The Fry Inn in Bournemouth

Went there tonight as was very hungry and couldn't be bothered to cook. Was quite busy and stood in the queue for 15 minutes and when it was my turn I placed order only to be told I would have to wait for 25 minutes or more. To say I was rather disappointed would be & understatement! Walked straight to never return again. Now sat waiting in another establishment that's just opened up the road.

Lovely fish and chip restaurant, but only opens between 5-8pm but you need to order early. Parking nearby is quite difficult. Food hot and fresh, good portion size. Chicken fillet burger, good quality and cooked well, lots of fresh lettuce. Chips were a little soggy and mushy.

It was a busy Friday night, and the wait was well worth it!

Was a bit disappointed when we ordered through deliveroo they had run out of chips, but on the up side the items we could order were very nice 👍🏻

Food was good and service was quick, despite being very busy. Knocked off one star, as the Pie wasn't hot and we needed to warm it up.

First time we've purchased a takeaway here and would definitely do it again. Very friendly and helpful staff, all food cooked to order and tasty too not dripping in grease or cooked in days old oil. Highly recommend thank you :)

Was down in Southbourne for the weekend and this was my visit. Excellent freshly cooked fish and chips. Would certainly recommend.

I've had several take away cod and chips meals from here over the last couple of years. Each time the quality has been excellent. The fish has been really 'meaty' moist with a light crisp batter. Chips look hand cut and perfectly cooked. The owners are very friendly and clearly care about their offering. To be highly recommended.

Quite simply, they are the greatest team selling the best fish and chips in the area! There would be a photo but I have eaten it!

This is just the best fish and chip shop locally the food is outstanding cooked fresh the staff are all so friendly and kind I love the pea fritters crispy batter and so delicious the best.To be fair the prices are reasonable and the menu is varied catering for all tastes. Great quality, friendly service and glad to see them taking Covid precautions seriously. They cook everything to order so it takes 15 mins or so, but well worth the time and price as the quality is brilliant.

Basically a fish and chip restaurant. Listed under gluten free in tripadvisor but they do not do gluten free fish and chips because I asked them.

Not the cheapest chippy in town.. but worth every penny.

Cod and chips are fab. Can't say anything more as that's all we had. If you're out of area then take your box of food to Tuckton Tea-gardens area and eat on the tables there. Turn right if you're facing the cafe and head towards the Tuckton Bridge and cross over the road. On a lovely evening you can't do worse!

Despite the short wait in the sunshine, it was well worth it. Portions were good. Nuggets met sons approval pie was good and fish was perfectly cooked.

We’re not local but when in the area this is our go to fish and chip shop. Consistently great fish and chips. Not greasy, good size portions and service with a smile.

What can I say....scrummy lightly battered tasty cod and fabulous chips. Attentive friendly service. I havent been here for a long while as its not close to me and fish and chips is a rare treat I have. I was going to go to Rickys (also fabulous) but too much of a queue there. I wasnt disappointed...its as good as it ever was..and fish is skinless too so less grease. Thank you Fry Inn...blimmin' lovely ! 😁

Ive been craving Fish and Chips for ages...Rickys is all queued up near me so I went to Fry Inn as its the last place I had great fish and chips. THANK YOU....its as good as i remember...better maybe. Lovely light batter no skin and lively service (cooked to order) . Made my evening 🤗

We stopped if to grab some dinner to take to the beach at around 8.30pm. It had clearly been very busy and the shop was shutting at 9 but the shop was really clean and tidy. Perfect social distancing and just a very clean environment. The chips were made fresh as we came later were told it would be a little wait (5/10) mins but we didn’t mind at all because we had come near closing. We orderd cod, battered sausage, chips and curry sauce. The cod was STUNNING!!!!! So thick and batter was perfect not greasy at all. Everything else was perfectly good and crispy and the curry sauce was incredible wasn’t just the normal boring chippy curry sauce it had so much flavour. We will 100% be making this a regular stop for late night drives and beach days. Staff were also incredible friendly and happy!

A good fish 'n' chips to be had here. Popped in this evening for 3x Cod and chips and it was really good. It did take a while but good things come to those that wait, they were really busy. Good service just a bit of with all the waiting outside for your order but that's now the world we live in with this Covid-19. Worth a visit 👍

We had an amazing take away on what was a busy Friday night. Haddock was excellent, crispy and not greasy and the chips were amazing! Lovely family owned restaurant, hopefully they thrive through a difficult time.

