Really enjoyed our lunch here - a little bit out of the town centre but seems very popular and the food was good. The cafe was clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Popping down to Eastbourne on two occasions recently to view property we stumbled up this marvellous unpretentious cafe in the Meads (not far from 2 Estate Agents!). The service was exemplary and the food by Tara, the owner, was superb. The americano coffees were excellent. I had 3 different cheeses, pickled onions, perfect salad for my cheese platter and ONLY £7.50. Every time from now on we will use this cafe!

We were staying in the nearby Grove Guest House and this was the nearest pub which served food. I'm so glad we went. All the food is home made and the vegetable curry was one of the best I've ever had. On top of all that the prices were so low! And that's not something I say very often.

Popped in on my first visit, ordered a flat white and in return for £3.10, received my coffee in the smallest takeaway cup I've ever seen. Much smaller than any other coffee shop in town, of which there are many! I'll be back at some point to try one of the delicious looking grilled cheese sandwiches, but I do feel that £3.10 for a few mouthfuls of coffee is poor value.

Brae is close to home, in the village of Chapleton, between Newtonhill & Stonehaven. Popped in just before lunchtime on a Sunday, and received a very warm welcome. I was there to get takeaway goods. Both members of staff encountered were very friendly, and attended to my order in a quick & efficient manner. Hot chocolates and mochas very nice, special praise for the apple crumble cake. Utterly delicious and the dog liked it as well! 😬 Nice decor, it was also very clean. I will happily return again.

Having eaten at the George a few times I thought it was time to right a review. The food we have had on every visit is exceptional, last night we had the scotch egg and grilled king prawns followed by the sirloin steak for 2, the chefs obviously are passionate about what they do and it shows in the food. The service is unassuming but very efficient the perfect combination. We will definitely be back again.

We were staying locally and decided to pop into this lovely wee café for a late lunch before going back to our accommodation. Cafés etc had just reopened so it was good to be able to support them. The two ladies who were running the café were very welcoming and our food was freshly prepared. It was delicious and well presented. The café also has small gifts/cards etc and I have to confess that I did buy some bits and pieces. Really lovely small eatery. Mind you, we could have done without the two fairly loud guys who were obviously holding a work meeting there. I really wasn’t interested in the ins and outs of their business but they were speaking so loudly that we couldn’t help but earwig in. Think about the other customers chaps. It’s not all about you. If you need to discuss business - do it in your office!

Absolutely lovely county homely pub . Leah and paul are so very welcoming and can’t do enough . There was an outside mobile food event the evening we went but there were no vegetarian options so Leah insisted she do a special dish for me . My vegi burger was the best I’ve ever had and the presentation and sides were fantastic . There was a band playing . Great atmosphere, great pub , well worth eating there . We will be back ❤️

Called on off chance. Bought bread which was OK....normally make my own, but on recommendation thought we try this. Had 2 vanilla slices...found the Pastry dry and not very flaky...vanilla rather synthetic. Can't see what all the fuss is about.

My twin brother Stephen and I decided to visit The Taphouse Bar as we were in this part of town and what a great find. I love the look of this bar,its a modern place, light and airy, great decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout, its a cool bar to unwind in. We were here on a Thursday evening, bar was busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered a pale ale each from the bar ,these were served in excellent condition, we managed to get a table were we just kicked back, chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular bar. My pale ale was so good, light, hoppy but not overhopped, hints of citrus, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a slight bitter finish, a classic British pale ale, so tasty on a hot evening. These are my type of bars, superb staff, great beers and a wonderful location, what more could you ask for, we finished our pale ale's and moved on and for a first time visit to The Taphouse Bar we were totally impressed. The Taphouse Bar is easy to locate along Alma Street near Kelham Square. Most definitely well worth checking out if you're in the area.
