Went to Weavers Cottage today with my family to have a late celebration for my birthday. I had a high tea which was lovely and my family had other various items off the menu. All the food was lovely and beautifully served. The gentleman who was serving was very helpful and efficient and it was service with a smile. We are local to Torquay but it was our first time visiting Weavers cottage but it won’t be our last. Lovely outdoor setting that is covered with heaters and we even had a visit from a little robin on the back of one of our chairs. Lovely little lunch stop.

Lovely find opposite Cockington Forge. A light lunch of a cheese sandwich and a ploughmans; sandwich is served with crisps and a little salad with a lovely dressing. The food was very fresh despite coming quickly. Prepared for the rain (large umbrella put up whilst we were there), very clean and professional.

Went here today with my boyfriend and had a lovely lunch. The setting is beautiful, and has a lovely atmosphere. We ordered jacket potato and it came with lots of filling, salad and coleslaw and tasted delicious. We then couldn’t help but have a fruit scone to share after seeing how appetising they looked. This came with cream and raspberry jam, which was the best scone I have ever had! It was so fresh and was served warm and the homemade raspberry jam was amazing, will definitely be returning!

A wonderful lunch with family. Catered great for kids and adults. I enjoyed delicious Brixham Crab Sandwich from the specials and a local ginger beer. Others enjoyed a stuffed BLT sandwich and the kids plate which came with an Easter themed cake for the children to enjoy. Great coffee and greats atmosphere. A wonderful array of wildlife in the garden. Price range is competitive and well worth it for the quality.

I rang to see if we could book a party of seven adults and two toddlers for lunch and was told that bookings weren’t possible but “I’m sure we will be able to accommodate you. ” So, in the cars and, having arrived in Cockington, and before parking, I went in and saw the owner who pointed to a table large enough for us all and I said we have to park the cars. I was told that was not a problem. Being Good Friday car parking was a problem. When we returned we found our promised table occupied and we were expected to sit at two separate tables whose parasols offered very limited protection from the rain. When questioning why our promised table was suddenly not available the owners reply was “It was ten minutes before you returned and I thought you weren’t coming back”. I beg your pardon! Upon our initial arrival, and prior to parking, he was made aware we were the party of nine who I had tried to book for earlier that morning. I also made him aware that we had travelled thirty miles. We will never return! I understand that the good rating of Weavers was likely inherited from the previous owners. The School House, just across the road, looked after us brilliantly and we all enjoyed the rest of our day in Cockington.

An unexpected gem of a find! I’m not sure how long the current owners have owned this tea room, but they have done a beautiful job with the garden area of the tea room. A very warm welcome was had from the owner and the menu was fairly priced for a tea room in such a prime location. I would definitely return and have something to eat the next time I’m in the area . First visit to Devon for many years and my wife’s first real visit. Having more recently visited Cornwall we were looking forward to the Devonshire cream teas. Cockington was our first stop and full of delicious memories Weavers Cottage has changed a lot, but the reviews are still positive. My wife myself and our dog received a very warm welcome, and we’re shown to a seat in a very nice spot. Treats for the dog soon appeared👍 We placed our order, a sandwich and a cream tea each, and didn’t have to wait long before everything arrived looking great. The food was just as good as it looked, soft bread and generous tasty fillings to the sandwiches, soft but moist scones, tasty jam and the all important clotted cream. All accompanied by a very generous pot of lovely tea. We had a great time, but left slightly disappointed. Our expectations of cream teas had been set by our experiences in Cornwall. One scone with jam and clotted cream isn’t in our eyes a cream tea, although I acknowledge we could have asked for more.

I went there with my young daughter 2years old and there was such a warm greeting as we walked through the door, there was a lovely little play area full of variety of toys and books for her to play with and even a television. There was a variety of hot drinks and mlthe menu looked appealing. Clean and bright space, would definitely recommend. I had a lovely experience. Thank you
