The best restaurants in United Kingdom serving British food

Having visited on a whim with our 5yo, due to wet weather on our holiday, I cannot recommend highly enough. They are operating the Soft Play on a booking only basis but let my son go in for 45 minutes before the bookings arrived. The facilities look really clean and new and my son had a blast. My partner wanted a chicken baguette which they cooked from fresh. We couldn’t have asked for a warmer reception, such a welcoming and lovely atmosphere and the food is great, as well as affordable.

I was there for the England V Netherlands game. Fantastic atmosphere, brilliant barbecue and fun, fun, fun. Oh the free shots also helped!

I've been dragging my friend on a burger tour of Cardiff for a few months now. We've gone to some of the most recommended spots in town. I can honestly say, without exaggeration or hyperbole, that this was not only the best burger I've ever eaten, but one of the best meals I've had in my life - and that includes my grandmother's cooking. I knew the reviews were good. I knew that the restaurant owners owned the butcher's and the farm too, so I was prepared to enjoy myself. I was genuinely unprepared for just how good the food tasted. I could use phrases like "melt-in-the-mouth", "bursting with flavour", or "perfectly balanced", but I wouldn't be doing it justice. You have to experience it for yourself. The only burger I've had that came close was a lamb burger served on the farm where the animal had been slaughtered that morning. The freshness and quality of the ingredients here, from the homemade buns to the inspired toppings to the tender, juicy meat itself, are immediately apparent. I was both completely satisfied and could not get enough. I'm going to be dragging my friends and family here every chance I get - this place must stay open, it is a genuine Cardiff institution and Welsh national treasure. Again, I'm not exaggerating. P.S. A really good cafe. Very nice staff. Very high-quality produce. Cooked from scratch and cooked really well. The price is very reasonable. It is much larger inside, so if it looks packed, don't walk away, go and have a look. It extends right back and they have a garden area. The building is cursed with what appears to be tinted glass and this makes the place look dark, but it is not. Once you get inside it is really bright and well presented. Well-styled decor. It is tucked away a bit, a couple of doors down from Corals, the bookmakers. I visited 9/10/23. Give it a go.

Cuando me dijeron que sería comer en George, estaba encantado. Tuvimos pasado muchas, muchas veces, cuando en Mayfair. Uno de nuestros miembros de la junta también es un miembro, y nos invitó a unirnos a él, y su esposa, para la cena. El servicio era impecable y la comida deliciosa. Mientras no la lista de vinos era amplia o profunda, que tuve la opciones para satisfacer a mi esposa, y nuestro anfitrión/anfitriona. Durante el transcurso de la comida, mi esposa se presentó a muchas personas, que eran para comer, y tenía intereses en el sector sanitario en todo el mundo. We had been recommended that we should try kat’s diner. A warm and friendly welcome. As soon as I notice currywurst was on the menu I was sold it was like being back in Germany agin. The atmosphere was very good with the American theme. A recommend stop for anyone who happens to be on a motorbike too.

Been here few times. Reasonable price and tasty drinks l! Bubble waffle is amazing. Store also looks trendy!

I love the place, it is nice and comfy, very homey. The menu is very good however what knocks it out of the park is the team! Ewa and the rest of the team really take it to the next level

We stopped off here after a walk around the woodland. Lovely clean and friendly cafe. We were invited to take our dogs into the cafe. Nice amount of space between tables and chairs for our 2 hounds to lay down. We ordered a pot of welsh tea, coffee and two scones with jam, butter and clotted cream. Scones were delicious, proper home made and beautifully fresh. Staff were lovely. Would recommend a visit. Plenty of parking space.

I’ve had two incredible lunches at Leo this week. The Gouda, cream cheese and burnt leek rosemary focaccia toastie was so good that I just had to go back. The next day I tried the scrambled eggs on toast. Wow! I had no idea that scrambled eggs could be so delicious and full of such interesting flavours. Leo is a happy, vibrant place to enjoy a relaxing, unhurried lunch and everyone working there was very friendly and welcoming.

Cream Cajun chicken pasta is 10/10, build your own wraps are amazing and cheesy sweet potato wedges are also so good. Love that they count out all the calories and macros for you, makes healthy eating so much easier! Amazing place, well worth a visit. Only downside is juice selection in their fridge isn’t the best (would be good to have some more items like irn bru xtra, sprite, coke zero etc) but not worth scoring down for.

Cute little winery hidden away next to the canal. Food and drink excellent, although did take a while for food, but was 100% worth it and enjoyed by all. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Easily could spend an afternoon!