This is the best Fish and Chip restaurant in the area. The owner is so lovely and nothing is too much trouble. They also have a great gluten free menu. We have a Fish and Chip shop across the road but will always travel for the Fry Inn.

Lovely bit of cod. Large chips is for one person whereas large chips in most places feeds a family. They take cards which is great. Give it a try.

Gluten free and delicious! Phoned the order through and picked it up 20 mins and it was ready & waiting. Spot on. Everyone loved it.

Rude rude rude!!! Wanted to eat in. Said ok. Give us food in takeaway boxes. Asked for plates said there was no service.. then why say we could eat in??? Begrudgingly gave me plates.. wooden cutlery.. asked for salt & vinegar.. he said "it's over there" so I had to help myself from behind the counter to get it..asked for ketchup but had to pay where previously with other owners it was supplied as part of the dining in experience. Oh and I complained about the sausage as when he put the food on the table it fell on the table so I said I wanted another.. and he threw it in the bin complaining about me. I will never go here again.

Popped in for lunch, friendly staff and good portion sizes but overall not for me. Cod, chips and mushy peas and a tea was ok and good pricing but have had better locally. All cooked ok just fish and chips had bit of an odd taste - (old oil maybe?) and peas a bit watery. Sorry.

The batter on the cod was light, the fish was delicious and the chips were perfectly cooked. The generous portions were fairly priced and to round it off the pineapple fritter with ice cream and toffee sauce was to die for!

As far as My wife and myself are concerned this is the best fish and chip restaurant we have ever been to.We have never had a bad meal from here.The staff are very friendly.The fish is always great quality.If you are on holiday or a local here we really can recommend the fry inn.On busy days you may have to wait a little longer as everything is cooked fresh but worth the wait.

Es sieht weder von außen nicht von innen besonders einladend aus, aber auf Grund der Bewertungen und des großen Hungers sind wir rein. Es war super! Sehr sehr leckeres Essen, günstig und echt große Portionen. Haben klassisch Fish und Chips gegessen. Große Portion Chips zu zweit haben wir nicht geschafft! Unbedingt ausprobieren!

Called in recently for a chippy supper. It’s sometime since our last visit & whilst food was ok, it wasn’t as good as previously. Still good portion sizes though & good value for money. Very nice fish cakes. Cooked to order so you might have to wait for your order.

Las papas fritas siempre están perfectamente saladas y la salsa de curry de la tienda de papas fritas en Dorset realmente puede decir que se hace cada día, no de un paquete como la mayoría de las tiendas de papas y papas hoy en día. Bonito bacalao y patatas fritas. Fresco y sabroso. La razón por la que no le di cinco estrellas es el hecho de que no nos preguntaron si cenamos y nos cobraron un precio para llevar. Luego, cuando el personal se dio cuenta de que estábamos alojados nos cobraron extra. ¿No es un biggy pero solo un toque de perfección?

Excelente chippy con algunas excelentes opciones vegetarianas. A mi familia vegetariana le encanta el Halloumi frito con papas fritas y siempre voy al Haddock. Ocupado la mayoría de las noches, pero puede realizar pedidos telefónicos que recomendaría. Área de servicio muy limpia y personal amable, con aproximadamente 6 bancos dentro, aproximadamente 24 cubiertas si desea comer.

Top quality fish and chips! The owners and staff are absolutely lovely, table service is available as well as takeaway. They do get extremely busy but it's definitely worth the wait. Large variety on the menu and they're often adding additions or trials to cover as many tastes as possible. Meals are always very generously sized and piping hot.

Unlike most other chippies, everything on the menu is fab - not just the fish. I often go for things like burgers & chicken over the more mainstream stuff here.

Great fish and chips. Cooked fresh to order which although you have to wait, it is worth the wait. Fish was tasty, light crispy batter and moist fish, chips were great, hot and a slight crisp to them. Staff were friendly and cheerful, always a plus. This was my first visit, definately going back soon.

There are a few fish and chip shops within a mile radius which are better than average but fish and chips is very hard to get consistently right and The Fry Inn always delivers fresh, freshly cooked fish in the lightest of batters with friendly service. I am so lucky that it is within walking distance of my house.

I've always received very good fish and chips freshly cooked. They have a wide variety of other food to choose from including a few unusual but tasty options and you have the option to eat in! The service has always been very good and they are very friendly! I would definitely recommend you visit when in the area!
