Lovely stopping off point after a long walk. First class food- both the evening meal and the breakfast. Lots of little extra touches that made the stay perfect including a place to leave soggy boots to dry off so they were nice and toastie the next morning. Welcoming host who made this solo female walker feel safe and welcome. Highly recommended.

Ate here whilst staying in Durham for the weekend. Really enjoyed the full tasting menu and allowed switching between vegetarian and main menu for Pescatarian diet. Good range of dishes and flavours. Service was excellent too. Would recommend.

This is the best sandwich shop in Carlisle. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting a tasting baguette.

Lovely coffee but the service was unfriendly at best

Great gluten free cafe,had gluten free sausage and chips and curry sauce,all delicious and good portions,my wife had chicken and mushroom pie and gravy not gluten free but really good,thourghly recommend

Beautiful jacket potatoes, lovely food

Had a buffet delivered, gold star for 10 people.. when it arrived various items missing had to make a couple of texts to ask for the missing items to be delivered. Tbf, some of the buffet was okay, but salad/crudities were not good, cold mangetout, horrible cold mini corn.. A lot of money for what we had. We did get money back for the missing dips and coleslaw (only 1 delivered) they did send a lovely lady round with the missing items, by which time all our guests had arrived. We were celebrating big birthdays across our family

We had a lovely dinner. Well presented, tastes were lovely and careful thought had gone into the dishes with local and seasonal ingredients. I would like to have bought some of the art but the one we liked had already sold and the others were out of my price range. 😅 The rest of the building is also interesting with a range of film memorabilia.

Fabulous breakfast, fairly priced and dog friendly. Lady who runs it was lovely and was great with our dog, giving her a couple of treats.

The bistro was shut for a while, now they are back and it is worth coming to pay a visit.

Me and my partner went for the first time yesterday and as soon as we arrived we were greeted with a warm welcome by David who we now know runs the restaurant with his wife and a team great staff. The food was delicious and freshly made. It was relaxing and spotless and anyone who likes good home cooking at a reasonable price won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back. Darwen's best kept secret.

Friendly welcoming staff and amazing food including unique foods separating them from other quick food cafes.

Faultless food and service in a superb, comfortable location. Birthday dinner for five of us, varied choices from beeg to schnitzel to scampi...all beautifully cooked and presented. 3 starters, 5 mains, 3 desserts, drinks and wine working out around £30 a head..great value. Will definitely be back
