Dicky's in Bournemouth

Back after one year for another family birthday and Dickies didn’t disappoint. Great nibbles to start, excellent mains and delicious pudding. As good as it was before and no more expensive. Polite, helpful and pleasant service, excellent food, good choice of drinks. Definitely coming again next year!

I heard good things about Dicky’s so booked for my wife and myself, and it didn’t disappoint! Staff were lovely, and was the best meal we’ve had for a long time! We will be back :)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ First time visiting and what an incredible experience! I started with the whitebait, which was perfectly crispy. Then, I had the monkfish, which was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious. Lin, our server, was amazing! She was attentive, friendly and made sure everything was spot on throughout the evening. Her recommendations were perfect and she really added to the overall experience. Thank you! I’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend.

Excellent from start to finish, food is exceptional, we choose two starters and a special main meal monkfish, great selection drinks, served by Lynn who was as welcoming and friendly as usual, we are not local but when in the area this is our go to restaurant, the five star reviews say it all

Lovely meal, food and service were excellent. Fish and chips a real highlight but all our meals were great. They found out we had a birthday in the group and popped a candle in her dessert as a thoughtful touch. A real treat and would definitely recommend.

We were staying in Southbourne, and with a quick Tripadvisor search found and booked @dicky’s. Well what a find. We arrived a little early and we’re offered a table an alternative table in the bar or to wait, so we sat and enjoyed a bottle of English sparkling wine, which is first class. The food and service were fabulous, we shared some padron peppers but the mains stood out Massaman Duck and Tuna nicoise both cooked to perfection which tuna often isn’t. Full of flavour and delicious. Desert and coffee and a negroni to finish. We will definitely be back next time we visit the area. Many thanks for a wonderful evening.

Excellent food throughout the evening, staff are really warm and friendly, hats off to the front of house/bar guy and our waitress, having observed them both over the course of the meal they were both very attentive,informative and knowledgeable a real credit to the business Booked to come back in Sept

I hardly ever write reviews, but I had to immediately write one when I returned home from our evening at dickys. My husband and I went here this evening for our 1st wedding anniversary and from the moment we arrived, the experience was amazing. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our table and congratulated on our anniversary. The amazing woman who served us all evening was so attentive (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) welcoming and friendly. The food and wine were delicious and the presentation was amazing. I had the most wonderful evening with my husband and we will definitely be back soon. All in all a wonderful experience and the customer service was impeccable. Thank you for making our first wedding anniversary so memorable x

First time visiting, after hearing recommendations and seeing the great reviews, we decided to visit to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. The food was truly delicious, well made and beautifully presented. The service was genuinely lovely, personable, courteous, and attentive. An easy 5 out of 5, we will be back. My partner and I visited your restaurant in Wednesday evening this week after several recommendations. We booked online for the waiting list and were called within minutes to say there was a table available. To be honest we were blown away - our high expectations were exceeded. The menu looked amazing - a really varied and balanced selection of dishes. The food and drinks were delicious - even tastier than they looked on the menu! However, the service was outstanding. Our server Katie was flawless - personable and professional, with a real attention to detail. She is such a a credit to you - we felt really looked after. Thanks so much for having us - we can't wait to be back.

Consistently delivers the very best in terms of menu choice, food quality and service. Very well managed venue and it shows. Great atmosphere inside and its great value for money considering what you are getting. The menu is very creative and we love that it gets the occasional change but they keep the classics on it. Service is fun and friendly but also very attentive and professional. Have simply never had a single negative experience in 20+ visits.

A prompt welcome to our table, an offer to take our coats, comfortable seats, good spacing between tables, with cutlery clean and shiny. A great start to an excellent meal. Being a Monday, the restaurant wasn't very busy, but had a nice atmosphere. We each enjoyed different dishes at Dicky's; flavoursome, well presented and generous portions. I'd loved to have seen some free-range chicken/meat on the menu. We enjoyed desserts, chocolate-free choices were a bit limited, but being freshly made, they were able to adapt a couple for us. Service was efficient, slightly formal, but attentive throughout. We'd definitely return when next staying in Southbourne.

What a fabulous local gem. Was bought gift voucher for Christmas and finally got around to using it last night 30/3/24! Wonderful staff, absolutely faultless service and the most delicious food. The bar and restaurant are very stylishly decorated and furnished.. I could go on & on. Just go try it for yourselves, it won’t disappoint. Will definitely be frequent visitors. Loved it

Fabulous meal. The husband had the Slow Braised Lamb Shank. The meat fell off the bone and was cleverly served with braised red cabbage to add a sweet hint. The dauphinois was butter soft. I opted for the Dutch Steak, served pink (yum) with a Dutch gravy, fries and bread - for mopping up. The steak was sublime, I hardly needed a steak Knife. I wasn’t too keen on the gravy when mopped up with the bread but it didn’t detract from the truly delightful steak. We finished off with a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and Sticky Toffee pudding, The staff are very friendly - shout out to Lynne - and the whole atmosphere is relaxed and friendly whilst also running like a well oiled machine. We will definitely return.

Nice evening. Met in their bar area first. It is a traditional bar with a good selection of drinks. Food good. Two of us had the scotch egg starter which was VG. I had the pork schnitzel main again Vg. wine well priced. service very good. Great to see it full.

Really love the style of this restaurant. Arrived at 6.15pm and already fairly busy for a Monday evening. Usual Autumn/Winter menu but disappointed that moules were already sold out and no specials either. Nevertheless food was great as was the service. Would be great if the menu changed more regularly then twice a year. We would definitely visit more regularly then.

We hadn't been for a while and had recently heard from friends that the service had dropped off (a complaint about a disappointing steak was dismissed), however, it was great. The steak was excellent, other dishes fresh and tasty - at a decent price. Great selection of good wines at fair prices.

What an amazing place, the Staff are so friendly and welcoming. I went with my family to celebrate my 76 birthday, I was thoroughly spoilt by the Staff. The menu is the best one we have seen in a long time, I went for the Ribeye steak with Saute veg, the Steak looked wonderful but it was very sinuey and had to leave half as I couldn't chew it, but the Starter and Dessert were delicious most of the family had the Dutch steak and loved it, had a wonderful time and will definately be back. Prices just above average but worth every penny. Well done Dicky's.and thankyou.

I booked Dicky's for my mum's (67th) birthday. I emailed the restaurant a few times before as a member of our party has a specific food allergy. Tilly was incredibly helpful and wonderful. The staff on the day were also really friendly and helpful. Large portion sizes and we all left feeling full.

Dicky’s never fails to offer the best food available locally and perhaps in Bournemouth although such observations are a matter of opinion, not fact. Whilst their high standard is maintained We shall continue to be regular customers.
