One of the cutest little coffee shops, right by the promenade. Very little room inside, but plenty of seating outdoors. Chocolate brownies are a definite speciality, fudge too. We stopped off for coffee and cake, trying two brownies plus a bakewell blondie. A real treat was the square of fudge they give you free with your hot drink. Expecting it to be quite expensive, I was relieved to be told that they accept card payments, I was also pleasantly surprised by the final bill. Will definitely return…very soon. Open daily Wed-Sun. We had read the good reviews and decided to track Tina's kitchen down on a visit to Okehampton. Its tucked away at the back of the pub so not that easy to spot. We had bacon rolls and coffee for breakfast and sat in the pub garden. Very dog friendly both inside and out. The coffee was really good and the bacon rolls generously served with three rashers of bacon each. Very reasonably priced too. Our dog loved her sausage too.

Great cafe in a rural spot. As we were a group of 16 hungry cyclists and hadnt received a warm welcome at one cafe, we rang ahead to be told, yes, they could accommodate us. When we arrived 25 minutes later, the owner had made a victoria sponge! The scones were the best we've had so far.

Popped in for some lunch after a walk. Absolutely lovely ladies and food was delicious - really warmed us up after the heavens opened! Can’t wait to come back!

On a holiday to Montrose and we sat in and ordered a fish supper, tasted lovely all freshly made. The best we have had in a long time. Would highly recommend the meal. Kai told us he is changing the name to Montrose fish and chips so look out for it on the High Street.

We were staying in Hay and Drover offer the only charger for electric vehicles in the town (and it's free). They were generous with their suggestions of using it overnight. They sell maps for local road and MTB rides too, so after we'd been out on one, we stopped by for a coffee and cake. They sell energy bars and gels too, if you're stocking up before or during a ride. A very friendly team!

Fabulous food and great service. Thoroughly recommend both the venison stew and the sea trout! Advisable to book as it’s not huge and it has a great reputation with the locals…

Whilst trying to amuse my two young son's on a recent visit to Cumbria I took them to the vintage farm. And while that itself is great the real highlight was The Chicken Shed cafe on the site. The food is lovely with the homemade cakes being among the best I have ever tasted. The lady who runs the place is a great host and when my 9 year old cheekily asked for a beer she passed him a bottle of child friendly shandy that made his day. There's also a wide variety of homemade ice cream available which was music to the ears of my 6 year old (and me). Even if you don't fancy visiting the farm itself the food and hospitality at The Chicken Shed is worth seeking out.
