Been coming to the copper kettle for years, old fashion tea rooms with good lunch options, specials are always very good (lasagne, cottage pie, Cauliflower cheese, macaroni cheese & even had sausage mash & onion gravy) specials do change weekly/Every few days. You never leave hungry at the copper kettle its a small team but a very good team. Always worth ringing ahead for a table as it is popular in dulverton.

Superb afternoon tea: scones were excellent, clotted cream was the genuine article (not out of a little plastic pot), jam was superb (blackcurrant, also in a little dish, had whole blackcurrants in it). The bakewell tart was also delicious. All cakes served warm (as they should be). Tea was out of a teapot, served with a pot of hot water, coffee available in various forms including from a cafetière. Highly recommended!

Lovely cozy place for meals - breakfast, lunch, or tea. My BLT was just phenomenal - the bread was so fresh and a perfect crumb. We wanted to try their afternoon tea after googling them in the local area and given their reviews were really excited to treat ourselves to a hearty, local and no-frills but delicious afternoon tea. When i called on Saturday morning to ask if they had any availability for a table of two for afternoon tea that day, the young lady on the phone said they are fully booked and there is not any space at all for that day. She also pretended to not understand or hear me. When i asked my husband to call in 5 minutes, miraculously they had a table available for two for “Steve” whichever time we liked. Which was really strange because 2 mins ago they did not have any availability at all all day and when my husband called he could book whatever time he liked. I guess they do not get many tourist sounding customers. We still wanted to go and try and not let this confusion of availability bother us. When we arrived the older lady looked like she was very stressed and did not even smile once. We order an afternoon tea for two for £32. Sandwiches were absolutely made with the cheapest bread and butter. It felt like sandwiches you would have in a school dinner at best. Smoked salmon in the sandwich was ok and fresh. The cheese and chutney sandwich was ok. The scones were fresh and tasty and portions were good. Presentation is not up to par with £32 they charge. We did not even get them stacked on a tier cake tray it was all showed on normal plates. We did not even get extra napkins. We chose christmas cake and Victoria sponge for choice of our cakes. My husband said Christmas cake was ok. My Victoria sponge did not feel fresh at all. Sponge was dry and hard. We were expecting a local, rustic but authentic place with freshly made cakes, good coffee and smiling welcoming service (no matter what customers sounded on the phone) We did not quiet get that. Gave 5 stars to athmosphere only because it looked authentic and rustic. We would not spend more time in there longer than it takes for our coffee stays warm.

With the demise of Mortimers in Dulverton (oh just so sad) we had to go here to try it out. Never been in as it was always crowded; today's visit was tacked onto the end of a mini-errands run (which also took in the excellent Seven Fables and Rothwell and Dunworth bookshops). Coffee was good. I had the cafetiere version and it was wonderful. Tomato soup was good, and the salmon and cream cheese sandwich also went down well. The cakes looked really good, but time prevented sampling. Dog friendly, a bit squashed, but service kind. Not a buzzing atmosphere, but gentle and calm.

Nice, friendly and dog friendly, quaint tearoom. Clean and tidy with a nice garden area. We went on a Saturday and it seemed a bit stressed. I think because it was so busy. The food was nice, but a bit more basic then expected iI e. no dressing on the salad). A ridiculous amount of cheese in the sandwiches though to the point of being sickly. Would like to visit again if in the area and try the cakes!

We booked in advance as we had 16 people from our Walking Group descending between 3pm and 4pm. It was a lovely day and the owners had reserved the outside (garden) tables for us so we could sit in the sunshine or shade as you wished. Great service all round and the cream teas, cakes and especialy the bakewell tart and ice cream, which was a popular choice, were all of the best quality. Thanks to Mick, the owner, for great communication via email and accommodating us on the day. I would thoroughly recommend The Copper Kettle when in Dulverton. My personal note - the coffee & walnut cake is something else and you get a really good portion!

Pre-booked a table here for us and 2 friends as we were staying on the campsite in town and they were visiting us for the day. Arrived and there had been a bit of a mix up with our booking (we'd booked an outside table but had been allocated a table inside). Not a problem and easily resolved. Perfect. We all had a cooked breakfast, ranging from the large, mini and salmon and scrambled eggs on toast all washed down with various types of coffee. The food came out quickly, freshly cooked, served on hot plates and delivered in a friendly and efficient manner, oh and it was delicious. We couldn't ask for anymore. Weather was amazing for a bank holiday weekend and it was lovely to enjoy a gorgeous breakfast sat in their lovely garden. Highly recommended and we'll visit again when we next book into the campsite.

Wonderfull welcome. Having had the best bacon butty EVER, about five years ago, I made a point of returning whilst visiting Exmoor. The grill had been switched off but without hesitation, they put it back on and I had two remarkable bacon sandwiches, one with egg, one as was. Beautiful bread (1 white, 1 granary) buttery, and the contents were not only cooked to perfection, but the bacon was piled in. Without requesting it, we were even given Bread Sauce, which is a favourite for both of us. (Don’t understand why so many restaurants have given up serving it). The roasties were to die for, vegetables were very tasty, plenty of delicious flavours on our plates, and even our own jug of gravy. Neither of us left a mouthful! Couldn’t criticise a thing! We stopped here for breakfast on the way to Lynmouth and what a breakfast it was. We had the small breakfast which consisted of egg, bacon, sausage, tomato and beans which were thoughtfully served in a ramekin dish rather than the sauce running wild all over the plate. Everything was yummy and cooked to perfection. It would have been a ....sin to leave without tasting one of the cakes in display at the counter and so we did and I believe it was a carrot cake which was delicious (soft, moist and tasty). The coffee was good too. The staff were very welcoming, the place was beautifully decorated and spotless and so were the toilets

What a find!! Can not recommend this Tea Room highly enough. We’ve had lots of cream teas over the years, but Bramdowns is the best ever. The homemade scones were amazing. The service was first class and so friendly. The decor and the crockery are lovely, also with the music in the background you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so much more than just a cream tea. Long May you continue, Ladies. Next time we’re passing by Porlock, Bramdowns, is a definite stop off.

Amanda did all the catering for my birthday celebrations in Woolavington, Bridgwater, and she really did me proud. Amanda guided me towards an easily managed menu suitable for all ages ranging from 2 to 95 years. It worked perfectly. Friday night's hot meal on was followed the next day by a hot buffet (chicken provencal, cottage pie and dauphinoise potatoes), salads, a wonderful lemon meringue pie, huge chocolate cake, breads, sausage rolls, large quiche and much more. The really generous portions fed 20 adults and 6 children with left overs. The food was much-praised with the outstanding comment came from one young granddaughter who can be rather choosy. Having asked who made the cottage pie she declared it to be the best she had ever had - praise indeed. I would not hesitate to recommend Amanda and her catering. Thank you.
