and was dry and not fresh at all - Cauliflower Cheese was particularly insipid, chips also pale and bland. Food quantity was good, so didn't go for dessert, Doombar beer and Soft drinks fine.

Fantastic choice!! Carvery is exceptional value and the fish was delicious!!! Too full to even contemplate a pudding!!! Plenty of car parking and ideally situated, right next to a area that dog's can be walked and they are also welcomed, with dog bowls outside of course hahaha. Seriously get in there, a brilliant eatery

Pub wasnt too busy but still had to wait a while. We where given a buzzer to collect our food so did so. My friend had a pizza which was ok i had a chicken wrap which was more wrap than chicken. The menu said help yourself to chips & salad. We had salad no chips in sight . Wouldnt rush to return.

This was our first visit since the place changed hands, and we'll definitely be returning. I had a carvery, which was delicious and served by a very friendly lady, and my other half had pizza, which he very much enjoyed. Reasonable prices, very nice decor. My only complaint is not enough staff at the bar to take your order, making things a little slow, but that could have been a one off. Overall, very enjoyable and, like I said, we'll be back.

Ages since we last dined here (before the refurb). We thought we would give it a try and pleased we did.

We’ve visited three times recently and on each occasion really enjoyed it. Great choice of wines with friendly & knowledgable bar staff to help you choose between them. Food tasty - good selection of fresh veg with the carvery or delicious freshly made pizzas. We’ve not eaten off the rest of the menu so can’t comment on it.

Called for a carvery today at 2.30pm. Food was good but the serving utensils for the veg etc were unbelievably hot after being left under the hot plate lights , so hot in fact that I burnt my fingers reaching to the back dishes tonges and spoons.

What I like about is we have teenage children and as they do they won’t eat toast dinners. We can go there the wife and I have roast and kids have pizza. Never disappoint will the quality of food.

Went as a family for breakfast last Sunday. The Bulls Head is a lovely pub in beautiful surroundings. We found it to be clean, the buffet breakfast warm and replenished constantly. Will definitely return.

The staff are very friendly,there is a good choice for the carvery and the pizza. The inside is clean and the staff are quick to tidy the tables,there is an outside area and it is family friendly

I discovered this place through my daughter. It’s basically a pub with a difference, based on the A512 between Shepshed and Coalville. That difference being that it opens at 8am for a well priced all you can eat breakfast.

My friends and family decided to visit The Bulls Head in Thringstone to celebrate mine and a friends birthday so I booked the table a few weeks before and got an email confirmation. Upon arrival my friends were told there was no reservation in my name which was simply a lie. I mentioned this to a waitress who explained there was sometimes a "glitch" which I thought wasn't great but she was apologetic and we were given a table. I also mentioned the free starter you get when you sign up for their newsletter as I'd not received any email or text confirmation. This waitress mentioned this to another girl who was passing and she duly told me "without a code I can't help you" I said I had followed the process but not received any code so what could we do to resolve it? Again she said "I can't do anything without a code" Turns out this snotty cow was the manager! Not helpful, not bothered and rude. My friend was given the wrong burger, the good wasn't that great in general so I doubt I'll be a repeat customer which is a shame as I'd heard good things but clearly they were having an off night

As a family we come here often the carvery is spot on the staff are very friendly 2 in particular nico and a lovely new member kaitlin. I can definitely recommend this place

Took Dad for a carvery tonight we all enjoyed the new veg and the turkey the only thing I would fault are the jacket potatoes otherwise a lovely meal

Went today to try all the new veg and new turkey omg I’m going back tomorrow for more, definatly 190% better

So I never thought I’d eat here again after a dreadful meal last July, however I was persuaded to give it another try and I have to stay still a long way from perfect but very much improved. The waiting staff and carvery lady were friendly and helpful tables clean but we did have a glass that was clean but smelt very odd as though it had been dried with dirty tea towel maybe.

This pub has really gone down hill. We have been going for years. Carvery meet was cut so thin it was transparent and dry too. My son's pizza was uncooked and had to be replaced. It's a shame as used to be good value and good quality. Manager's apology was not good enough.

Went for a meal tonight with my husband and father Dad and I had burgers and salad and John had fish the food and service was good
