Stopped for lunch, and staff were very friendly. A varied menu with some different and tasty food choices. All food is freshly prepared and good-sized portions. Lovely cakes. Dogs welcomed and catered for. A good decision to visit here.

We wandered round Grassington looking at the menus at lots of eating places. We both wanted something 'different!' Our eyes were drawn to the board outside which said they served Dark Woods Coffee, which is a local coffee roasters near to where we live. Looking at the menu we saw they really did serve something different. There weren't any tables inside and whilst is was fairly warm in the sun we thought we would eat at one of the roadside tables. When I went in to order, I was told there would be a table in a couple of minutes if we would like to wait - so we did. S went with the ham, egg and chip sandwich whilst I have the lemon may tuna on sourbread with olives and capers - both were declared delicious and just what we wanted.

We called here for coffee whilst on a walk through Grassington and had a great experience. Service was friendly and efficient, the coffees good quality and the food very tasty. A busy, lively cafe well worth a visit.

We always go to the Treat when we are staying at Long Ashes. we went for a coffee-nice-and lunch. Food and coffee excellent, good service and nice atmosphere. i like the Retreat!!

My friend and I visit this lovely tearoom, my friend had lemon and cumin humous which she said was really tasty and I had gf scones with cream and jam which was really lovely. Great place, lovely atmosphere and somewhere I’d happily come solo.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and made us feel instantly welcomed. The selection of food was great especially for us vegetarians! The cakes were great too (thanks Adele!) highly recommend the black garlic ketchup.

Recommend this Tea Room really lovely meal and the Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Really good vibe and will definitely visit again.

Sometimes it’s hard to get really good healthy food in country villages but this place had some imaginative choices, and the hummus on sourdough was stunning! A lovely atmosphere and friendly service.

Stopped off in Grassington to break our journey and were pleased we chose this friendly tea room with the village having a lot of choice. Nice cappuccino and bacon on ciabatta- with generous amount of quality bacon was much appreciated. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We also took away some of their scones, both fruit and cheese which were delicious.

A small and really good café! The staff was very nice. My husband had a fruit scone with jam and cream and I had a slice of the Pistaccio-Lime cake - both were really good. I can only recommend this place!

Found this tearoom and had a really tasty lunch - we both had the griddled fafafel and hummus wrap which came with chips and side salad. It was filling and very tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We followed it by sharing a sticky ginger flapjack which was also really good. Will be returning next time we're in the area.

This place is such a little gem! Went for breakfast and could have had so everything on the menu. Both opted for the chilli, spinach eggs and it was delicious. Homemade smoothie as well was a great way to start the day. Excellent fresh cooked food and great value for money. Would 100% recommend & will be back next time we visit.

Delicious breakfast and opens at 930am on a Sunday too. Definitely recommend the three egg omelette and coconut porridge.

We stopped at this lovely cafe twice during our stay at Conistone. Located in the quaint little square in Grassington it made a great spot to get some breakfast while we were out and about. Clearly a popular spot given it was the only cafe we found which was full! And now we know why. Very cute interior and friendly pleasant staff on both our visits. The coconut lattes were our go to especially given the local coffee they use which was very good. The garlic mushrooms and panchetta on toast were super tasty. As were the chilli eggs we tried on the second visit. Everything was so well cooked and great quality, including the sauce selection which are Stokes. We have sampled these before and they are very tasty, especially the brown sauce. Couldn't fault anything. Our only regret is that we didn't sample any of the cakes as both our stops were for breakfast. Given all the cakes are homemade by one of the owners, we will deffinetly have to return in the near future and sample some treats! We have kept a business card for our next visit.

Great spot for drinks, cakes, brunch or lunch. There's service with a smile and food to match at this friendly bistro in Grassington. We stopped twice in one day: for hot drinks and cake, and then later on for a light lunch. I can recommend the smoked mackerel pate on sourdough toast, made all the more tasty by the beetroot and horseradish dressing. Otherwise there are plenty of tasty options in the menu to choose from.

On a recent visit to our van in Threshfield Pat caught the bus and I walked to Grassington - where they were filming All Creatures Great and Small. We decided to have a drink and went to the Retreat. It was busy, staff were lovely and the drinks very welcome. We like the Retreat.

We had a lovely experience having lunch today. I had stupidly brought with me the wrong sized nappies with me (early mornings 🙄🙄) but there were nappies available and the owner brought me across a toy that my 5 moth old could play with whilst on her bumbo seat at our table. Many thanks. My 11 year old son loved his dinner, as did I - such a good meal he managed to clean his plate completely. The only negative part was unfortunately having to attend with my bossy mother! Apologies for any rudeness xxxx

Booked lunch here for 8 adults plus toddler. Great experience from start to finish. Table ready and waiting, warm welcome from thoughtful staff, who couldn't do enough for us, including toys for our toddler. Superb menu, with something for everyone and lovely home made touches. Reasonably priced with speedy service. Would highly recommend!

Booked for lunch with the family on a special day out and from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome and the food and service were fantastic. Great varied and imaginative menu for all tastes, reasonably priced and served swiftly. The lady who served us was especially lovely!

We love Retreat for lunch or just a drink, and were equally impressed with the afternoon tea we had recently. It's difficult to find a gluten-free afternoon tea but this one was brilliant and didn't leave me feeling left out at all. My 6yo had the kids afternoon tea and that was brilliant too - lovely little touches with the fruit and plenty to take home for another day. Perfect.

After a lovely walk on a freezing but sunny day, this was the perfect spot to stop for afternoon tea! As a group of six, we sampled many of the cakes on offer and the different teas and coffees and they were all delicious! Will definitely be back!

Really nice place, very cozy and we visited twice during our trip to Grassington. First day we both had the excellent Posh Ham, Egg & Chip Butty which came with an outstandingly tasty black garlic ketchup. On day two we’d been for a big walk so hot drinks were required, I had the Austrian Hot Chocolate and Mrs F had the Mulled Apple & Pear Brandy - all very festive and revitalising! We also sampled the cakes, ginger flapjacks and coffee & walnut cake - naughty but nice!

We called into this lovely cafe on Friday, my partner had the homemade tomato soup, and i had the mincepie with whipped cream...coffee and tea, what can we say, IT WAS FANTASTIC...so lovely staff very nice, food so good, and lovely cafe ambiance. we tried to come to eat again, when we stayed in grassington, however it was just too busy...we will visit again next time.

The town was quite busy but we managed to get a table for two. The cafe is very pleasantly decorated and the tables are clean. The menu has plenty of selection with some different items to choose from rather than just sandwiches and jacket potatoes. There's even a selection of different types of chips! I had the Wensleydale and chutney sandwich and hubby had the mackerel pate on sourdough. We shared a bowl of plain chips. Everything was very well presented, tasty and the chips were hot. The coffee was delicious. All in all a great place to stop for lunch.

Popped in for a quick warming bowl of soup following a long walk in the area. Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The soup was homemade and very tasty with lovely fresh granary bread and butter. Very reasonably priced. Dog friendly. Would definitely recommend this tea room.

Three adults visited for lunch and all three meals were excellent. For something different, try the lemon and cumin hummus with black garlic! Really tasty. All good is presented well, the coffee is excellent and service is friendly and quick.

Scone was excellent. We were given a table even though it was busy they fitted us in. Good amount of original vegetarian options. Brunch menu (from 11:30) is best for the vegetarian options. Note the evening service is only fridays and saturdays.
